(nän´d d) (KEY) or Nander (nän´d r) (KEY) , city (1991 pop. 309,316), Maharashtra state, S central India, on the Godavari River. Nanded is a district administrative center and is known for its fine muslin. A commercial center, it is also a market for cattle, grain, and cotton. A fort built by the Mughals is nearby. |
