(näm´pô) (KEY) , formerly Chinnampo (chn-näm´pô) (KEY) , city (1993 pop. 731,448), W North Korea, on Korea Bay (or West Korea Bay). It is the port city for Pyongyang and is also a leading metallurgical center. Other industries include shipbuilding, glassmaking, and electrode manufacturing.
