To me fairness is the quality of making your judgments that is free from discrimination. I feel fairness is important because if things are not fair people would not get along and this would cause a lot of confusion through out the world. If we don't have fairness then we wont have justice.

Integrity can be defined as "an uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other values, utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, artificiality or shallowness of any kind" (Webster's 3rd New International Dictionary 1174). In simpler words this means to maintain high standards and follow the rules, even when no one is watching. Integrity is very important in our everyday life if we wish to be good people. The sad thing is that if you ask some people what integrity means to them they will probably tell you that it doesn't mean much and some may not even know what integrity is. In our classroom text, the authors Chaffee, McMahon, and Stout highlight four key factors that we as writers and readers should include in our thoughts. “1. Thinking actively, 2. Justice is a word with more than one definition. To me, justice is treating everyone equally under well-known rules and laws. Fairness is a category of justice. In order for one to be just, they must first be fair. To be fair you must treat people with honesty and respect. Also, you must give everyone equivalent openings to succeed. To be just you must treat everyone with value. Everyone is unique, therefore you must value everyone and accept them for who they are. To be just you must know the laws and rules. Justice is peace and equality. If everyone acts in a just way, then everyone will have a chance to succeed. It is important to be just and fair to everyone in order to make with world a better place for everyone. There are many people who fought for justice such as Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks,Abraham Lincoln, Susan B. Anthony, etc.

Fairness, equity, and fair play are all related when it comes to the idea of justice. Each person has their own interpretation of what justice is. This is due to the fact that justice is situational. For instance, the plaintiff and defendant in a murder case each want justice, but at different circumstances. The plaintiff would want the defendant locked away in prison for a long period of time. Fairness is the unobscured presentation of the standards for assessment that are applied fairly to the members of the community.

The dictionary describes integrity as being unimpaired, unadulterated, or genuine state; entire correspondence with an original condition; purity. But in layman terms, integrity means to be who you are regardless if someone is watching you or not. Being true to one’s self, values, beliefs and morals is vital on the religious viewpoint. Integrity is how we decide to live our life. In our lifetime we will be faced with decisions only we can make ourselves. Only we can decide how we live our lives, and the decision we make defines us as. Integrity is doing the right thing opposed to doing the wrong thing. I believe in integrity. To me, integrity means that a person adheres to a moral or ethical code. A person who embodies integrity displays a level of honesty in every action they commit. Someone who has integrity exudes an image of trust, responsibility, respect and authenticity.

The word, ‘fairness’, is the meaning of the term Equality. For example, equality is making sure that all people have fair and equal access to services, such as doctors, medications and treatments. It also means being equal in rights, status or opportunities given to people. All individuals should be treated equally, and there are laws in place to ensure that this happens. For example, all work places should have an “equal opportunities policy”. Equality is about ensuring that each individual has an equal opportunity to make the most of their lives and talents, which also means believing that no one should have poorer life choices just because of where, what or whom they were born, what they believe, or whether they have a disability.

Fairness is characterized by equity, respect, justice and stewardship of the shared world, both among people and in their relations to other living beings.

Fairness involves issues of equality, impartiality, and openness. It seems easy but actually difficult in actions since in our real life there are borders of skin colors, race, tribe, nations, and even gender.
