STEP 1a: List 3 things you learned about a Crisis Management Plan. Cell will expand as you type.
Three things I learned about the Crisis Management Plan 1. Four Phases of Emergency Preparedness
-Prevention/Mitigation
-Preparedness
-Response
-Recovery
2. There are three colors of the School Crisis, Emergency Management and Medical Emergency Response Plan. -Orange of the plan is for key leadership and those directly involved in the planning and implementation of this plan. -Gold is for faculty and staff, or those that provide important supportive roles in the execution of the plan. -Green is to inform parents and guardians of students and selected other appropriate recipients
.
3. Benjamin Franklin wrote “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.”
STEP 1b: List 2 things that surprised you about a Crisis Management Plan. Cell will expand as you type .
-During large scale disasters chools can be used as community shelter.
-All schools have automatic electronic defibrillators (AEDs) and multiple staff in each school are trained to respond to a life-
threatening emergency, including operation of AEDs.
STEP 2: In at least 100 words, summarize your thoughts regarding what you learned, what surprised you, and why
. Cell will expand as you type.
To summarize my thoughts regarding the crisis management and school safety I feel a little like I just took a small course in crisis management and school safety. With all the new information, I also feel overwhelmed with all the things we have to worry about and prepare for. The most important part of the crisis management plan to me is being prepared. There are four phases to the Emergency Preparedness plan: Prevention/Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery. I learned it is important for every teacher and staff member to learn each of these phases and prepare physically, mentally and emotionally because they will be under stress and pressure while being a leader to their staff and students. It surprised me that in everyschool multiple people wear different
hats including being trained with AED’s.
STEP 3: Application. In at least 300 words, reflect on your experience or what you would want to ensure in a school you would

teach at. How would you apply this knowledge to your safety and student safety? What recommendations would you make to your school leadership?
As I reflect on this topic, I feel the weight all teachers and staff must feel with all the responsiblies and tasks that must be done to make the crisis management and school safety plan succeed. It takes everyone in the school including principles, front desk secretaries, counselors, teachers, aids and even custodial workers to all do their parts to keep students safe and carry out the plan. There also needs to be strong communication with the outside including police, firefighters, EMS and parents to ensure the nessesary reponse and aid. I would want the school that I teach at to make safety a priority with a strong crisis management plan. Drills should be performed at class level and school level often. My classroom would perform drills monthly but talk about safety and crisis situations weekly and
daily if nessesary. From firedrills, power outages, natual disasters, medical emergcies with staff and students and active shooter drills. Students should feel confident and aware of the procedures and practice often to help establish a strong knowledge of preparedness. I would also recommend having multiple back up plans if the main plan is not able to be carried out. This is especially important within individual classrroms. I would recommend the school that we have volunteers come in like, police officers, firefighters, EMS, Doctors, nurses, counselors and any other profession that could help a child or staff member prepare for a crisis or emergency situation, come in and talk to classes and schools. They can educated and help prepare students and schools about possible dangers and sutuations to be aware of and what to do in an event of an emergency, how to regulate emotions, basic frist aid, fire safety, etc. Prepare, prepare and prepare some more. We need to be our best for our students and that means, physically, emotionally and mentally. And finally on a personaly level I would pray. Pray for the students, the school, the faculty, the families and this world we live in. Pray for safety and peace and pray for the strength that all involved for an crisis that may happen.

Q5/ The structural engineering design section within the engineering
department of a regional electrical utility corporation has developed
several standard designs for a group of similar transmission line towers.
The detailed design for each tower is based on one of the standard designs.
A transmission line project involving 50 towers has been approved. The
estimated number of engineering hours needed to accomplish the first
detailed tower design is 126. Assuming a 95% learning curve,
a. What is your estimate of the number of engineering hours needed to
design the eighth tower and to design the last tower in the project?
b. What is your estimate of the cumulative average hours required for the
first five designs?

QUESTION 5
You are the engineer responsible for the design and installation of plumbing in a new public elementary school under construction. The project is
running behind schedule ad above budget. The latest catch is that the supplier has not delivered the specified backflow preventers. Although a
strike at the manufacturer's plant has been settled, the back order list is moving slowly. The engineer serving as coordinator of the project orders
you to obtain less expensive backflow preventers that are readily available from another manufacturer. These backflow preventers are of lesser
quality than those specified in the plans, have a history of occasional failure, and are likely to need earlier replacement. What should you do?
O A. Order and install the available backflow preventers, but refuse to sign off on this portion of the job.
O B. Order and install the available backflow preventers, informing the school board that this equipment may not last as long, but will help the
project…
