This essay is an argument against the limitation of speed. I feel as if there should be no speed limit if these three reasons occur. Such as there is no traffic ahead or behind you, if there is a really bad emergency, And if you are on the interstate in the far left lane. Those are the main three reasons why I feel there should be restricted speed limitations on some occasions. If there is no traffic behind you or ahead of you then why should you limit your speed? For example if it’s early in the morning and there is no traffic ahead, behind, or to the sides then why are you forced to go 35mph. When you receive your license that’s basically saying the state can trust u as a driver. That you are a safe driver so under that circumstance you should be able to drive at a comfortable speed of your choice. As long as there are no drivers around you and you’re not a reckless driver. Now if your child is in a critical condition or is having an allergic reaction to something he or she shouldn’t have ate and you are rushing to the emergency room but have to go 25mph. Would you respect or disobey that law? Just like an ambulance goes through traffic when it’s an emergency I think we should be able too. For the simple fact that I feel everything and everybody should be equal. Including law enforcement and any other federal branch …show more content…
Keep in mind that the interstate speed limits average at least 60mph and the basic cars from the year 2000 – 2015 can go up to 110 mph why is there a need for a speed limit. If the driver in front of you hits the brake then you can switch lanes and speed back up, or slow down behind that vehicle. Interstates have a lot of crashes due to sleeping at the wheel, not paying attention, and drunk driving. None usually have to do with exceeding speed limits and if they do it is because the driver isn’t comfortable with the speed he is driving
I was pulled over by a police officer because I was going faster than I was supposed to in that designated area. The zone was a sixty-five mile per hour zone and I was do eighty. I have agreed to the terms that I was found guilty of this and now come to you the reader explaining why it may be dangerous to be speeding in certain areas and ultimately everywhere. During this experience I have learned that there are many consequences for not driving safe, because there is never a good reason to speed. I have learned that it is extremely dangerous to speed and that there will be consequences, even if they are minor like, obtaining a ticket, and occasionally they are major, like killing running into someone else. It does not matter what happens after, you should not be speeding ever because there is never a good
Rather you agree or disagree with having a speed limit; or even obeying the speed limit. It is our morally duty to accept the fact that lawmakers created speed limits in the citizens’ best interest to protect drivers for minor and fatal car accidents. Some citizens still question, if in fact the government claims to set speed limits are really for the public well-being, or simply to make a quick profit. Of course, one thing we can
All 50 states prohibit 16-year-olds from drinking alcohol, buying cigarettes, and purchasing handguns. Yet somehow, most states are willing to put them in charge of a car. Teens don’t realize how dangerous driving can be; they believe nothing could ever happen to them. In reality, facts show that driving is the number one killer of teens. At 16 or 17, you may feel invincible, but with a lack of driving experience and distractions such as cell phones, music, food, and even friends, driving can be a dangerous activity. The problem is that teens don’t see certain actions as a life threatening risk. In a recent study, only 28 percent said using a cell phone is a risk while driving, ten percent said the same about having other teens in the car,
Impatience: Impatience can cause collisions because people are rushing or just don’t want to way therefore they ignore traffic laws and drive much more aggressively this sort of driving is much more dangerous on country roads because people can cross into the other lane to pass and get in a head-on collision and possibly kill the other driver as well as themselves. I have seen at least one collision caused by this sort of driving near my cottage because one drive went to pass in the opposite lane without the appropriate amount of space there for killing themselves in the collision. This sort of driving can be minimized by leaving early enough to get there even if there is traffic or other slowdowns and if you are getting frustrated pull over to a gas station or something and get out to take a little walk.
After reading “Driving While Stupid,” by Dave Barry, he tells us about some of his experience with seeing bad drivers. Barry uses many old experiences while being in Miami, China, Boston, and Argentina. I agree with this statement because in almost every city I been in the driving was terrible. Everyone, in some way or another, has witnessed people drive very stupid and reckless. Barry indicated that some drivers use insane driving techniques. These include driving very fast, failure of the utilization of headlights at night, and having distractions for the view of the drivers. He says that the drivers do not have a sequence for navigation since some are involved in phone calls, eating, reading, changing CDs, crowd surface makeup, etc. This is a common thing for teens and even adults to be distracted behind the wheel. He drove through various cities where the traffic laws are constantly being violated. For example, has only one traffic law, which is “No driver may ever be behind any other driver.” In his opinion, Miami drivers are the worst drivers that he has ever witness because of the guy who was driving on 1-95. He was watching videos on his phone and was clearly not paying attention to the road or any other drivers. This does not only affect him but also the other people around him. He was not be cautious of the road and putting his and others lives in danger.
Over recent decades, driving has almost become a necessity to many young adults since some jobs require a farther commute and colleges are not located in every town. Driving is a privilege and many people neglect this privilege by developing dangerous driving habits. Some of these include speeding, distracted driving, road rage and driving under the influence. In today's age people live a very fast paced, rushed lifestyle. Speeding is becoming a problem because people are impatient. Speeding decreases your reaction time for avoiding collisions and is becoming a profitable scheme for law enforcement through speed traps. I speed all the time and realize the dangers of doing so. I have not been in a collision yet or been pulled over by a police officer because they could not keep
Children are the future of America and the world at large, but as we move these kids up from Kindergarteners all the way up to adults we often overlook the astonishing 25% dropout rate in the United States. There have been many different solutions put forth to solve this but one that is widely used across the country and accepted is the no pass/no drive law. The no pass/no drive law would make it so in high school if you do not attend class often and or fail classes you will get your driver's licence taken as a teenager. Many people are in favor of this law but in truth, a law like this would be a bad idea. I believe that this law would be inadequate, and there are much better solutions than this
First of all, I believe we have too many drivers and not a perfect enough system to tell our drivers how fast to go. It’s a scary thought that we trust people we don’t even know to be sober and level headed enough to share the road with a car full of young children. We need to manage how fast our drivers are actually going to make us safer.
Save a life, move over slow down. According to an article titled, “Move Over, America Public Service Announcement,” a poll was conducted by Mason Dixon Polling & Research, indicates that 71% of Americans don’t know there is a Move Over Slow Down Law (“Move Over, America Public Service Announcement”). “‘Move Over’ Laws Aim to Save Lives on the Highways” reports that the move over laws are worthless until motorists are made aware of them (‘Move Over’ Laws Aim). In Indiana According to AAA, “Indiana requires drivers
Young drivers between the ages of 15 and 20 experience high collision rates on roads, And this requires the need for raising the legal driving age to not have unnecessary injuries to our future generations. No parent or loved one ever wants to lose a child to an avoidable automobile collision caused by driver inexperience, preventable error, or carelessness behind the wheel. Additionally, the volume of traffic on US roads and highways alone causes intimidation among many experienced drivers.
Can’t Keep Up- choose not to pay attention to the speed limit what so ever
All throughout the United States, we face a wide range of driving circumstances. It can be as basic as environmental change, or even rough landscapes. Regarding the matter of driving, these sorts of circumstances accompany horrific dangers. Every state in the U.S has distinctive driving laws. It could be the lawful driving age, or a mental or physical incapacity that would influence their driving ability. Each and every state ought to take driver safety seriously. If not, the end result could be harm, or even at times death.
Did you know that in two thousand fourteen there were five thousand nine hundred and thirty three speed related accidents in the state of Kansas of which eighty were fatal?
Traffic laws are designed to protect you and other drivers on the road. If we do not follow them we are not only putting ourselves at risk but also innocent bystanders and drivers. By knowing the rules of the road, practicing good driving skills and generally taking care as a road user, you help play a vital role in preventing a crash. You will also be making road safety policies more effective. Many factors play a role in road safety including following the speed limits that are posted and making sure safety equipment is properly installed and used. I will also discuss the skills that are expected and needed to be an efficient driver including the ability to act responsibly, the ability to
