Abortion is the most common way to get out of unwanted or unplanned pregnancies. Abortion is also one of the most controversial issues and one of the most heated moral debate in the United States today. An abortion is the termination of a pregnancy and expulsion and death of the fetus generally before it is viable (capable of independent life). Human pregnancy typically lasts anywhere from 38-40 weeks, and abortions are almost always done within the first twelve weeks of pregnancy.
