Let's go back in time, when everything was normal, and nothing was out of place in the world. Before World War 3 started. Before anything started. Before they started experimenting on us. To do something horrid to us. It was in 2064, when the threat of World War 3 started. The government was hunting down everyone as old as 18 to go to war. Of course, I didn't go because I was only 10, but my father did. When the war was over—I don't need to talk about what happened—I found out that my father had died from a bomb. A very puissant atomic bomb. We also had lost the war. Most of the world was endamaged, and my family and I had to move away. A year after that, the government was collecting people to experiment on. Children between the …show more content…
Okay?” the woman said. “Yeah, okay,” I mumbled. A sharp pain went through my arm and I fell asleep.
About, maybe, 8 hours later, I woke up. The two men with the tablets were the only people in the room. They were whispering and nodding to each other. Since I thought the force field wasn’t there anymore, I sat up. Just as I did that, one of the men nodded again, opened the door, and left. The other man stayed, still looking at the door. He had black hair and his black suit made him look like he was going to a funeral; everything about him was almost too perfect. Like he was a statue. The first thing I asked him was, “Hey, do you know what happened to me?” He looked in my direction, surprised, then he smiled. “Yes, I’ll explain everything, don’t worry. This won’t take a long time, I suppose.” He walked over to me and sat on the bed, too. His tablet was under his arm. “Okay, so what happened?” I fretted. “Yes, so right now, we are experimenting on humans. We need people to, uh, volunteer, really. We talked to your mom, and we told her that we are doing this for the good of our country. We also told her that her letting you do this will be something to honor your father. Then she said
In the book Bomb by Steve Sheinkin you learn about the race to build the atomic bomb, it's affect on World War 2, and its possible effects on the world. The book begins when a group of american physicists discovered that you can unlock the power inside an atom, in a time of warfare they realize they could use the newly discovered information to their advantage. The Manhattan Project was started, and so was the race to build the world's first atomic bomb. The Soviet Union was far behind america in building the bomb but not as far behind as Germany. The Soviet acquired spies from inside the Manhattan Project but could not get any spies from inside the German bomb project. The United Sates is the first to finish building they drop it onto Hiroshima
“In 1957, with the arms race in full swing, the Department of Defense had decided it was just a matter of time before an airplane transporting an atomic bomb would crash on American soil, unleashing a radioactive disaster the likes of which the world had never seem.” On August 6, 1945, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, killing 20,000 soldiers and 70,000 – 126,000 civilians. On August 9, 1945, the second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, killing 39,000 – 80,000. A total of 129,000 – 226,000 people were killed in combining both bomb droppings. Dropping both atomic bombs on Japan was necessary to end the war because the military needed to end the war, the Japanese were given fair warnings
President Truman's decision to drop the atomic bomb on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the direct cause for the end of World War II in the Pacific. The United States felt it was necessary to drop the atomic bombs on these two cities or it would suffer more casualties. Not only could the lives of many soldiers have been taken, but possibly the lives of many innocent Americans. The United States will always try to avoid the loss of American civilians at all costs, even if that means taking lives of another countries innocent civilians.
Bombing two major cities may seem wrong but it was necessary in order to come out as a successful nation. During World War 2 on August 6th and 9th of 1945 the United States was the first country to use an atomic device against an enemy. This enemy was the country of Japan. After the Japanese killed thousands of U.S soldiers with their ruthless and unexpected attack on Pearl Harbour the United States released two atomic bombs on their two major cities. These cities were known as Nagasaki and Hiroshima. After the bombs were dropped the war was put to an end. The use of the atomic bombs is a widely debated topic on whether their use was necessary or not. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were not only necessary to end the war but it was also necessary because many American lives were lost.
The dropping of the Atomic Bomb changed not only warfare forever, but also all international relations. With that being said, the decision to do so was one of the biggest decisions made by any government in the history of time. Nuclear warfare was way more destructive and way faster than any other form of warfare preceding. With the United States seemingly always viewed to be “the good guys” it is puzzling that this country is the same one who killed hundreds of thousands of people all at once and essentially ruined not one but two entire cities within minutes of dropping two single bombs. This decision was not taken lightly, and with basically two schools of thought, liberalism vs. realism, insisting to do so or not to do so, and realism won out. Realism and the many counterparts that strengthen this school of thought is what drove the decision to go ahead and drop the atomic bomb.
During 1941 through 1945 a war had occurred in the Pacific between the Americans and the Japanese this war was called The Pacific Theater. This war was also being fought during the duration of another World War against Germany and Japan but on May 8, 1945 Germany surrendered to the allied powers leaving Japan to still be dealt with. However Japan would not surrender even after the major battles between the Americans and Japanese in Iwo Jima and Okinawa. The Americans then came to conclusion to try and get to a new military weapon which then started the ManHattan Project. The Manhattan Project established a new powerful military weapon known as the Atomic Bomb. This new entirely militarized weapon was designed to force Japan into surrendering because Japan was still willing to fight even though they were on a brink of defeat and they were
The book Bomb: The Race to Build–and Steal–the World’s Most Dangerous Weapon is a thrilling, fast-paced story that refines a great deal of history into interesting and understandable literature for practically any age reader. The author, Steve Sheinkin, writes to tell the story of the first atomic bomb, the people who made it possible, and those who challenged its progress. Any person who is interested in science, history, or would like an enjoyable, quick read could read Bomb and easily understand the basics behind the creation of the atomic bomb. Along with the science and mathematics of the atomic bomb, Sheinkin adds the suspense and intrigue from the viewpoints of espionage agents from the Soviet Union, Germany, Great Britain, and the
The atomic bombs might have killed thousands, but the bombs also saved millions. Before the war even started Japan had a grudge on America for cutting off of their oil supplies. Germany lost to the allies after hitter committed suicide. Japan was the last remain axis power. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, America had a right to join the war and get revenge. When America dropped the bombs, they did their best not to harm many civilians. Also they saved more lives than they took. The atomic bomb was the best way toned the war efficiently.
The most significant theme in John Hersey’s book “Hiroshima” are the long- term effects of war, confusion about what happened, long term mental and physical scars, short term mental and physical scars, and people being killed.
Take a moment and imagine yourself as a scientist. You’re in the Alamogordo desert. Your hands are sweating but not due to the heat. You’re waiting to see the first detonation of the weapon you developed – the atomic bomb. You’re asking, will it work at all? Will this one detonation destroy the entire world? Then moment of truth, it detonates; you are temporarily blinded by a bright light and you realize the tremendous power of this one weapon. The weapon is indiscriminate and destroys everything in its path. Now you ask yourself, “What have I done?”
World War Two and the Atomic Bomb World War II is one of the most historic points in the history of the world. The war was by far the most devastating in the history of the world. There were many controversial actions during the war, but one of the biggest was the decision by the United States to drop atomic bombs. The atomic bomb should have been used to end the war because it saved more lives than continuing the war. The official bombing order was signed on July 25, 1945, by Thos.
Do you know the thousand tons of unexploded shells buried in Okinawa? Actually, now, Over three thousand tons of unexploded shells are buried in Okinawa. We had long time but over three thousand tons of unexploded shells are buried as long as we have that much of the unexploded bombs in the ground of Okinawa be buried enexpld in Okinawa. So should ended the war. Bad over three thousand tons unexploded shells removing need a lot of money, Because it is move dengears to remove. So we don’t remove it.Such a hard post is not forgotten, Soatmic bomb victim said “No matter how hard a movie about what seeing ever seeing for ten second.” So we should face the cruel fact. Wehead atomic bomb victim’s story consider we need to think about three
“Well, it was. You’ll understand once I will tell you the reason why you are here at the moment, my dear.” he quickly said, as if that was the answer he was waiting for.

Imagine that you are sitting in your room, reading a book, talking on the phone, or flipping through the channels on your tv. You are happily going about your business when a blinding light flashes through the window. Someone in the house screams, and you have little more than a second to be afraid before a powerful force rips through your house, destroying everything in its wake. A brief flash of white hot pain sears through you and then nothing. You’re dead. This was what it was like for thousands of people in Hiroshima when the atomic bombs were dropped during World War II. North Korea is now claiming that they have made a hydrogen bomb, which is 100 times more powerful than the atomic bombs – or A-bombs – that were used on Hiroshima. Many
