Chinese Influence in America

Abstract
The influence China is having on the United States is extraordinary. As America continues to drastically import and purchase from China, China is purchasing and investing in valuable American assets. Some of these assets include energy, entertainment, food, aviation, minerals, land and other businesses. Although we operate in a global economy, the positive short-term gains by American companies selling to foreign investors may lead to negative long-term consequences. Countries such as China are literally buying tangible assets on American soil. This trend could affect commercial prices, resources, supply and demand. When a foreign company or individual owns rights to assets in the Unites States, American citizens could be subject to their conditions. Americans could be at the mercy of market conditions set forth by an entity to whom we are directly competing with on a global scale. For better or worse, China has great influence on inflation, monetary policy and acquisition within our own borders.
Chinese Procurement of American Resources
Global market conditions have presented opportunities for investors to purchase assets for less. United States (U.S.) real estate prices are depressed and many firms in the West are starved for cash. The Chinese see this as a prime opportunity to rummage through the bargain bins and to gain technological know-how and international
For the last twenty eight years, China has been quickly growing into one of the largest economies in the world. China has accomplished this feat, in part, by radically changing their policies on trade and free market interactions with other countries. During this process, China has bought approximately one hundred trillion dollars of United States debt in the form of Treasury bills, notes, bonds, and Inflation Protected Securities (Amadeo). This debt has given China leverage against the United States which has enabled China to keep the value of the United States dollar high, while keeping the value of the Chinese yuan low. As the inflation of the dollar continues to negatively affect the
Since 1899, America has maintained an open door policy with China. Throughout the years, relations between the United States and China have changed with several effects on both countries caused by the open door policy.
The products of China played a role in the way the United States came about and how their identity was created and solidified. China was seen as influential and beneficial for the Americans through trade and customs that they brought along with them. Some individuals have traveled over to the United States for the Gold Rush and others just wanted a better life for their future and for their families’ future. There were other convincing reasons that pushed the Chinese to migrate away from their hometown into a new environment as well.
The Chinese Six Companies were six companies across the United States which played a major role in the Chinese prostitution and was a key organization for Chinese Americans in 1800s. They original main goal was to help the Chinese come from and return to China, help many corpses shipped them to China for burial and take care of the starving and elder. The Chinese Six Companies also attempted to discourage prostitution in the Chinese community and attempted to limit prostitution in America. Even though their main goal was to help out the Chinese, during the 1880s their outlook complete changed. These Chinese Six Companies saw the benefits of prostitution which they force encouraging and overseeing all the vices associated with the Chinese-American
For hundreds of years China had always been dominate in terms of trading and industry. China thought of itself as being greater than other countries. Since China was an industrial leader, European countries realized that they needed to have China as a trading partner. At the same time, imperialism was coming to the attention of many countries. European nations tried to gain as much land and to make as big of a profit as possible. With imperialism came spheres of influences. A sphere of influence is a territorial area over which a political or economic influence is wielded by one nation. England, Japan, France, Russia, Portugal, Germany, and Italy all had spheres of influences within China. Because the United States didn’t have any spheres of influence, at the time, they feared that they would be cut out from the Chinese trade.
Is your culture influencing your perspective on the world? Are culture can influence us in our everyday choices and everyday way of doing certain activities or things. It is clear when reading; "Two ways to belong in America","Two kinds", and "An Indian father's plea"that culture impacts are actions and ways we see the world.
Back then we werent very good friends with China but time goes on and more oppurtonities come.Today America has created a law in which it will open a door for china. This policy began in (1899,1900)for the protection of equal privileges among countries trading with China and in support of Chinese territorial and administrative integrity. The crisis in China coincided with several major developments in the United States. A new interest in foreign markets had emerged there following the economic depression of the 1890s. The United States also had just gained the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii as a result of the Spanish-American War and was becoming increasingly interested in China, where American textile manufacturers had found markets for cheap cotton goods.
The United States of America and china have very different political culture. They both have many similarities and differences. The United States of Americas politics are based on equality of all people and equality opportunity. China differs in many ways politically but most importantly in equality. China does have most of the same rights but they are not always followed. Most women do not receive the same opportunities and are not treated the same.
They are taking our wealth. We have $2.5 trillion offshore. We're going to bring that money back. You take a look at what happened just this week, China bought the Chicago Stock Exchange. Nabisco and Ford, they're all moving out.
China, one of the most complicated relationship with the United States politically but economically, they are best friends. China’s number one import is technology such as cellular devices, computers, and even air crafts. Japan sends to the United States things such as medical equipment, machinery, technology as well as air crafts, just like China. The United Kingdom sends to the United States through imports electronics, air crafts, and pharmaceuticals. So why are these imports so important? It is because the United States can only manufacture so much. If the United States were to manufacture all of these, then there would have to be a lot more factories opened here on US soil. But due to the fact that other countries are making these commodities and importing it to the US, there is not a need to open up factories and begin manufacturing.
The United States of America and China have a rough relationship, but it is clear to anyone that they are the two biggest superpowers in the world. These two countries have the highest GDP (gross domestic product) out of any other country, and they are both very influential over other countries, making them the two largest powers in the world. Being two major powerhouses, the two countries have many similarities, and after taking a closer look at the geography, people, and history of the two countries, it becomes evident that there are many differences as well. The geography of the United States varies in many ways.
Since the fall of the Soviet Union, the Cold War was over, making the U.S. the only superpower left in the world. This has made the international system much more tranquil, and relaxed. The only country potentially powerful besides the U.S., is China. Many Americans fear China, not only because they are communist, but also because of their huge population. Their population is 1.3 billion people, which accounts 1/5th of the world’s population. As one of the only potential superpowers in the world, it would be in the best interest of all Americans if the U.S. and China became allies, instead of enemies. Peace and development, economic prosperity and social progress, are goals that both of
China has long since been recognized in the world for its natural and man-made products such as its silks, satins, and its delectable cuisine. During post classical China, China’s influence was not only spreading across the country, but was spreading across the world. Economically the Chinese ideas and innovations began taking full affect across Eurasia. The Chinese art of producing salt by solar evaporation soon spread to the Islamic people, as they began using the technique for themselves. Other Chinese innovations such as papermaking, printing, and gunpowder all began to spread to other civilizations such as Korea, Vietnam and Europe. With the creation of canals, networks commerce, waterways, and technological achievements, the Grand Canal,
The People 's Republic of China has had one of the wildest real estate sectors of any large-scale global economy. Chinese real estate value have been appreciating dramatically and at least abroad in the United States, media outlets have been covering this topic in an extremely sensationalistic way reporting "ghost cities," and "real-estate bubbles" at their bursting point.
China is one of the major economical players in today’s international market. China’s economy is the “seconds largest in the world after the United States” (Joseph, 63). This is a striking achievement due to fact that China is a “developing country”. China has achieved a great amount of success through the collaboration of political and economical regimes. The economical growth in China led to “one of the biggest improvements in human welfare anywhere at anytime” (Kristof, 15). Currently, China is experiencing a real-estate bubble. This eventually will hit a climax, disrupting the real-estate market within China. This real estate bubble that China is undergoing is considered one of the "biggest housing
