In the town of Windrixville on top of Jay Mountain, a unknown source ignited a fire inside the old abandoned church. The sudden fire would have ended the life of four- five children around the age of eight years old if Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade had not been brave enough rescue them. This story began with a spontaneous class field trip to Jay Mountain. The teacher claims she instructed the children to not wander into the abandoned church, but the children disregarded her instructions. As a result, when the church ignited in flames the few children that disobeyed the teacher were trapped. From this discussion they found out both Cade and Curtis are hoods in the same gang. This news surprised many considering that hood are seen as delinquents or criminals. Nonetheless, though Cade and Curtis are clearly heroes they are also tied to the death of Bob Sheldon. Sheldon lived on the west side of town, was eighteen years old, in his final year of highschool, and also apart of a rival gang of Curtis and Cade. The day they rumbled was the was the last day he was alive. Sheldon was killed with a fatal stab in the back with a switchblade. After he was stabbed he was felt to rot. Member of his gang state that Cade stabbed Sheldon and Curtis had no hand in his death. Based on that statement Cade was charged with manslaughter. Many people were devastated when hearing that Sheldon had died. His girlfriend, Cherry Valance, was shocked to hear that her boyfriend was killed by the same people who saved those children in the church and she commented, “ I had a brief but meaningful conversation with Ponyboy Curtis before the death of my boyfriend, so it does not surprise me that he would help to save those children. However, his partner Johnny Cade is a hood I did not know personally, so his heroic act is both ironic and surprising since a day before he senselessly killed

An important decision in the novel is when, is when Johnny and Ponyboy run into the church and rescue the kids that are trapped inside is because it was to take responsibility for what they thought they did. Ponyboy and Johnny thought the fire was caused due to the cigarettes they had been smoking with in the church. Ponyboy and Johnny had spent two day at the church. Both of them need to smoke, that was the only way that could clam themselves down, but they kept throwing it around the church without realizing what will happen. After they came back they realized there are innocent lives trapped due to what they think they have done, so they rescue the children thinking they were the cause of what happened. Johnny Cade should be charged with Voluntary Manslaughter towards Bob Sheldon. In this night Mr. Cade stabbed Mr. Sheldon to death mercilessly. After Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade were walking with Sherri Valance and her friend Marcia. Bob and Randy saw that they were walking with their girlfriends and they became upset, but peacefully took them in their car. Ponyboy and Johnny returned to the park and fell asleep. When Ponyboy returned home his brother became mad and roughly smacked him across the face with the back of his hand. Feeling betrayed Ponyboy returned to the lot with Johnny and they ran away. They relaxed and came to the park to talk. Mr. Sheldon and Randy approached with friends and expressed their anger with Ponyboy and Johnny. Ponyboy retaliated calling the peaceful Bob and Randy “White trash”. Naturally, being angered by this response Bob and Randy chased Ponyboy and Johnny around a bit
Jack’s geology teacher asked him to write an essay discussing Fort McMurray’s Wildfire. He had a week to write this essay, but left it to the last minute. Jack knew Google could help him finish the assignment in no time. He started off the essay with his own ideas, but once it came to needing facts, Jack copied and pasted from the CNN news website. The next morning, Jack handed in his essay. When his teacher looked over his essay, he realized there was different fonts within the text. He googled those sentences and found exactly what source Jack plagiarised from.
The reader can feel the anguish and utter fear that the nuns felt as they desperately tried to save the children 's under their care (Cowan and Kuenster 13). The terror and panic of parents who rushed to the scene with ladders that turned out to be too short as they reached out to try and rescue the petrified fourth and fifth graders. The reader also gets to read about the helpless veteran firemen who watched the children lit up when they could do nothing to help. In all these, the authors attribute to small mistakes, confusion, and complications that delayed or frustrated rescue attempts. They also include interviews with the survivors of the fire and discuss the rumors surrounding the question of how the fire started.
In the local town a local church was burning down and three men named Ponyboy, Dally, and Johnny went into the burning church to save 5 children who were inside the church and didn’t know how to escape. When the boys got in there to help the child, the only way that they could escape is by setting the kids out the window and then getting out the window as fast as they could.
Day 1: I have arrived in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to help victims of the tragedies that have occurred during the lethal fires spreading throughout the Great Smokey Mountains. The team and I have brought water supplies to last until our last day, along with food and other snacks. So far, we have not yet discovered what started these fires. Our team has decided to put non injured victims into a hotel until finding them a new shelter. 14,000 residents were evacuated from Gatlinburg around noon. The fires continue to grow and roar at the innocent mountains that several claim home. Winds were up to 70 mph, forcing the fires to continue and spread throughout the forests.
The cops saw this as a threat and shot him down. Likewise, Johnny thinks that the life of others are more important than his own. As the church burned down in Windrixville, Johnny did not think twice before helping the children. Johnny writes to Ponyboy, “Their lives are worth more than mine, they have more to live for” (178). Johnny places more value on the lives of the children than his. He believes that they have a better future than him and more to look forward to. Dally and Johnny believe that their lives are inconsequential.
A natural disaster is an event that causes great damage. Such as floods, hurricanes, or a loss of life. Speaking this there was a Wildfire in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In fact, there was a wild fire that occurred on June 23, 2012. Only four miles Southwest of Colorado Springs. Therefore, there were several locations that needed to be evacuated. Even though there was 18,247 acres burnt, the fire was 100 percent contained on July 10, 2012. All in all, 346 homes were burnt. Due to that fact, two families lost a loved one. Eventually the mystery of this wildfire, is still unknown.
14 year old Ponyboy Curtis, 16 year old Johnny Cade, and 19 year old Dallas Winston saved a group of children going on a field trip for a picnic at a small church. Suddenly at 1:00 p.m, all the kids were going on with their day and flames started bursting out. That’s when Ponyboy, Dally (Dallas), and Johnny started to make their move. Ponyboy broke a glass window and jumped right through it, with Johnny following after and went on in. “There were about four or five little kids, about eight years old or younger, huddled in a corner” stated Ponyboy Curtis. “To Build a Fire” by Jack London is a story about a man who tragically passes away during his attempt to travel through the desolate Yukon wilderness in temperatures dropping to seventy-five degrees below zero. "Day had broken cold and grey, exceedingly cold and grey..." London uses this phrase in the beginning of the story to set the emotional tone for this story about a death. Such is the way in Yukon, Alaska, where our protagonist embarks on a journey to travel across 10 miles of wilderness. Traveling with only his food and dog, our protagonist is going against what the wise man from Sulfur creek had warned him to do.
This week the Jay Mountain church caught fire. The fire is unknown or how it started. There were five children in the building at the time. They got out safely thanks to the three boys that saved them. The boys names were Ponyboy Curtis, Johnny Cade, and Dallas Winston. Johnny Curtis and Ponyboy went into the burning fire by going thru the window. They found the five children in the back room. The church collapsed on Johnny Cade. Johnny Cade has a broken back and likely won't be able to walk again.
