SAMPLE PLAN Xpress Laundry Service Business Plan 1. Executive Summary Xpress Laundry Service is a laundry service designed to save Xavier University students the one commodity that they can never get more of: time. The average student wastes an average of 1 ½ hours in the laundry room either weekly or bi-weekly. This unproductive use of time has created a strong demand among Xavier resident students for a company to take this burden of endlessly washing and folding clothes off of their hands. Xpress Laundry Service seeks to meet this demand by providing a much needed high quality service to these students at a fair and always low price. 2. Company Description Xpress Laundry Service is a full service laundry service designed with the college student’s budget in mind. Basically, Xpress picks up the students’ laundry from their residence hall, washes and folds the laundry using only Tide premium detergents, and drops the laundry off within 48 hours. This service is provided at the low price of just $8 per wash which is defined by the amount of laundry that the customer can fit into an Xpress Laundry Bag (about 25lbs.) Currently Xpress’ clientele is continuing to grow each week. This growth is due mostly to

In order to provide the delivery of service we will make sure that we have enough licensed massage therapists on staff, and have an active contract with a temporary agency that can provide us licensed massage therapists at a moment notice. We will keep an inventory of portable tables, table paper, and lotion at our main office, and will increase the inventory as the demand arises.

Although the market for separates is certainly viable given promising growth in test markets, it is not a market that makes sense for Hart, Schaffner & Marx (HSM) to compete in. The trend certainly shows a divergence in how some customers view their needs with regards to semi-formal clothing, but the firm runs the risk of diluting not only the perceived quality of its clothing, but also alienating its current client base that is partial to the experience HSM offers in its stores. This experience includes personalized expertise on new fashions, custom tailoring, and the status associated with purchasing and wearing the company’s clothes.

A business that is successful is usually founded on a set of ethical principles that they maintain, whether obvious or not; and they will probably also have a very detailed, well-organized mission and vision statement. Generations ahead of us only had a tiny wardrobe, where clothes were not washed every day. In our generation, fast fashion is in. It’s ok to have multiple shirts or shoes of the same color. It’s actually ok to throw away unwanted apparel. Apparel companies are beginning to focus on sustainable fashion, also known as eco fashion. Apparel, fashion, and textiles is the most polluting industry in the world. Every stage, that a garment goes through, uses up and threatens our resources.
