1. Introduction Since security is an essential concern in our daily life, and due to the extravagance in the electricity power in Oman. Smart door lock project provides an intelligent way in which the user can control the door lock with options of connecting or disconnecting electrical power of the house using GSM mobile. 1.1 Background: Security systems are substantial features of a modern facility .The first home security system date goes back to the earliest 1900s. They were generally expensive and scarcely to observe. During the past 100 years as technology has enhanced, security systems also have advanced as shown in Fig.1.1. Early home security systems were expensive and ineffective in performance. The indigence for efficient …show more content…
The smart lock is interfaced with an arduino, electrical switch and a GSM modem. The lock contains three main passwords. Each password indicates one of the following instructions: 1. Lock the door and disconnect the electricity. 2. Lock the door and sustain the electricity connected. 3. Unlock the door and sustain the electricity power connected. The user can control the smart lock over far distances by sending a text message containing the password to the SIM card inside the GSM modem. The message from the modem will be verified by the programmed arduino. Depending on the instructions mentioned in the programmed chip, the arduino will generate commands to the lock system in order to take actions. In the event of someone enters the wrong password more than three times, the house owner will receive a text message on his mobile phone that shows wrong password is entered to the door lock. Hence the user can monitor his house and control the electricity power by using GSM technology anytime and anywhere. 1.3 Objectives: The objectives of the project can be summarized as below: • Design of Smart System for locking and unlocking the door with options of connecting or disconnecting the electrical power using GSM network. • Develop of a program to meet the system specifications. • Interfacing the GSM modem with the smart
The security measures taken place are fairly simple. The phone is protected by a 4 digit user created code. A user has ten times to enter in the correct code. Each time an incorrect code is entered, a time delay is hit. After 5 attempts, the user will have to wait one minute to try again. After attempt 7 and 8, 15 minutes an hour the ninth try. If the wrong password is entered in for the tenth time, then all the memory in the phone is deleted through an “auto-erase” function. In addition, this code must be punched in manually and cannot be automated. A 4 digit code has 9,999 unique
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are made up of tiny sensing devices; capable of sensing some changes of incident/parameters and communicating with other devices, over a specific area. Mainly used for tracking, surveillance and environmental monitoring. These devices make it possible to be used in a system such as Home Automation and Security. Our purpose is to make our Home secure from any attacks physically and to the sensor network. Securing our Home starts from the outside, setting up a perimeter around house sensing intrusion and alerting the home owner. Allowing only predetermined users to enter the home. From the inside you can monitor for fires, leak, humidity or smoke, which the system will promptly report this to the owner as well as alert the proper authorities. Making most of the home voice controlled only recognized by the owner’s voice can add another layer of security.
Security shall be a high priority requirement. Since this system is intended for a wide range of users, it shall be user-friendly, requiring limited training and assistance.
We have developed a system that we can control and monitor the home appliances using any devices having an internet connection[3].
Home security systems is no longer a luxury but a necessity in todays high crime society. Burglary is a crime New Zealanders are most likely to suffer. Our solution to this problem is a smart home security application that would allow us to effectively and efficiently notify police and homeowners discretely, as well as accurately identify the stolen items. Thus, minimizing chances of a thief escaping conviction and ultimately reduce the annual burglary rate and provider safer homes.
Customer Needs- Security systems are required by people to0 keep their homes safe, it gives them a sense of safety for their personal belongings, when they are away from their home.
Smart locks are systems installed on dead bolts that can be controlled remotely. In addition, you can provide temporary passwords to others, such as a sitter. Battery powered smart lock systems enable existing homes
These technologies allows users to handle the home appliances remotely from anywhere and anytime and which is secure. Now a day’s almost all individuals are using android mobile phones and of course, it comes with inbuilt Bluetooth in it. So it reduces the cost and ease of installation. These Technology advancements have made the implementation of embedded systems within home appliances. Automation of the surrounding environment leads to decrease their work and allows increasing his work efficiency and comfort. It is the smart way to work, and indirectly we can say that it saves the power.
Abstract: At present there is no innovative solution to unlock car doors and to provide car Anti-theft mechanism. We tried here to implement car door unlocking using Bluetooth technology and anti-theft system using GSM technology. This paper strives to achieve an efficient and inexpensive solution for scenarios like we may forget our car keys inside the car in which it was equipped with central locking system. This central locking system after certain period of time (which is pre-configured) the car doors will be automatically locked leaving keys inside the car. Whenever a car has been theft we register a complaint against it, though we know we can’t find the car immediately. Our paper comprises of trending technologies such as android, blue tooth and GSM. We have developed a personal android application using with which the system is controlled. We implemented three level authentication mechanism in which only car owner can operate the system with his mobile. We came out with a solution for the above two mentioned problems.
Automation is an upcoming technology of 21st century. The important reason automation gaining its popularity is reducing human effort, interaction and to reduce human errors. With the improvement in latest technologies, smartphones have become an essential gadget to all. For 2016, the number of Smartphone users is forecast to reach 2.1 billion. Another upcoming technology is the natural language processing which uses human voice for commands. Combining all of these technologies, the project presents a wireless voice controlled home automation system. Such a system will be helpful for senior citizens and physically disabled persons who are in need
Energy measurement and management are amongst the major grid challenges and research efforts have been geared towards addressing them. The emergence of smart meters in consonance with the smart grid concept is as a result of these efforts. This paper explores the integration of Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) technologies into smart meters to mitigate energy wastages and ensure energy accountability. The integrated system presented in this paper leverages on the GSM technology to provides a tripod communication between the meter, utility and the consumers. Results from the system prototype show that the system offers the consumer the opportunity to make personal energy budgets in line with the energy conservation, provides more consumption details than the traditional meters and provides for the utility a better management platform of the consumer component of the grid.
Now a Days all people like to use a technology, in this project we try to make Home appliance system which will be controlled by personal smart phone via Bluetooth. In This Paper we try to explain whole circuit, all components which we will use, and how the system works.
HSmart is cross-platform smart home management mobile application, which allows you to synchronize with numerous electrical home elements such as light bulbs, conditioners, refrigerators in collaboration with wearable devices and smart phones. The application allows you to control and monitor home appliances irrespective of your location. For example, switching on the air conditioner for a cooler environment before arrival or command robot vacuum cleaner to tidy up the house while away. The high rated customizable HSmart system allows complete user access control of home appliances via controller and a communication technology.
In the present project our main aim is to Control the industrial appliances by wirelessly. In this project we are controlling the devices according to the Digital code. For Every appliance they must have a fixed Code. The Micro controller is used to control the whole system. Power is supplied to the micro control unit by using regulated power supply unit and the frequency of the micro controller is maintained by the crystal oscillator. On supplying the power, the micro control unit will be switched ON and the LCD is displayed enquiring the password.
However, looking at the increasing popularity of home automation, most manufacturing companies are trying to develop products that will be affordable to the middle class customers.
