Essay on 13/10/666, Where Am I?

It was a dark and stormy night. I, Jonathan Harker, was shaking and I didn't know what was going on. I was seeing terrifying shadows around my room. Also, last night, I thought a person or a thing was behind me, but I couldn't see its reflection through the mirror. I didn't know what to do, so I started packing.

I walked to it and tried prying it from the ground with my fingers. A twig broke behind me and I jumped and spun around. It was dark now and the only light was from the full moon. I had a bad feeling start to pump through me. I turned and ran trying to evacuate the danger I felt nearby. I ran through brush that looked like claws trying to grab my ankles. And as tree limbs came down snatching at my skin I tripped and fell. I saw a tree nearby that looked welcoming and I tried to use it as cover. Black wings busted through the trees and run started echoing around me in a croaked out a raspy breath.

I stepped back just as the thing came into existence. It raised it’s machete and was just about to strike when I sidestepped of the way. I had two choices. I could run to the partial safety of my car, or I could tire the night out running from that thing. I then realized I my only hope to survive was to kill this savage. I broke out at a full run, my muscles tiring from fatigue. I turned the key and was surprised to see my car starting. I peeled out and kicked it into gear and bore down on my pedal. Then I hit him and I sent him flying. But then he rolled over and got up. His fractured arm snapped back into place as he looked straight at me. I shivered as a glint caught my eye. His machete was lying in the grass right next to me. He didn’t seem to notice it, but surely noticed me. He came at me with a renewed hatred. He lunged at me. And I dived into the grass, emerging with the machete in hand. I ran towards him and sliced, into thin air. The thing was standing in front of me and let out a psychotic laugh. I then grabbed the Reaper and sent the blade through it’s heart, or where I thought it was. Instead of falling, it dissolved into pure black

A screech came from behind me, so loud that it was almost deafening. The grinding and whirring sound invading my ears as I spun around to be met with something beyond my imagination. The dark eyes enclosing around me as I stood there for, taking in the dangerous depths of the monster. The claws gashed around at great speed, slicing the air in half.

I was wondering the forest when a Shadow Figure was following me. I started running, the Shadow Figure was chasing me from the forest. The Shadow Figure Chased me to a unfamiliar village. I was tired so I collapsed and fainted on the ground of the village.

An urge to run came over him. When he willed himself to move, his limbs stiffened rendering him immobile. Then right before his eyes, a cloaked entity revealed itself. Its predatory crimson eyes glared back at him as it seized him by the neck with its claws piercing his flesh..

I just ran. Before I knew it, I was out of the trailer and walking back down the trail. That’s when the real fear set in, it’s strange how you feel so open and exposed walking on a trail. The trailer was sitting there it looked almost evil. I turned a corner and it disappeared out of sight. But the feeling of being followed remained. The trail was almost a trench carved in along a steep hill one side it sloped down and you could see a small pond. I began to visualize what could've happened. The different ways it could’ve ended. I wanted to go back and see if someone was really there, but I knew that would be a waste of time. I summed it up in my head as the wind pushing the door open. I still constantly turned back, looking over my shoulder to see if there was some truth to what I thought, if something was actually following me. It was a windy day out and as the wind the blew the trees would creak and crack. Branches fell off and slammed on the ground crashing down and taking other branches with it. The sound was amplified through the quiet and almost sleeping woods. It was strange, there were no animals, no squirrels or chipmunks. The woods were dead. I was still looking over my shoulder every now and again, still startled by what I had experienced. The walk took way longer than it should’ve. It felt like the seconds were minutes and no matter how fast I walked I couldn't keep up with the pace in my mind.

The man got up and stood his ground as the massive beast barreled towards him. The man knew that he had one chance to make it out of this fight alive. Everything seemed to slow down as the man became focused on the approaching threat. He had noticed a break in the beast’’s armor. Just below the stomach lay a deformity, the Achilles heel of the monster. It would be difficult to hit but he knew that it must be done to be able to bring the monster down. He began to run towards the beast now, his senses heightened and he felt as if he was watching himself from above. The beast was now 100 yards away and it traveled at the same pace as it did before. Just before they connected, the man slid below the beast. Time was moving at snail's pace in the man’s eyes and he was just below the deformity. He thrust his sword up into the beast and the sword cut through like slicing butter. The man made it to the other side of the beast. The monster was motionless, then after a good minute had passed the nightmare had toppled over in a heap of flesh. The sword no longer glowed as he returned it to it’’s scabbard. The deed had been done, so he thought. He heard movement from where the beast was and he turned just in time to see a dark mist darting towards the trees, then it was gone. The stream I lay next too was crystal clear with small little fish swimming in the water. "were am I" I wonder, scratching my head as I slowly stand up. As I look around I begin to squint my eyes, this place is not were I was before I blacked out. The trees were almost pure white with black leaves on each large branch. I had never seen anything like it. "someone was here" I think. There is a small hut built into the side of a huge bolder. There was a small light coming from inside the hut but I dare not go anywhere near that just incase it was the creature that was chasing me from home. I begin to waddle away from were I lay however as soon as I try to make an attempt to get away I hear the creak of a door swinging open and a loading of a gun. The bullet locking into the chamber was as quiet as a pin drop yet sounded like a jackhammer slamming into the ground at full force. As I began to break into a sprint I hear the loud bang of the gun releasing the bullet into the air. Before my foot hits the ground I am thrown to the ground writhing in pain. I look down at my ankle and what I see makes me want to throw up. Before I can examine my wound further I black out.

On a beautiful evening, with a slight breeze, four friends named Jeff, Koby, Junior, and Lamar were walking by the creek. They saw fish jumping from the muggy water, frogs croaking, and birds chirping. Skipping rocks across the slow moving water, laughing all together, suddenly they heard a growling noise. They were all worried. Jeff grabbed his flashlight from his camouflage utility bag. While crouching Jeff and Lamar slowly went through the tall brush and into the woods. Koby and Junior quietly followed the two. All of them heard rustling through the ferns, tall grass, and the thorn bushes. My confidence was nothing more than fear and mere hope that I escaped my current predicament unharmed. I hear a sound behind me. I whirl around, and what I see fills me with a feeling of dread. There's a small, blobish thing, darker than the deepest black in the universe. To the right of me, the lifeless street was lined up with parked cars that intensely watched your every movement like a predator watching its prey, waiting for the right moment to take its life. On my left were houses, apartments, and businesses that are packed together like little deceased sardines that just stare at you with their unblinking eyes; which are packed together in a small tin can. I saw from the corner of my eyes a rich red covering my body and the cream carpet beneath me. I tried lifting myself up from where I lay but it proved to be impossible. As the seconds past, my limp body inches closer towards death. I could only just see from where I lay the man creeping through the night, not stopping for anyone. In the dark woods, the chilly wind blew me awake. Feeling extremely cold, I was shivering, goose bumps filled up my body. Finding myself in the middle of nowhere, I tried to recall what had happened the night before, however the severe headache restrained my thoughts. I hardly stood up, examining my surrounding; only to realize myself in a place I have never been to.
