Kantz says that “writing and reading are not just about transmitting and receiving information. Texts don’t mean the same thing to every reader” because readers will construct the meaning by interacting with texts. Writing synthesis can be very difficult because writer need to think about the required materials such as citation format, number and length of the sources, abstractness of the topic, and the extent to which the sources will supply the purpose of the paper. It is easier to write a paper that uses all of only one short source on familiar topic than writing long sources on topic that writer must learn and unfamiliar. A memoir is our modern version of a fairy-tale, it is a biography written from personal knowledge or special account. In The Glass Castle, Jeannette Walls recalls her childhood memories with her family. From Rex Walls, her father, allowing her into the cheetah den to his last moments with her before she moved to New York. The Glass Castle was truly effective from the beginning to the very end of the book. Jeanette writes The Glass Castle to show to older teens that no matter how bad your childhood is or was, it doesn't mean that your future will be bad also, since you can grow out of it if you can really try.

Leonard Pitts’ piece was effective from the start even though his piece was written in a ranting manner. This is because the author pours opinionated pathos into the piece and it happened to be the feeling of everyone in the country at the moment. The author also dismisses his ethos as a paid column writer to say what the normal American with average communication skills would say. Most paid column writers would probably not use the words, ¨you monster. You beast. You unspeakable bastard¨ (Pitts). However, even though he is dismissing his credibility this works for him because it makes him a relatable speaker and makes the reader want to continue reading.
“McCandless didn’t conform particularly well to the bush casualty stereotype.” Jon Krakauer, in his book Into The Wild, argues that McCandless was a unique personality who yearned for adventure. He supports his claim by the usage of epigraphs, interviews with McCandless’s acquaintances, and various maps that are indicative of where the protagonist travelled. Krakauer's purpose is to use an argumentative structure in order to convince the audience that McCandless was more complex than previously known. He uses a nostalgic and commanding tone in order to emotionally appeal to an audience who may have originally had different opinions on McCandless. In Into The Wild, Krakauer employs techniques of ethos and speaker in order to thoroughly convey
Nonconformity allows people to go against a prevailing rule so that they may do as they please.
A prosecutor’s job is to find evidence to support his case against an individual accused of breaking the law while a defense attorney tries to present evidence to prove the innocence of the person accused. Neither can be truly be unbiased about their evidence but each of them is motivated to confirm a particular position. Much like a defense attorney, in his biography, Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer attempts to prove that McCandless’s tragedy was not due to his incompetence or lack of knowledge about the wild. He asserts emotions and rational onto McCandless’s experience as well as drawing similarities between his personal experience and McCandless’s in order to create a more sympathetic response from readers.

Nat Turner: Mr. Garrison I do wish I could agree, but few of these men (looking down at Fitzhugh and calhoun) have shown no respect for god.
Chapter 10 is called “The Leech and His Patient.” This title is a perfect symbol for what happens in the chapter. Roger Chillingsworth continues to work on his patient, Dimmesdale, to try to figure out what is wrong with him. At the same time though Chillingsworth, the leech, is growing obsessed with his patient. Chillingworth has connected Dimmesdale's spiritual sickness to his physical sickness. At the end of the chapter, he finds something on Dimmesdale’s chest while he is sleeping, which he is overjoyed by. This mark is a permanent mark, Dimmesdale’s own scarlet letter, except it is part of his skin, not a detachable letter. While leech can be used to represent physicians as physicians commonly used leeches, the idea of the leech
In Marjane Satrapi's word-specific panel about refugees fleeing north on page 89, she indicates the perilous situation of the war through taxis escaping flaming iconography. The bombing of border towns in the Iran-Iraq war forces residents to abandon their homes and belongings in the hope of finding refuge in the northern cities. The foreboding, chaotic scene underscores a period of turmoil in Iranian history. The words of the panel state, “After Abadan, every border town was targeted by bombers. Most of the people living in those areas had to flee northward, far away from the Iraqi missiles.” Satrapi sets the backdrop of warfare with intense, slightly militaristic words such as “targeted,” “flee,” and “far away”. This being a word-specific panel, the graphic
Somehow your message was showing that it is coming from Alois, that’s why I responded. I rarely check my SMS messages, but only Whatsapp.
First I want to speak in unambiguous and unequivocal terms: I repudiate all the rappers promoting failure through their rhymes about selling drugs, abusing women, and abandoning their responsibilities as men. You are all lost and a shame upon our people. Your values are decrepit; your values are out of sync with the norms of society. It amazes me how you promote a lifestyle that only leads to incarceration, broken families, and mass ignorance yet the youth still gravitates towards your message like it's the blue print to success. A lot of our men are a shadow of what they should be. A lot our men have failed their women, failed their daughters, failed their sons and most importantly failed themselves. Not all black men are walking zombies

Danish electro-pop band, SAINT BEST – Daniel Thoning, Christian Askjær, Mads Jenstrup, and Christian Bonne – take sexual food fetishes to a new level with their questionably dissranged, pleasure-filled video “In The Morning.” Paired with SAINT BEST’S insatiable synth drenched track, and hypnotic vocals, “In The Morning” becomes addictive for it’s simple visual shock, and a memorable first single. Some things cannot be unseen, yet the masochist in us all will beg for a repeat.
