Robots have been useful to humans since the past. They’re made to make human life easier. Since early times people have been dreaming of making robots and different people have made different kinds of robots. Robots has been useful in the past, they’re now useful in present-time, and they’re going to be useful in the future.

The increased development of artificial intelligence and the everyday use of technology can lead to a future full of robots, claims Eastlyn Koons in Robots are Better than Humans. Koons lives in the modern day where advancements are being made every day in the field of technology and artificial intelligence machines have started to replace the jobs of some people. People fear the uprising of robot rebellion and an inevitable Doomsday because of it. Through appeals to fear and pride, Koons asks the world to consider the use of technology in their lives and the role it may play in the future.

While Hollywood’s interpretations of futures where robots take over the human race are highly entertaining, the movie predictions may not be so far from present times. Take the example of the artificially intelligent robot Ultron, from Avengers: Age of Ultron, who was programmed with the task of achieving world peace. Without any specifications, he believed this goal would only be achieved by abolishing humankind. Artificial intelligence (AI), takes instructions very literally and the results will be disastrous in both a physical and mental sense when it starts thinking for itself. In essence, self-driving cars create moral dilemmas and safety concerns regarding artificially intelligent technology being programmed to coexist with humans.

R2D2 from Star Wars is a robot that helps the humans and is a famous movie icon. Decepticon from Transformers, however, is a widely-known robot that is out to kill humans. These movies and other social inputs have made a two-sided view of robots; either people support robots and are excited to see the future with them or they are against them and fear any kind of artificial intelligence. Robotics is a double-edged sword; there is a considerable amount of evidence and experience to safely say that robots are essential to humans, yet many people have the innate fear that they will surpass humans. Rather than fearing robots, people should try to embrace the advancing technology and the benefits that could result from it.

From where we started from carving pictures into caves and making wheels and such things out of rocks, to the telephone, Internet and electricity, to robots, iPhones, and smart cars, humans have really advanced the world. If these robots get the chance to take over, they will take our jobs, leaving us without money which will cause an epidemic of other disasters. This will eventually end the human race which is a huge change in our world. The smart cars on the other hand can be a problem, yet a blessing. There are three main points that everyone should know about these new smart cars. One, they're here; two, they're superior drivers; and three, they're going to change everything.

Within the text of “The Robot Invasion”, by Charlie Gillis, Gillis discusses the advancement of technology and how it has impacted the lives of human-kind over the years. However, the view he takes on the topic is negative as he views it as impactful yet bad for society’s future. Gillis argues that, although many of the advancements could be impactful to today’s society in good ways the overall effect of a “robot invasion” as made out in Hollywood still leaves a bad taste in everyone’s mouths.

Imagine how much better life could be with robotics helping us out with things such as disabilities. The main issue is that robots are getting a bad rep. People don’t realize that our future has a really bright side with robots. Especially robots helping us with with medical issues, but people just focus on the bad side. Our future with robots will not be as bad as you think it will.

The dystopian novels we have read in class and the discussions on the United States is more advanced than other countries had me thinking of robots. As a child there were so many robot movies with the premise that robots would one day walk among us. Let me answer the last question once and for all. It is not possible for a robot to think, feel, or act for itself, it may be programmed to mimic the actions, but not experience the real thing. We can program them to react to a certain stimulus, but a robot cannot and will never be able to comprehend, have feelings genuine guilt and much less act without the use of a programmer some were along the line.
