Teaching is not merely about methods used and material presented in the classroom, but about shaping students’ lives to help them construct a firm foundation for a successful future. I desire to teach my students basic life skills as well as challenge them to set and reach their highest goals.

All teachers want that perfect classroom were the students feel safe and feel like they actually can learn in there, but first you need classroom managements. You cannot teach students if they do not cooperate with you. You need to be on the same level. Love your students. Understand them. Get to know them. Teaching is not only getting them to know the material but you need to always learn from them. Ask them questions . Make sure their opinion matters. Pursuing the life to empower and educate our youth is the lifelong mission behind most teacher’s motivations to pursue the educational route in their higher education. My practicum placement I gained the opportunity to work alongside Ms. Jennifer Harvey in her endeavor to educate and inspire her first-grade students. In her class, I began to realize the workload and dedication that teachers set forth to help their students succeed. It may seem bizarre to believe how teachers calculate and manipulate their activities and lessons to meet their students' needs best. Consequently, my experience with her and her students, I saw how a connection formulated behind the teacher’s efforts and the performance of his or her students; it was beautiful. Over the course of my ninety-plus hours, I’ve gained more knowledge about how it means to be a teacher and how influential they are to the students than I ever imagined. Why is teaching an important profession to me? Life is about something, but what it is about for me it is the passing of knowledge that will make society move forward. Without the teacher, we would be in the dark, because, the light of someone teaching would not be. We would not advance as a society, on Medicare or agricultural advances.

Teachers have the power to change the world and to make a difference in the student's life. Teacher is a facilitator of knowledge, motivator, advisor and a positive person that can improve the student's education. I decided to pursue the career of education because I have the desire to help others. I also have the ambition to provide encouragement and support to the people that need it. Becoming a teacher means more than sharing my knowledge to the students. It is a commitment with society to shape the performance and learning of future generations.

I strive for my classroom to be a place where children feel comfortable. In the classroom children should feel comfortable enough to express what is on their mind and how they are feeling when discussing different topics. I want to create a space where every idea is valued. I will do this by doing

Considering ten years in the remote future, I only have a minuscule idea of what I could be doing. I hope to be graduated from the college of my choice, working at a job I love. As of now, I am interested in either becoming a teacher, working in Forensics, or doing something in the creative field.

I can remember the first time that I wanted to teach. I was around five years old and I sat my baby brother down and we played school. Of course I was the teacher and he was my less than attentive two year old student. I knew in my tiny five year old mind that this is what I wanted to do. I wanted to be a teacher.

I’ve always had fun using a computer and learning new things about video game technology and just random stuff. I would really like to expand my knowledge on the subject about computers or something involving computers. I also enjoy graphic design and love to draw. Soon I will even get my own drawing tablet to create new drawings on a computer instead of using pencil and paper. Something I like to also do is learn about different places and cultures.

2. A teacher has an opportunity to help shape the educational, social, and moral development of children in many positive ways. The chance to help children appreciate the joy of learning makes this profession extremely rewarding.

This is where I set up a positive classroom atmosphere allowing the students to feel comfortable learning and communicating with everyone. I will find a way to engage every student to each lesson taught. Educators need to know how to motivate their students. The class has a diverse group of students and I will be flexible to accommodate their unique characteristics. Discipline also helps the dynamics in the classroom. Having a good discipline program will make the students feel comfortable to express themselves when there are rules and consequences. When a student breaks a rule, it is important for me to follow through with the predetermined consequence. While attending North Carolina Central University, I have taken classes that helped me develop the teaching philosophy I want for my future classroom. My philosophy is that no matter their background, all children have the opportunity or learning. Personally, I would love to see students reaching their fullest potential while in my class. It would be my dream to allow children with different learning levels, to be able to work in the same classroom together. This will require heavy amounts of group work, something kids need to learn for the real world. My classroom environment will be a judgment free zone. This will allow for students to freely express themselves and learn at their own pace. When teaching young children one must be prepared for all the frustrations, responsibilities, and challenges. Personally, I believe that all children are capable of learning anything, if they have the appropriate materials and motivation and direction from their teachers. It is up to me to ensure that my students are motivated and excited about learning new things.

I want to be the type of role model that some children do not have. I desire to be more than a teacher to my students, I will be an advisor, a supporter, and a comforter; like my dad was to me. The importance of a teacher in today’s society is crucial. One of my favorite quotes by author Barbara Coloroso is, “If kids come to us from strong, healthy functioning families, it makes our job easier. If they do not come to us from strong, healthy, functioning families, it makes our job more important.” As a teacher, I aspire to pass down my father’s love and inspiration to my students, that he taught me. Looking past any disabling condition, to teach my greatest asset of treasuring each day like there may not be another. I want my students to know their importance, their self-worth, and to treasure their lives, living each day with a positive attitude, just as my dad taught

My motivation for being a teacher comes from somewhere deep within my heart and soul. I love children. I love the look that comes across their faces when they finally grasp a concept after they have been trying to truly understand it. I had a lot of teachers that made an impact on me and I want to have the same impact on as many children as possible. My teachers installed a love of learning in me. There is no better profession than teaching for those who want to learn. One is learning just as much from their students, if not more, than what they teach. Teaching is rewarding and involves making the world a better place. That is my calling. To change the world, one person at a time, by showing love to each and every person I meet. Weather it be one of my students or one of their parents, I want to be Christ’s light just like my teachers were for me. I want to be the support system that shows each and every one of my students that they can do anything they put their mind to. Not only can they shoot for the stars, but they can shoot far beyond. After all, I was once just a kid from a small farm town that no one knows about. Now I’ve been on 4 mission trips, I travel all around, and I moved half way across the country to chase my dreams.
