he Legacy I want to leave behind is in involved with soccer. I want to be remembered as a FIFA legend, and want to be better or as good as past legends like Pele, and Messi. Also, an accomplishment I would like to achieve is make into the soccer hall of fame. I want to be known as the very best. Finally, my legacy will inspire people to try harder and never give up.

Soccer is a popular sport that is played all around the world. People from South America and other parts of the globe call this sport football. This game requires sports equipment, rules that need to be acknowledged, and each player obtains an assigned position. I was a part of Maine East freshman soccer team for a year. Not only is the sport exciting to play, but it is also interesting to watch the World Cup.

The rest of the world lives and breathes soccer much like Americans live and breathe football. The world embraces soccer because soccer brings people and their countries together. Nations throughout the world come together for 90 minutes to see what nation will prevail so much so that soccer is said to be the unofficial universal language throughout the world. But many people in the U.S. have never watch a full soccer game in their lifetime. This is why U.S. will never embrace the sport of soccer because of national dominance, money, and location unlike the rest of the world.

Soccer in the United States has consistently taken a back seat to sports such as football, basketball, or baseball until today. Soccer was a sport that never gained traction in the United States until recently, and this is likely due to the American public who never appears to support a sport/club unless they show signs of success in competition. Unfortunately, one of the downsides of the American public only caring about the winners, is that even though soccer has existed in America for so long, they have not been popular due to the lack of success, which is tied directly to the inability to recruit talented athletes to play in MLS or the FIFA national team. However, while the popularity of soccer in the United States is still relatively low in comparison to certain sports, their popularity is on the rise. I started playing soccer when I was eight years old. I was first introduced to soccer at a YMCA day camp and fell in love with it instantly. This camp played soccer a bit differently they had all the same rules and regulations, but played it on black top. I immediately wanted to dive into the sport and learn everything I could about it. I was taught soccer by being shown how to do it at a league called NASA (National American Soccer Association). Here I was taught all the parts that make up soccer and how to use the right techniques to make mold me into how I play today.

Physical Ability- Soccer requires a lot of physical ability. In soccer, you have to constantly be moving. Especially if you play the midfield position. I have played the midfield position all my life and it involves so much running because you have to help the forwards and defense. It also requires strength. For the defense and mid-field positions require a hard, big kick. You must also be able to dribble the ball while running. Soccer is a very physical sport.

You have to try your best and never give up. You need to play to the whistle. Your coaches are going to be hard on you and you’ve got to work with it. During games you will face challenges and the only way to defeat that challenge is to be tough and never give up. You are going to be pushed and you're going to want to stop, but you can’t stop just because something little gets in your way.

For soccer you have to have the right shoes which are cleats. It has to be a certain type of cleats because you have to be able to run on the field and hit the soccer ball.

The settings for our subject youth soccer team may vary from week to week. However, it is always on a grass field. Sometimes the condition of the field and condition of the weather may affect players psychologically, physically, and socially. The coaches must teach the players to adapt to those conditions, while adapting their approaches to players as well.
