Describe two concepts for autonomous transportation and/or delivery systems that would replace manned transportation and/or delivery systems. Each capability description should be no more than one paragraph in total. There are no illustrations or figures required. These notions should be distinct (e.g., they should not be two sorts of remote cars or two types of ground transportation, such as an autonomous truck and an autonomous taxi - think about the various types of domains that are available!) and should be differentiated from one another.

Real Life Choices in Corporate Social Responsibility
A window-and-door-manufacturing plant decided to stop outsourcing the painting of its aluminum components and install its own paint facility. The paint used for this type of metal is known as a powder-coat finish, and the application process is simply blasting the color onto the raw aluminum.
The by-product of the powder finish, VOCs (volatile organic compounds), kept the large paint line filled with a constant mist of dust, and the rest of the VOCs left the room via air ducts and blowers installed in the ceiling and were released into the atmosphere.
After the first year of operation, the regional Environment Protection Agency (EPA) inspector came through and told the owner he did not have proper “scrubbers,” or filters, in the air ducts and was causing harm to the environment around the plant. In fact, the plant was bordered on two sides by residential communities and on two other sides by wooded areas. The fine assessed was…

Better Fitness, Inc. (BFI), manufactures exercise equipment at its plant in Freeport, Lon Island. It recently designed two universal weight machines for the home exercise market. Both machines use BFI-patented technology that provides the used with an extremely wide range of motion capability for each type of exercise performed. Until now, such capabilities have been available only on expensive weight machines primarily used by physical therapists. At a recent trade show, demonstrations of the machines resulted in significant dealer interest. In fact, the number of orders that BFI received at the trade show far exceeded its manufacturing capabilities for the current production period. As a result, management decided to begin the production of the two machines. The two machines, which BFI named the BodyPlus 100 and the BodyPlus 200, require different amounts of resources to produce. The BodyPlus 100 consists of a frame unit, a press station, and a pec-dec station. Each frame produced…

Scenario
Wanda is horrified when she sees a news report that some dog treats have been recalled because they have caused some dogs to get sick and even die.
Wanda is very careful about her ingredients and uses only chicken, lamb, and bison that come from sustainable farms. Still, these headlines make her
nervous. What if her dog treats make someone's dog sick? What if a batch of her Chicken Cuties is somehow contaminated and a dog dies from eating
them?
For Discussion
Wanda comes to you for advice, not as an attorney, but as someone who knows about the legal environment in business regarding her potential liability.
• What kind of legal exposure does Wanda have, and how can she protect herself against lawsuits?
• How much responsibility do you believe companies should have for the safety of their products?

Facial Recognition Technology: Irina Raicu's Ethics Study The US Customs and Border Patrol and TSA are evaluating the use of face recognition systems for many border crossings and airports and CBP plans to incorporate facial scanners in all US airports within the next four years. An order to deter or reduce school massacres, certain colleges have facial recognition in their campuses. Churches have been equipped with facial recognition systems to evaluate attendance, as well as enhance safety. You work with a business that develops facial recognition tools with other applications; a team member points out that facilities for sexual abuse victims are organisations, that can use this technology, that are are very worried with the safety of their clients and employees. It will verify that those visiting or coming to the shelter are registered visitors or employees and do not have unwanted intruders; it could also help employees track and analyse behaviours in the shelter area. Should this…

Create a Causal Loop Diagram that illustrates the causal relationships within the renewable energy maintenance sector. The lack of cost-effective maintenance services leads to decreased system performance, which can result in increased maintenance costs and decreased energy production. These factors can ultimately lead to reduced profitability for the renewable energy plant owners and investors. Additionally, limited availability and inconsistent quality of services can contribute to safety risks and can negatively impact the public perception of renewable energy as a reliable and sustainable source of power. Add any other variables that may be relevant too. Thanks!

"The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the aviation industry, with the
airline sector facing the greatest crisis in its history. As countries around the world imposed
border controls and travel restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus, airlines faced a
sudden and precipitous fall in the demand for air travel. In response, the SIA Group had to
significantly reduce capacity to cut operating costs and ground a large part of its fleet. The
impact on the Group has been exacerbated by the absence of a domestic market to fall back
on.
Source: Singapore Airlines Annual Report (FY2019/20 p.8)
Show how SIA managed to achieve strong cargo revenues despite the plunge in passenger
revenues in the period FY2019/20 to FY2021/2022. You should highlight the key initiatives
that SIA took to cushion the impact of COVID-19 on demand for air travel. Give reasons to
support your answer.
