Discovering and choosing a college that best suits my needs was a rigorous yet thrilling task. The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising clearly came forth as the best choice for me to further my education in design. Being unable to visit the college campus, as I live in New York, I've done lots and lots of research about FIDM, and I realize the institute offers what I hope to gain from my college experience. I’ve been very interested in Interior Design for a few years and FIDM stands out as the prime institution to gain the knowledge to be a successful designer. As a prospective student of FIDM, I'm expecting to receive the information and resources to become a successful individual in the design community. While attending the college I …show more content…
I’m the polar opposite. I’ve known for quite some time what I've wanted to do after high school as interior design has been something I've loved for quite some time. With interior design, you have the ability to completely alter someone’s life by designing a room or some sort of space for them. At FIDM I would work closely amongst others studying in interior design or other similar majors to take full advantage of my education. With the college being strategically located in the heart of Los Angeles, I would have lots and lots of resources and opportunities as an interior design student and I hope to put them all to great use. After completing my 4-year bachelor's degree I hope to delve right into a job in the interior design/decorating field. Taking advantage of my location, there will be a lot of opportunities job related for me. In 10 or so years I would love to own my own design firm or decorating business, and to be a very successful alumnus of the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. FIDM is who I am and where I want to
According to true colors I am a green. The twenty words that best describes me are analytical, calm, cool, investigative, strength, creative, strategic thinker, knowledgeable, visionary, enthusiastic, independent thinker, future focus, objective, tough minded, meaningless dialogue, emotional displays, subjective thinking, social function, challenging and flexible.
The process of having to find a college or a university to attend is a huge challenge, and a stressful process. Even though I don’t have to worry about getting into a University for another four more years, I stress of the thought every day. Will I have a high enough GPA? What about my SAT scores? Do my parents even have money saved away for me and tuition? What do I want to do with my life? Thoughts like these run through my mind and stress me out all the time it seems, but I’m learning how to take things one step at a time. The first step to insure I have a good future for myself is making sure I have goals set and locked, once I know what I want to do with my future it helps me plan ahead better, but saying this is easier said then
F.I.T. has very distinguishing qualities that aren’t comparable to any other school, which made my decision to apply to F.I.T. so simple. It is a well-known fact that F.I.T. is the top school to attend for fashion, which is why I would be honored if accepted. To know that there is a school in the middle of one of the biggest fashion capitals in the world that offers the education and opportunity to learn and grow in the area of fashion of your choosing almost seems too good to be true. I am confident that attending the Fashion Institute of Technology will give me the first hand experience I need to lead me to my career goal in Fashion Business Management, and will allow me the best education that I can get while opening many doors for me in my
What appealed me most about fashion design and product development is the concept, in my eyes fashion is “walking art”, it is a mixture of the oldest fashion to today’s latest trends. I love the fact that I can be so diverse and creative with my designs. Adding a new piece, changing the color or even making something that hasn’t even be thought of. I love being different, having out of the box, off the all ideas. I love making beautiful clothes and mix matching clothes together. I’m also going to double my major with Business management. the reason why I’m deciding to do that is because I’ve always wanted to own my own business and to be my own boss, it’s a big dream of mine. I read into the course and what it has to offer me and it was so direct and straight to the point, teaching you everything you need to know before getting into the industry. What really stood out to me is the 95% rate of the business management graduates that found a job right after graduation. To me that’s amazing! It’s also another big reason why I decided to double my major.
As a developing and growing student, I realize that I need a plan for success, even though that plan may change. At Indiana University Bloomington, I plan to study in the School of Art and Design in order to eventually become an interior designer. While I may change my career choice and area of study, my drive and dedication to achieve excellence will never waver. However, that does not mean that I will not face challenges along the way.
To me college is like the next step of life to adulthood; it is where you get a taste of the authentic world and learn how to adjust and manage on your own. In addition, it can be a place of magnification and polished skills within a community that strives for a prosperous life with an effulgent vocation. Thus, attending college was compulsory for me in order to reach future goals, and North Carolina A&T State University (NCAT) transpired to be just right for me. The distance was within range and they have an outstanding mechanical engineering program that I could solemnly benefit from. Overall, attending this university has opened many doors of opportunities that arrange with my personal and professional goals through their culture and community. Furthermore, I endeavor to put myself first and review my precedent accomplishments to strive for better while exposing myself to incipient challenges and obstacles.
Since I started community college I’ve heard several dozen cases of people changing their major, changing their transfer college, or just changing their mind. I’m not likely to do any of that, I choose to use my time in high school deciding what I wanted to do and so far I am sticking to it without a doubt in my mind. I chose to go to community college, earn my Associate's in Business Administration, and transfer to James Madison University in the fall of 2018, graduate in 2020 with my Bachelor’s. I intend to get my Master’s either right after my Bachelor’s or within a few years of my career. I hope to have a job leaving JMU, my first accounting job of my career. I decided to major in accounting for a plethora of reasons, but not what most people expect.
I also got to visit the FIDM San Diego Campus. Though small, the FIDM San Diego campus seems like an ideal place to study and learn. Continuing with my interest
Fashion design students take a wide range of skill-building courses, mastering novice level to advanced level fashion designing concepts such as CAD (Computer–Aided-Design). I am applying to QUT to study the Bachelor of Design – Architectural Studies because I have a passion for design. I haven’t known I wanted to go down this career path long, possibly only six months. I have always had a passion for the same area of work although I haven’t been able to pinpoint the career I really want until recently. Once completing this degree I would like to complete my masters in architecture then create my own business designing sustainable, environmentally friendly and carbon neutral housing.
Trying to decide what to do for the rest of my life is a hassle. I have to consider what I do well, what I enjoy, and how much income I would like to make. No one wants to wake up every morning hating their lives because they have to work long hours doing something they do not enjoy just to earn an income. The more a person loves their job, the better they will be at it and the more they will be willing to go to work. After spending many years being indecisive about my future, I have finally committed to pursue a career in speech pathology at Nicholls State University.
If someone asked me where I am going to be in ten years, this would be my answer. I will have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Even though I always pictured myself this way, I never worried too much about how I would get there. I feel the Suffolk University can lay the groundwork for making these dreams into reality.
I gravitated towards The New School Parsons because of their ability to see the future of art and design. Parsons’s initiative to teach students how to continually innovate themselves and adjust to the world’s constant evolution inspired me. I appreciate The New School’s want to teach as well as help students shift their mindsets, allowing them to be more open-minded within their education. As a student I consider myself to be a freethinker, believing in formulating my own opinions. Expressing my views and inquires in a setting such as Parsons which would accept my unique approaches to new ideas would allow me to feel more comfortable within their community. Joining the diverse and inquisitive community of like minded people I believe would encourage my creativity, allowing my perception on the world to adjust. I believe that I am a good fit for a student at The New School because I share
I came to the Ryerson University's Architectural Science program not knowing what to expect but what I discovered was the true extent of my passion for design. For me, architecture successfully fuses my artistic and scientific interests. Any architecture student can comment on the ways architecture programs push students mentally, creatively and physically but, because I love what I do, I would not have it any other way. An architectural education opens the door for many career paths and, ultimately, I would like to become a licensed architect in Ontario.
The fashion design career, has recently emerged as one of the most popular and competitive among young people. Those who actually succeed in design have a very individualistic personal style and don’t follow trends set by others. Having fashion design as your profession sometimes allows you to meet glamorous people. It can also put you in charge of what is in and out when it comes to clothing through ramp shows and fashion write-ups. Most designers have a great social status, and are accepted by everyone. However, There are many aspects which may or may not help you choose it as your career.
