Abstract Artificial Intelligence otherwise known as AI, it is the development and the theory of some computer systems which are able to undertake certain tasks which will normally need the intelligence of humans. The tasks that are normally in need of the human intelligence are the likes of translation of languages, making decisions recognition of speech among others. Good examples of these technologies that fall under the AI are; augmented reality, Virtual Assistants, and robots. On the other hand, employee productivity can also be called workforce productivity. Productivity is evaluated in terms of the output of employees within a given time. A Lot of US multinational have embraced the use of this technology as it has been touted as leading to some financial benefits(Bobrow,2005). My research is limited to American multinational corporations like Amazon and Google. American Multinational Corporations using AI Technology Many of tech companies and organization are putting into use the AI technologies that are made up of the robots, augmented reality and even the virtual assistants. Recently there was a report that was undertaken by Accenture in 12 nations and it showed that AI that is able to sense the environment has the ability to know what is happening to lead to the taking of an action. All these would, later on, lead to the rise in the levels of productivity to sales of 40% in the year 2035.The report goes on to show that once AI is well utilized, there will
Artificial Intelligence has a very beneficial impact on humanity. I believe that it can replicate the actions and decisions of humans without the impact of fatigue, time, or emotion. I think that if AI advances more jobs in the IT industry will be developed, and more people will want to work for industries that develop these new technologies. Machines driven by AI technology can replace the consistency, tedious work some humans have to do. In the article “Artificial Intelligence May Usher in a New Golden Age,” written by Faith Popcorn, supports my claim that AI could potentially reduce the tediousness of work for a person. It also says that robots can now diagnose patients, while doctors could not. Humans need to continue their ambition to
In society, where it is already hard enough to obtain a job, the creation of AI will take away jobs from countless people. In total there will be a 47% loss of jobs and specifically in the
Intelligent machines surpass human capabilities and steal our jobs. As technology is becoming more advanced, machines may outperform humans’ ability such as driving cars, understanding natural language, and buying parcels of real estate for people (Jerry 36). People have already experienced AI (Artificial Intelligence) in our society both directly and indirectly. Siri is a good example of AI; whenever people want to get directions, call other people, and find information, people ask Siri to get answers. Software can detect faces and recognize the faces of individuals as people take pictures with their phones when people post pictures on Facebook (Thomas 38). In addition, smart home devices are introduced into households these days; as a result, people can live more convenient lives because smart home devices recognize people’s behavior patterns, adjust to their preferences regarding temperature and luminosity, and help people to save money and energy by setting their desires. AI makes our life convenient, but it also leads people to be ignorant and incapable. If people keep relying on technology system, people cannot do anything by themselves when a computer is out of order (Bianca). AI is “imperfect”, so people should not believe answers from a computer all the
The second emerging technology to consider is Artificial Intelligence (AI). Over the next couple of years, applications will begin to incorporate AI at a certain level. Intelligent applications can improve efficiency when it is layered between people and systems. AI can bring a competitive advantage with automation, data processing, and analytics. Smart devices would be able to interact with AI. As the technology develops, AI can reduce the number of defects and improving the quality control of a company’s
What’s the first thing you think of when someone says, “Artificial Intelligence”? The Terminator? Perhaps the Matrix trilogy? Ever since the inception of the computer, science fiction has brought us scenes of super-intelligent computers who want to take over all of mankind. In reality, Artificial Intelligence is still in it’s infancy, and has done much more good for humans than bad. Over time, people’s perspective of AI has changed drastically. We have gone from thinking that AI will take over the world and obliterate mankind to thinking about all the benefits we can get from AI. The change in people’s perspective lately towards a more positive view of AI has boosted the production, sales, and advancement of home automation and AI, making
Society today is greatly influenced by technology and the impact it has had within the past 20 years. One of the largest breakthroughs, though, is Artificial Intelligence (A.I.). The technology associated with A.I. has greatly developed in the past years, and is only making devices smarter. When someone mentions technology, or even the technological breakthroughs the world has gone through recently, many people go straight to smartphones and computers. A.I. is often overlooked, or put into a general category of "technology". Yet, artificial intelligence is something that should we not be so quick to dismiss, and should be something that gets people talking and even excited for what the future holds.
The technology humans have developed over the past century is quite outstanding in its capabilities. One might not think of a robot having any type of intelligence because inanimate objects do not have a conscious or mind. However, we have invented technologies that have “artificial intelligence”. Some examples of use for these types of technologies include unmanned aircrafts, robots in hospitals that can detect a surgeon’s patterns and assist as well, and AI systems that can analyze documents at law firms. One of the questions of concern about artificial intelligence is if it could cause high rates of unemployment. Humans have developed systems that are capable of performing tasks that do not require much human skill; however, humans perform these tasks as their employment. If we keep replacing these job positions with artificial intelligence rather than humans, unemployment rates will rise.
Intelligent machines are slowly taking over jobs from the human race. Washingtonpost.com states that almost half of the employed population in the US is at risk of being taken over by machines, showing that they are already taking jobs in transportation, logistics and administrative occupations. This shows that these intelligent machines are on the climb of taking over the occupational world. Therefore, the world as a whole needs to realize what the cost of these machines will be in the future. Like the saying goes: just because something can be done, doesn’t mean it should be done.
One of the biggest controversies with the advancement of artificial intelligence is the debate on job automation. Many people believe that artificial intelligence will advance to become better than humans and replace humans in most jobs. The opposite belief is that AI will be used to improve the standard of living and will be a tool to support humans, not replace them. Job automation has many benefits such as performing more dangerous jobs and complete tasks that humans do not desire to do. Even though job automation has benefits, there are many people who believe robots will take over the job market and the unemployment rate will skyrocket. There are multiple supporting factors for each side of the job automation debate, but the argument will never be settled until AI is further advanced and utilized.
Many people fear that adding AI to industries will mean a decrease in jobs, which it will. Many fields will feel the effect of AI, if not today, in the near future. Assembly lines that once contained humans, now contain robots. Check-out clerks at stores are gradually being replaced with self check-out machines. Bank tellers aren't used as often because of the ease of automated teller machine (ATM) banking. In fact, some banks charge a fee if you use their tellers for transactions that can be made at an ATM. In the previous section, it was stated that AI
Barring some freak disaster that makes it impossible to use computer technology on planet earth, AI tech is here to stay. By 2022, it will manage countless business processes and mind many of our personal calendars. AI will take over a variety of tedious professional tasks.
Artificial Intelligence has been a controversial topic in the science world for some time now. Major advancements have been made and predictions about what the future holds is being discussed (Quora). Scientists strive to make these machines more productive and intelligent, because they love watching their artificial intelligence improve, while others are not a fan of them whatsoever (Gaines-Ross). These people are skeptical of how these machines will be incorporated into our lives in the near future. Some worry that they will begin to take jobs away, while others adore the idea that automation will be implemented more within society (Kaplan 119). Currently, these machines are being programmed to occupy specific jobs in the workforce and will continue to be modified until they can take on more advanced occupancies in the future (Hayden). Within the next thirty years, artificial intelligence will slowly replace humans in many different aspects of the labor force, because most jobs are vulnerable to replacement through automation, or will be vulnerable to replacement soon. This will ultimately increase unemployment in the United States, leaving thousands of people without jobs.
Over the year the work field has changed in many ways. With emerging technologies it is hard not to see the incorporation of electronics into everyday business functions. We all use calculators, computers, cell phones, email, text, and tablets to assist us with everyday business task. With technology evolving at an exponential rate the question is “how far do we go?” We have all heard the saying “work smarter not harder.” Many companies have taken this to the extreme by making systems that can work without input from a person. They have come to call these systems artificial intelligence. With these new systems we are now able to complete task without a person on the job. So now we need to ask ourselves, “are we ready to trust computers to do our work for us?”
Artificial Intelligence is a topic within the public media that has existed for decades, but is now a concern due to the reality of human advancement and innovation in the field of science and technology. Many people believe that computers will become self-aware or sentient and view humanity as a disposable resource and gain supremacy. Reasoning that research on the technology should halt and not become more advance. Whereas others believe they will help catapult research and the economy forward, supporting the operations and innovations the technology offers. The complicated and divided solutions to the debate aren’t obvious, but there are more benefits to improving artificial intelligence than there is stopping it. Therefore, the negative effects people believe will occur can be resolved.
Most experts agree that Artificial Intelligence is on the increase in various fields. It has become one of the most controversial scientific issues of the twenty-first century. It raises the unemployment rate, workers will not find enough jobs for them and some of them may lose their work. As a result of technology, according to Wilson, Daugherty and Bianzino (2017), "The threat that automation will eliminate a broad swath of jobs across the world economy is now well established. As Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems become ever more
