I want to build a sense of community were discipline problems can be prevented, children can feel safe, secure, nurtured and supported by the environment through thoughtful arrangements. The large amount of space in my classroom will be devoted to the arrangement of individual student desks the U-shaped desk pattern in my classroom will allow me to make eye contact with every student and reach each student with ease and this is also good for frequent whole-group discussions. I will provide open passageways through the aisles so the children can move around the room, this is essential for children in wheelchairs to have mobility. My classroom will have brightly colored posters, rugs and furniture such colors as yellow, orange, red and green will be on the classroom walls. I will have a bulletin board in the entrance for posting lesson plans, information about special classroom activities, …show more content…

We have cubbies were students put their belongings. We have tables that either two to three students can sit and do their work or activities. A few ways to improve my classroom would be to have a few more educational poster like of nutrition, grammar (nouns, verbs, adjectives and etc.), separating the different elementary grade levels so they near posters that would benefit them and adding activity board where students can draw or use it. The positive things in the classroom is that the room is separated into two parts so kids doing homework is in one part and kids playing is in the other part. Also, having posters that are beneficial to what kids are learning in school and the individuals’ cubbies for each student and the

Each table is a team labeled by a color, a large construction paper crayon hangs from the ceiling above each table, and they have matching crayon nametags on their desks. There is a Smart Board at the front of the classroom as well as a white board. My desk is at the front of the room to the right of the white board. Different centers are located around the room such as the art center, the math center, the reading tree is in the opposite corner from my desk. The room also has a single restroom and a sink and water fountain outside of the restroom. We also have circle area to the left of the reading corner
Today when I arrived at the nursery Karen had a talk with me asking how I am settling in and finding things, I have been getting along really well with my colleagues. They have really helped me settle in well and have made me feel very comfortable. Karen asked me if I would like to take the children for welcome time today, I was nervous but felt ready as I had observed her doing it lots of times. When all the children came in asked them to put the box of toys away that they were playing with. Jamie was the special helper today so I asked him to collect the board from the door. I went down the names helping him by sounding out the first letter in each name. He put a tick or a cross beside each person’s name depending on if they were here or not. Once he had done so I asked him to count the number of boys and
Effective communication is purposeful and is influenced by the context in which it is used. Language is used to communicate for a variety of reasons including entertainment, reporting, demanding, instructing, inquiring, persuading, socialising and so on. These are often reffered to as the functions of language; the purpose behind the communication. For example, " Good morning Seth, time to get up. It looks like it will be a warm day today. What are we having for breakfast? Meanwhile he slowly sits up says "morning" . I used instruction, inquiry and socialising while getting my children up and ready for the day. Being able to use language for a range of purposes is important for a child's language development, equally important is the ability

Ever since I have decided that I wanted to be a teacher, I’ve been dreaming about how I will organize my classroom. There are many things I’ve seen and learned from that make me want certain things in my future classroom. For example, the last block class I was in taught me that having a family space is important. You want to make sure that the parents and families feel welcome. After learning all about family spaces, that is something that I definitely want to make sure I have space for.
1. I would first take into thought the physical enviroment, I would want the class to be well lit and inviting. I would want their to be designed areas for play, or experiements, and even space for children who just need some quiet time. I would want the posters on the wall to either be of the kids art work or of their families and homelife. I would want to make the classroom as child based as possible. I would make sure all the toys are age appropriate, if they're infiant to toddlers I'd give them toys that are more based around developing their fine motor skills, older children I would give them more toys that they have to think while playing with to help them develop cognatively. I would want the craft area to be well stocked with
The classroom is organized so that the student’s stuff and the teacher’s stuff should not cross paths. The students keep their materials in their cubbies at one end of the room, their pencil boxes at their seats, and their book boxes on the floor. The teacher’s stuff is located on her desk, and the back table where small group stuff gets done. The classroom setting is definitely positive and interesting because it has a minion theme. Children in that age range love minions most of the time and
