What I Have Learned When I think about what counts as learning to me, I think about my life. Just being able to live in this world to me is a learning experience, because I feel that my life is full of lessons and I believe that it takes lessons to learn in life. I feel that I have learned to understand learning more and to also understand the value of learning. As I get older I can comprehend subject matters more than I could ever do before. I am learning to be more serious and I find myself not taking life for granted anymore. I also feel that maturing counts as learning for me because growing up I was continuously being called immature. For me, maturing counts as learning because I find myself doing things I never thought I …show more content…
I feel that I have to get rid of bad habits in order to make room for better habits that I need for everyday life. I am learning better habits everyday. Even though I did bad on my first exam I feel that counted as learning for me because now I know what it takes for me to receive a high grade on any test I take. The biggest learning experience to me so far is life itself. I feel that way because there is so much to learn in life. It takes growing up for me to learn in life. I am now beginning to understand the value of learning because a year ago I did not appreciate learning. I did not value it like I value it now. I took it for granted as if learning could just be given to me. I realize now that it has to be earned. My attitude in high school was bad because I really did not feel I was learning, so I took it for granted. In high school I felt as if the teachers were jokes and I also felt they did not care about educating me properly. I am now starting to learn the value of an education. I now look forward to learning new things everyday. I feel that I am beginning to have a passion for learning. I never thought that I would feel this way about learning because I never did appreciate it like I do now. I now actually yearn to learn; I feel that I need to learn new things. Every assignment I have done in college is teaching me something new. I think I feel this way because I am maturing and I now view learning differently than I did
In Conclusion, learning is something that you can grow from figuring out what strategies work for you whether is be from writing it down to seeing in the form picture and model. I feel like to me learning goes beyond being in a classroom. For example, in life, I take the lessons that were given to me and learn valuable lesson that I was supposed to learn. In essence, everything is a learning experience for me that I come in contact with or encounter.
According to Merriam -Webster the definition of learning is “the act or experience of one that learns”. (" learning" Citation [Def. 1]. In Merriam Webster Online, Retrieved September 10,2016, n.d.). Although some people
Dr. Knowles, in his book, “The Adult Learner: Neglected Species,” defines learning this way, “Learning is a change in the individual, due to the interaction of that individual, and his environment, which fills a need and makes him more capable of dealing adequately with his environment (Knowles 7).” The Bible offers this statement to Christians in Proverbs 9:9 (ESV), “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning (Bible
There is an endless supply of knowledge out there in the world, and I am ready to take in as much as I can. Every time I learn something new, I see the world a little differently and interact with people on a new level. For instance, learning about nature or receiving new information about how living things function, helps me appreciate the life that I am living. I never find a class to be fruitless, even if it will not be the most practical subject in my life; I still treasure the information that I retain from it. Some people are content with knowing what they learn from their classes and going home and watching the television, but for me, learning does not stop when I leave the classroom. I read books at home, research topics discussed in class, and attempt to memorize pieces from my favorite poets. Learning is a never-ending, but delightful, process for
Most people begin learning at a young age, beginning with your parents teaching you basic animals, letters, numbers, etc. Only to build on this learning throughout your walk of life. We learn every day, whether it be something minute, or something significant to your career. Everyone experiences learning differently,
Learning is the main process by which children acquire behaviour and understanding from the environment. Children learn in various ways and acquire new ways in learning, as they get older.
To be successful knowing how to learn is important to me. I have come to realize that learning involves everything around me. I believe that I can make sense of learning and I am able to respond to situations correctly with common sense. Common sense is a vital part of understanding the learning definition. Knowing what I think, how I do things, how I feel and talking to my self is a vital part of my learning pattern. Viewing what I wrote in my first week of class and knowing what I know now. I would not change anything. For me to develop a learning pattern I understand I have had to learn. It is a vital requirement of life.
Learning by definition is any relatively permanent change in behavior that is brought on by experience or practice. The “Relatively Permanent” part of the definition refers to the fact that when people learn anything, some part of their brain is physically changed to record what they have learned. (Farmer et., 2013; Loftus & Loftus, 1980). This is actually a process of memory, for without the ability to remember what happens people cannot learn anything. It is thought that once a person learns something it is present somewhere in their brain in physical form even if they cant get to it. As for the inclusion of experience or practice in the definition of learning this is seen in the fact that if we do something and have a negative experience such as pain we are likely not to do it again where as if we have a positive outcome after doing something we are more likely to do it again. Other changes in the brain are caused by growing. This is controlled by our genetic blueprint. This is called maturation.
I did not only learn things like photosynthesis, but I learned how to become an adult and to respect people. I continued my learning process by going to college, and I plan on continuing this process by becoming a teacher. For example, a teacher that teaches a computer science course has to constantly learn about the new technology, so that he or she can teach his or her students the up-to-date information. A teacher is constantly learning something new because techniques are always changing. The educational learning process never ends.
Learning is the process of gaining knowledge or skills through study, experience or teaching. It is a process that depends on experience and leads to long-term changes in the possible behaviour of an individual in a given situation, in order to achieve a goal.
Since I was a young girl, learning was something necessary to do in order to mature into my own self. It's something us as humans do to evolve from our younger selves. From learning to talk, walk ,and read we learn many things throughout our lifetime to be the person we are today. Learning is the key to life. Learning makes us progress. Riding a bicycle was a learning experience that I might never forget it.
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or by being taught. Learning is relatively a permanent change in behaviour as a result of experience. We learn every day as changes in our behaviour, we have the ability and skills to learn to walk, run, write, read, and have many more experience in learning.
This paper explores the various methods I have learned as a student in the introduction to research course. The skills and methods taught in this class have been presented through course textbooks, online articles and videos, and interaction with the professor. Other opportunities for learning the research skills and methods occurred through writing of papers, testing knowledge through quizzes, and through interactive discussion board threads and posts. In addition to acknowledging these learned methods, this paper also includes insight into how I will be able to proceed in future courses, applying this newly acquired knowledge of research along with a biblical worldview, and how to properly examine research methods against the consistency of biblical principles and ethics. The challenge in writing a paper like this has been to write it in the format of an APA article, as outlined within the APA Manuel. Much of the context throughout the paper may seem less than scholarly, given that this is a paper written by myself, about myself, but that context will align with the instructions for the assignment.
Most of life's situations are learning experiences. People can learn what activities are right or wrong for them by experiences these emotions in different situations. These learning experiences can take place at home, school, the workplace, or anywhere else. The three major experiences that have given me confidence in my ability to learn have all taken place at Penn State University.
