I believe that life is a learning experience and being able to recognize our own strengths and weaknesses can help us become better individuals in anything we choose to do, whether it is positive abilities and skills that can help achieve our goals or negative personal areas that need improvement. Knowing yourself and what you can do, can help you recognize and overcome your weaknesses. One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength …show more content…
I am certain that because of my strengths, I am good at what I do however; I do have weaknesses that I have to overcome and improve. My personal weakness at work is lack of leadership. Currently I am in a position in which I do not possess the title of management. As a result, I basically feel that I do not have to show leadership or take initiative to take on the responsibilities of a manager when in reality, I am not. One of my weaknesses at home is time management. This is a weakness that I have had to struggle with since my daughter was born. It is hard for me to try to juggle being a full time single parent, working a full time job and attending school full time. I always feel that there is never enough time to accomplish my tasks whether it is household chores, work related or assignments for school. Most importantly I have to make sure that I am readily available for my child at all times. In a Learning team, presentation skills are very important. I would have to say that Presentation Skills would be one of my personal weaknesses in the Learning team. It is difficult for me at times to stand up in front of a room full of people and present a project or conduct some sort of meeting. In order to do so, you have to have confidence that what you?re talking about is accurate and the motivation to actually get up do it. My biggest fear of a presentation would be tripping and falling on my face or
My biggest strength would be my organizational skills. Since I am in multiple organizations I make sure I keep a detailed schedule and to do list every week. My position in my sorority has also helped with my organizational skills because I
My biggest strength is genuineness. I am not the kind of person who does something just to do it. Most of the time, if I am fulfilling a task it is because I have a desire and passion for doing it. If not for this, then I am doing something because I know that it is important and that it will better me. This, in turn, means everything I do will come from a genuine place. Nothing hurts me most than dealing with people that are not genuine in what they do and how they treat people. Another strength that I have is that I am very driven. Being put in a professional setting means that I am there to be the best practitioner that I am capable of being. It is natural for me to go above and beyond to get all that I can out of an experience. I believe that if one were to ask those I interned for, they would

Not to toot my own horn, but I believe that my greatest strength is leadership. I was the recipient of a leadership scholarship at Chowan University. My senior year of high school, I was captain of the football team. I was a head football coach of a Junior High football team a few years ago. I say this to support my point that I have always been a leader. In my previous job, I took the lead and initiative and completely turned a school that was considered low in technology, to now a highly recognized school of the year. This was done by implementing new software and bringing in more technology such as desktops, laptops, tablets, cameras, etc. I also developed a curriculum for the students, which successfully taught five year olds to type 5-8
When looking at my strengths the specific strength that stands out on top is Individualization. Individualization states that I will look for what is unique about each person, and this gives me the ability to build productive teams. This coincides with my short-term career goal to join a great company and manage a productive team. With Individualization, I will be able to notice what is distinct about each person and how they interact with others. This will be extremely helpful to manage and organize an effective team. I am able to tailor my supervising and teaching skills to let everyone in the team excel in their specific strength.
One of my biggest strengths is time management. Over the years I have learned that good time management skills are a vital skill when dealing with the trials of classes, work, friendships, and family. I will use this strength to successfully manage all of these trials. One other strength I acquire is determination. I have set goals for myself, and I will push myself to achieve these goals. All in all, my strengths may be great but I feel as if they fall short when I am going through difficult times. Since this has been brought to my attention, I plan to work towards changing how this affect me.
My strengths include being able to include people in a group and ask for their opinion. This was developed by realizing that not being listened to is something that frustrates me while working in a team, and I don’t want people to ever feel that way if I can help it. Another forte I have is being humble enough to follow someone else’s plan or method of doing something if I feel it would work better than my own way. I figure if it is better for the final outcome it would be ignorant of me not to follow the best plan. It is cardinal for leaders to be able to take their ego out of their decision making process, and I think I have attained that ability.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to be well-organized at all times. Growing up, I always lived in a very well put together household. Observing my moms need to keep the house spick-and-span, I picked up on her tidy habits. Everything in my room has a place which makes it easy to find something when it is needed. Being organized
To summarize my leadership skills I have weakness and strengths. Things that I do well are I have good organization skills I know how to organize things the order that need to be completed. The areas that I need improvement on are time management. I have to manage my time so that I can get everything in the time I have been giving.
The strengths and shortcomings of an individual impacts several aspects of both their personal and professional lives including job performance, relationships, and health. An individual that is focused on their shortcomings is six times more likely to dread going to work, have more negative than positive interactions with others, achieve less on a daily basis, and have fewer positive and creative moments (Rath, 2007, p.12). On the other hand, when individuals do invest time and energy into developing their strengths they experience improved confidence, direction, hope, and kindness towards others (Rath, 2007, p. 12). “To help people uncover their talents, Gallup introduced the first version of its online assessment, StrengthsFinder, in the 2001 management book Now, Discover Your Strengths” (Gallup, 2016). Since, 2001, Gallup has changed and updated the original assessment to the StrengthsFinder 2.0 assessment which includes language of 34 themes.

Some of my strengths, as they pertain to management within a team environment, are that I am an extremely dependable person who will get the job done timely, professionally, and accurately on a consistent basis. I can be relied on to do what I say I will do. I am very concerned with the accuracy of information, always wanting to get the facts right. Many would label me as a perfectionist. Some of my other strengths include my ability to inspire and motivate others. I have no problem sharing my data and knowledge to help others in the group succeed as well. I like to find the strengths within a group and push those individuals to capitalize on those strengths. This allows the group to become better and stronger than the individual players. Finally, I believe that I have the ability to analyze data with my strong critical thinking skills in order to complete the project, task, or mission on hand in an accurate,
Focusing on my top five strengths from Strengths Finder 2.0, I’ll start with my number two strength that was adaptability. Rath (2007), describes this strength in part as a “flexible person who can stay productive when the demands of the work are pulling you in many different directions at once” (pg.45). Even though I had little experience with delegation, I managed to assign the roles accordingly and lead a fairly organized trauma. The boy went into ventricular tachycardia approximately eight times, all while his mother stood at the side of the bed screaming for us to save her child. We transfused fourteen units of packed red blood cells following four litres of normal saline just to keep his blood pressure up. I asked that everyone call out what task they were performing to avoid duplication. The supervisor was in charge of consoling and explaining the procedures to the mother as the code progressed, also deciding that she should remain in the room. This proved to be a distraction for the team on a physical and emotional
As fellow Advocate personality type Martin Luther King Jr. said, “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity.” Strong willed and determined to help others to succeed, advocates make up less than one percent of the total population. Though this may be, I will still leave a mark on the world, being both insightful and idealistic. Collectively, my personality comes with a number of strengths such as creativity and determination; however, there are many challenges that I will have to overcome as I gain my independence and enter the adult world.
