When Malala began speaking she was only 11 and was only trying to speak her mind. The dangerous terrorist group has invaded her home city, and she had the courage to speak up against them expecting no fame. The Taliban enforce strict Islamic law and destroyed or shut down girls' schools preventing women from getting and education. The people living here lived in constant fear but Malala was one of the few brave enough to fight it. Malala chose to continue going to school and even helped lead a group of girls to furthur their education, which is very dangerous considering her circumstances. The radical group soon strikes back, attempting to assassinate a only 15 y/o activist. Malala survived a shot to the head, and dident let that stop her and dident let that stop her from advocating for womens education. She faced many tragities, making sacrafices and even putting her life on the line. Malala overcame many obsticals and those obsticals are one of the reasons she is so globally

The Taliban hovers around them everywhere, deciding what they say, wear, and where they go. Malala never wanted to live a life like this; she didn’t want to live a life without purpose. She had dreams and aspirations. She wasn’t alive just to breathe; she didn’t know it yet but she was destined to inspire countless girls. She teaches us that if we were given this life, we should make something out of it. Our actions should be in the betterment of a society. She didn’t take a bullet for just for herself. She took it on behalf of the countless girls in the world who want to study but can’t.

I believe she is too young to take on a big risk like this. Issues like this should be resolved by adults, not teenagers. Even though what she is doing is bringing awareness to the problem, I believe risking one of their owns life is not worth it. When it comes to reality schools need a lot of money in order to run successfully, where would all that money come from? The government and the cycle would go back to square one. Her mission is important, but people have different perspectives of the situation and how to solve it. The article quoted, “The Taliban soon took credit for the assassination attempt, saying it was a warning to other girls not to follow Malala’s example.”(Lewis #8) This is important because it shows that even though Malala is trying to help the girls now the Taliban are keeping look out for those who defy them as well.The Taliban will not play around with her or her mission, they are determined to kill her...she’s only 15! The Taliban issued death threats against her because she was fighting for girls rights to an education. On October 9, 2012 a gunman shot her in the head on her way home from school. Women that defend their rights face enormous risks every day and Malala is a perfect example of this. She is a perfect example of this because she was affected by this problem. An example of this is “In October 2012, on her bus-ride home from school, she was shot in the head by the Taliban for promoting girls’ right to education.” When the bullet hit her skin, the bone richoted it away and the bullet hit her eardrum instead. Malala lived through one of the most tragic events of her life, getting shot by the Taliban. For many years the Taliban wanted to kill Malala. The Taliban ordered schools to close, girls not being able to sing or do any kind of music. In May of 2009, Malala, was identified and was put on the New York's Times documentary. She gave speeches and was on television. Though Malala lived through these challenges, she showed a lot of courage, fighting against the Taliban and everyone’s education.

The bullet had traveled through her head, neck and left shoulder, but miraculously Malala had survived the attack. After the onslaught she was rushed to a hospital in Birmingham, England. Once awake, Malala didn’t feel any resentment towards the Taliban, but she felt disappointed at the fact she wasn’t able to speak to them before they had shot her. She wanted to tell them just how wrong they had been about girls being insignificant and not wanting the opportunity to have an education. Once the world had learned about her story she was given lots of support for what she was trying to accomplish.

She was always interested in learning new things and strived to be at the top of her classes, but when the Taliban put restrictions on women 's rights, where they aren 't allowed to go to school, one girl spoke out. She is known as an activist for women’s education and leads by example through attending school even after she was aware that she could be killed for attending school in her native country of Pakistan.
