The book American Sniper written by Chris Kyle is a powerful and inspirational autobiography about the daily life of an American sniper. The book shows the life of Chris Kyle and his impact he made for his country. Many detailed accounts of missions and events Chris went through are expressed in his eyes and gives the reader an eye opening view of how hard and emotional war can be. Through the the story Chris expresses himself, shows the struggles that war can cause, and what he as learned throughout this years as a Navy Seal. Chris throughout his career spent most of his time in Iraq and was apart of multiple missions in the area. These missions caused scars for Chris and is something he had to deal with later in his life. War is not pretty and causes damage to many soldiers. Chris after coming home multiple times when he was off duty was a struggle due to his case of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Although his struggles war had caused, he fought through and had a great sense of mental toughness. He returned to duty multiple times and fought bravely. While in his missions he always went in thinking about his country and trying to make a positive impact for keeping his nation safe. In one of his very first mission in Iraq he was faced with a difficult situation. He noticed a mother walking out of a house with an object tucked inside her clothing. He realized it was an explosive and took the action of taking a shot to save his troops. This was officially his first kill as reported in the book and was an event that Chris struggled with. After seeing the struggles of war and the accountants he witnessed while on duty, he says is something people just can not fully understand. He says the movies and films on TV do not interpret what exactly goes on in war. Seeing your friends and innocent people die by your side is a devastating event to witness every day. The pain and scars that Chris receives mental and physical through his duties forever stays with him. After four tours of duty in the Iraq War, he was shot twice and survived six separate IED detonations. He became know as “The Legend,” by his fellow troop members and became one of if not the most lethal sniper in American history. He was so good that in his deployment in Ramadi, the enemies named him Shaitan Ar-Ramadi, meaning “The Devil of Ramadi”. They then put a 21,000 dollar bounty on his head which was then increases later to 80,000 dollars. After his career he was officially told to have more than 160 confirmed
