| at Birmingham, Ala.; United Methodist; coeducational; formed 1918 by the merger of Southern Univ. (chartered 1856; opened 1859 at Greensboro, Ala.) and Birmingham College (opened 1898). The Birmingham Conservatory of Music became a part of the college in 1953. In addition to its bachelors degrees, the college offers a masters program in public and private management. |
