Broussard 1 In the video of the patient Jim and his hip problems he is faced with all kinds of misfortune as he has grown older and has been active but still is having problems with his hip. Some things that he had to encounter when trying to receive diagnosis of his advanced arthritis. He must go to many different doctors who all must conduct different tests on him for him to be able to get an understanding of what was causing the pain and how it needs to be treated. The different types of health care services and settings that he might be exposed to when trying to find a solution would be the setting of an outpatient hospital which is not the ideal surgical facility for someone who is having a major surgery of this caliber. Another healthcare setting that he would be exposed to would be a physical therapist to help his recovery from the surgery as well as a service that he could use to help with the transportation to the treatment facility would be a transportation service that could be covered through his healthcare insurance provider. (Latimer et. al, 2021) Some barriers that they will face when trying to pay for the services of him receiving the full hip replacement he would be encountered with not being able to use the doctor that he knows who has conducted successful hip replacement surgeries is not covered under the insurance he has which is making him have to use a doctor that is in network which can cause uneasiness. Another barrier that he is faced with is that he will have to travel very far to have the surgery which is something that most Americans deal with now when having to use network doctors. His overall experience of high-quality service vs low quality services would be in a high-quality setting, he would know everything that would be done and have a better experience with quicker service. In a low-quality service setting you would receive similar service but not with the technology that a high-quality service setting would and then you would have longer wait times
Broussard 2 because there would be more people at that clinic because their coverage would most likely choose services through that provider that is covered.
