During the middle of the 14th century the Black Plague struck Europe. The Black Plague affected Europe religiously, economically, and socially. The Black Plague effected Europe religiously because they lost followers of the church so the numbers decreased which led to empty churches. “Population before the Plague was 75,000,000 and after the plague the numbers decreased rapidly by 1351 the population was 51,160,00” (Doc 2). Some of the town or community lost faith in their God because they thought that God should’ve answered their prayers when they were asking for their family members to get better and to heal or make things and people better around them. During this time period people were big believers in God, the people believed that god was powerful, but then after the plague their opinions were mistaken because the church didn’t help at all to make anyone better many people died because of this …show more content…

This quote is explaining how the Black Plague effected Europe economically. The economy was sinking and no one in the communities knew how to fix it. Landowners and Lords became the lowest on the social class ladder because serfs and peasants took over because their labor was expensive because of everyone being sick s they wanted to increase their salary. Serfs could pretty much work anywhere because they could just get up and leave their manor because everyone was so sick and the landowners needed people to work for them so they had to pay the high price of the peasants’ salary and what they asked for to meet their demands to keep them working. The amount of goods went down because the labor prices were so high so this meant that people were getting more food for less money and people were working for more money so it was switched around from how the economy was before. Economically the Black Plague effected Europe by changing the prices of food, salary, and the production
