With joining Alpha Kappa Psi there is a plethora of positions that are available for a brother to have. The positions that interests me so far is Philanthropy, Pledge Advisor, Audit, VP of Alumni Relations and President. All these positions have something different that I can learn from and gain experience in diverse fields. I believe that Philanthropy would be a good place to start for me. I have passion for philanthropy and have all my life. Volunteer works that I have done before include: at my church, taking baked goods to the foodbank, special olympics, setting up funeral lunches, trash to treasure, and helped older people with various projects through “helping the community”. This position would help me with planning, organizing …show more content…
This position correlates directly with the career that I want after I graduate. I am an accounting major and think having experience with audit would be perfect to put on a resume to show to future employers. To be able to know what to expect when I enter the workforce can be a major advantage to co workers that have not been able to do that in their college career. I want VP of Alumni Relations later in my time here so I can really branch out and learn about all of the alumni. Networking with the Alumni can help me find a job and give me experiences talking with people in the business world. I can learn some inside information about what certain companies like and proceeded to pass that information along to the rest of the brotherhood. With this position I will be able to see what it takes to get a good job and how to better prepare myself for the work force. Finally I would like to hold the position as president. I want to learn how to manage and operate a business and see how everything is connected with each other. Being president you have your hand in a little bit of everything and can see how the performance in one area will affect the performance in another and I can make an impact in every area of Alpha Kappa
I want to continue building my leadership skills by becoming a Naval Officer. The Navy will push and challenge me to become the best version of myself. I am very excited at the prospect to pursue a career with the Navy, a career that has been a dream of mine since my
"Character, in the long run, is the decisive factor in the life of an individual and of nations alike." Theodore Roosevelt. Students should demonstrate scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character because of three reasons. One, if students demonstrate these qualities they are more likely to get better grades and get reprimanded less. Another, without these traits, a student would have far less opportunities in the future. Finally, as students grow they will gain much more wisdom if they allow themselves to work on demonstrating these characteristics. Overall, these qualities are very important in the present, and in the future.
I am intimately familiar with the workings of the club, as I have been involved in a leadership role from nearly the first day. While the rest of my fellow officers are seniors and will graduate this June, I hope to carry on in a leadership role and ensure the club we have worked so hard to establish will continue to flourish. Through my experiences this year, I know specifically which aspects of the club are running smoothly and which need more work; I know which of our efforts were successful, and which missed the mark. I hope to bring my knowledge to the NHS leadership team in my senior year so that the State High chapter will have a bright and stable future. Furthermore, I possess the qualities necessary to be a strong leader. In addition to my organizational abilities, I can communicate effectively and appropriately with both my peers and my teachers. I am dedicated to my work, and independently motivated to achieve success. I am an excellent team player, having had significant practice this year both leading a team as an officer and working within a team and delegating tasks as head of the Bunny Hop 5k advertising committee. Given the opportunity, I would enthusiastically utilize and continue to develop all of these skills as president of the State High
I am very grateful for the opportunity to apply for membership to the Anselmo-Merna National Honor Society. I am excited to take on a greater leadership role in my school and community. The National Honor Society is known for creating individuals that will strive to show exemplary character in and out of the classroom now and for future years to come. Scholarship is one of the four very important pillars of National Honor Society. I believe I should be accepted into the National Honor Society because I work very hard to maintain my 3.5 GPA. and have stayed consistently on the Honor Roll since the seventh grade. I am very diligent about my schoolwork and I always do the best work possible. I enjoy learning new things and trying to better cultivate
I believe my character is identical to Drew’s. Drew was a determined student, like me. Throughout high school, I have participated in many activities to enhance my education. I took engineering APEX class, formally CAPS, as a junior. I am also finishing School-to-Work this year. My School-to-Work internship is at an engineering firm called HR Green. I was accepted into National Honor Society as a junior and I have been on the honor roll throughout all of high school.
When I received my application packet to the National Honor Society, my first thought was, “Why me? I’m nothing special.” What changed my mind was looking at the application and, more specifically, the requirements for membership and thinking, “Hey that applies to me!” The prestigious National Honor Society is well – known for its high standards of entry. Not just a 3.8 GPA, but demanding more from its applicants. It not only demands that they have intelligence, but morals, good character, perseverance, and a track record of service to others to back it up. And while I have a 4.1 GPA to meet the Scholarship requirements, I think that what is most important is my leadership experience and capabilities and my spirit of service to others.
I want to become the family member that has achieved her dreams of going to harvard and being a confident leader. I will be the one to help my family throughout tough times.
The moment I changed the background color on my Commodore 64 I knew I wanted to do something with computers when I grew up. Of course, as a young child, I really had no idea what computers were capable of, but the connection was clear. The next few years were spent learning about computers and electronics. I was so curious that every single phone, alarm clock, and remote were disassembled and reassembled multiple times. Most of the time it was put back together and nobody ever knew, but occasionally that screw I could not find a hole for would betray me. This curiosity continued with lawnmower engines, trimmers, and anything new that came into the house. My behavior became more than just a curiosity when I started disassembling the family car.
I am a Spanish major with a track in Secondary Education and a minor in International Studies, and I am an Honors College student. Hence, my course schedule is rather tight and does not have much flexibility. This study abroad program is of great assistance, as I will be able to get credits for my Spanish major and Honors College electives during the summer while exploring a new country. Through this experience, I will be able to enhance my academic interests. I am hoping to immensely improve my Spanish language skills and see education from an international perspective. Also, the Honors College emphasizes the importance of experiential learning through study abroad. In addition, my professional career goals include teaching Spanish and going
Excellence motivates me to achieve, regardless of hardships and obstructions in my path. I put in effort and hard work to maintain a healthy balance with school, work, and extracurricular activities, so that I can continue to achieve. I have visited Rutgers University several times last year and each time lowered me in more and more. My first visit was to the Rutgers Camden Campus for Open House event. The information received sparked a curiosity inside of me to check out what the other campuses had to offer me. After doing much-needed research on what I really wanted to do with my life and career goals I began to have my eyes set on Rutgers University Newark Campus. I then made sure that I had to make it to the next upcoming Fall Open House to experience this wonderful campus for myself.

There are many aspects of the Honors College that made me interested in joining this program: the academics, the community, the extracurricular and leadership opportunities. Along with bettering my college experience, I also believe I can contribute to this community with my unique experiences and leadership skills.
I want to be in Student Government because I want to represent Booker T. Washington in the best way I can. At EDS I try my hardest job to do as much as I can for EDS and represent them as much as I can and I want to do that at Booker T. Washington too. I also want to be in it so I can help our community and serve as much as I can. SGA will be very important to me because I want to be as helpful as I can in many different ways. I want to help raise money for the school and show the school what we can do it for the community. If SGA needs to show up to school early or stay after school I will always be there and give 100% if my attention to whatever we have to do. Being in SGA would be so important and fun to
I am my current student body and class vice president. I take on roles and finish tasks willingly. I have led the class of 2018 as their class president my sophomore and junior years. This task has not always been easy, but I have managed with the help of others. Now being the vice president, I am responsible for assisting the president, while taking charge of my student council. This club has taught me promptness, diligence and cooperation.
