After reading over the description of our film analysis paper, the movie "Mean Girls" that was produced in 2004, came into my mind because this movie contains several sociological themes. Although the film is over a decade old, most high school students seem to be able to relate to this film today since it shows us examples of sociological conflicts such as social conflict theory, social class, and sexuality.

Lead character, Bianca, is the main character and the lead protagonist of the movie, “The Duff.” Bianca is short, about 5’4’’, and is a little bit on the heavier side. She dresses for comfort and cares less about her looks and more about her friends and school work. The most worn shirt in her closet is her “party shirt”, a black cotton tee-shirt that has the word “party” printed on the front. If only one article of clothing was used to summarize her whole wardrobe, it would be this shirt. Bianca is often shown as very kind to the people that she cares about, going the full mile for anyone who needs it. In the beginning of the movies she was always at her friends sides making sure they were havening fun and feeling confident. She is an odd mix of secure and shy. Although she comes across and a secure girl, who does not worry about the opinions of others, she become very shy when she is around a boy that she has a crush on. When Bianca tries to talk to her crush, at the start of the movie, the most she could muster was a “Hey.” She is rather unpopular at school and is only know through her two friends that are considered very good looking. She only has two close friends, Jess and Casey, but is valued deeply by them, despite not seeing this at first.

To complete the movie analysis assignment I decided to use a fantasy comedy movie called Matilda (1996 Film) by Danny DeVito. Matilda family is an ordinary family with a mother, father and a brother. Matilda Wormwood is a genius girl, who lives with both of her parents. Her father Harry, who is a car salesman and Zinnia the mother, who has a tremendous love and need of playing bingo, and her older brother Michael. The movie “Breaking Away” presents the story of a young man from working class origins who seeks to better himself by creating a persona through which he almost, but not quite, wins the girl. The film that I chose to write about is a Paramount Pictures presentation titled Mean Girls, starring Lindsay Lohan and also featuring a handful of Saturday Night Live cast members, including Tina Fey the author of this picture. The reason behind choosing this film is because it has a unique style of introducing characters, transitioning between scenes, and various tools to help spice up the film. Being one of my personal favorites, Mean Girls is a comedy about a home schooled teenage girl who enters high school for the first time. She tries to figure herself out by where she can fit in and who she needs to become friends with.

It’s not difficult to figure out that almost every book with a movie made from the book will have some differences and some similarities. I can almost promise anyone that they will probably never find a book with a movie that is the exact same. This essay will point out some differences and similarities between the book and the movie “Ordinary People”.

The film I chose to analyze is Silver Linings Playbook because I was interested in the story when I read the synopsis of the movie. I thought that this would be a simple movie where the main characters would help each other because they had something in common. Reading the synopsis, I also thought that Pat would be back together with his wife, but at the end he found another love. In Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris’ 2006 movie Little Miss Sunshine, they depict the tribulations of a dysfunctional family trying to get their daughter to a beauty pageant, while encompassing strong portrayals of common issues in the United States today. It communicates the individual’s struggle to be perfect, as well as the difficulties of the average middle class family in society.
