A literal brainstorm

Every night, I like to take some time for my own thoughts. My mind needs this time to unwind, to process the problems and ideas from the day. To begin, I decide to turn on the creativity. Sound impossible? Well, first I turn off the lights. This is very important for the creative juices to flow through the entire body cleanly and smoothly. Then I sit down, cross-legged. Finally, I turn on the music; sounds of a rainstorm.

For me, it’s a literal “b-rainstorm.”

As I sit, and I ponder, and I sit some more, I feel the power of nature’s magnificent voice pervade through my every sense. Suddenly an ugly sound fills the rooms, a gross reproduction of computer-adapted voices; an advertisement. Then, the return of nature cascades …show more content…

I don’t really see them, but when one thinks about it, imagination is also a sense, and that is what I feel. I feel all of my thoughts from previous days come together to take form. The scenic blackness that appears to be nothing more than my inner eyelid is rephrased by my 6th sense, my imagination. As I pour all thought into my intangible third eye, (physically just the space between my eyes) I can see more than inner eyelid. The blackness paints itself into a picture of beauty and power than can only be understood by the one who is painting it. As I watch the landscape transform, I become entranced - if it is possible to become any more entranced at this point. My aural senses send repeated signals that I am sitting in the center of a rainstorm, and the imagined landscape agrees, becoming more and more realistic. Rain pours down the sides of my painted world, and instead of removing the color, it adds more paint, more depth, until I am sitting criss-crossed in a torrential rainstorm of thoughts, ideas, plans, and most importantly, memories. The memories draw on their own side of my mind, as if my mind is a corporation, and the memories are a separate entity, operating on their own. Thus, I suddenly see what was being drawn, a skyscraper of thoughts and ideas, supported by memories of weeks, months, and years
