Family Dynamics Family dynamics can have a positive effect on child’s development because the child will feel settle and have a positive input into their lives and good support to help them develop and achieve what they want to achieve, this has a positive effect on their behaviour to. If family dynamics are negative then this have a negative affect on their developments such as divorce because the child may be spending time at different house and having one parent missing so they will feel unsettled and not able to concentrate on things. They may also experience missing one of their parents of relatives being in prison. Parent styles. Poor health and disability will affect a child’s social and emotional development because they may not be able to do things that their friends can do and not feeling included. Disability can have a positive affect for other children who are friends with a disabled child because they learn empathy and to accept their disability, not just point and stare when they see a disabled person. It also helps the disabled child to feel included with their peers. It also helps the children to learn to care for each other. (C) Environment Opportunities for education and Learning. It is important that children get a lot of opportities for education and learning so they can development social and emotional skills to use through life. Children how receive poor opportunities to for an education and learning will not develop as well as child who did because they are not getting the experience and knowledge they need. If a child has good opportunities to learn them to learn then they will have better language skills to communicate with other people in lots of different social setting. They may realise that they have a talent for something such a music or sport and have aspiration to develop this into a career later in life but if they are not given this opportunity they will not have the chance to develop this skill. Play and Stimulation. It is important that a child get stimulation so they have more opportunities to learn and thrive in social setting and intellect. Interest and
learning and development as listening to the parent about their child is important as it will help the
Throughout the stage of childhood the attitudes and the values can be passed down to the child. When children are young they are deeply influenced by their parents and this is because their self-concept is forming. They can acquire skills that are the basic foundation for learning throughout childhood. Therefore, a strong support system in early childhood can greatly affect their development.
An education holds the key to your child’s future and it can help them reach their ultimate goals in life. The more education that a child gets the more opportunities and chances that they get to really figure out what they want to do for the rest of their life. The trick to this is that an education from the very start should be a least somewhat pleasant to participate in. When children are in school their education interest is not at an all time high. Big factors that determine why the childhood education interest is low are because of the environment of schools and the separation of people of social classes.
Why do you believe that some parents are reluctant to be involved in the educational process?
In the course of child development, a multitude of factors have severe ramifications on the child’s future. These factors are either categorized as risk or protective, based on the positive or negative benefits that are derived from each. Risk factors exist as potentially mal-adaptive behavior profile variables that influence or interfere with a child’s competency to thrive in their environment. Protective factors, on the other hand, create positive influences on development by negating effects of various risk factors. Both risk and protective factors exist in a variety of forms. Genetic, biological, psychological, familial, and social-cultural influences can be seen on each side. Not only do they exist in a variety of forms, but their
In our society today, technology has enhanced many aspects of individual’s lives. Much communication is now done through the use of technology including cell phones, computers, and Internet. Think of the children you see who pace back and forth fidgeting their hands not saying a word as their mother picks out their weekly groceries at the store. This child may be diagnosed somewhere on the autistic continuum. There are many aspects of an autistic child’s life that deviates from the “norm” most of us consider. Researchers have been researching for years what exactly it is that causes autism in children. In addition, they have also researched ways to improve the quality of life and autistic children’s interactions with others. Technology
mainstream education and providing the same opportunities for learning and development for everyone, wheelchair bound children i.e. can be potentially held up in their physical progression. A limited control of the limbs can make it more difficult or occasionally impossible for these children to take part in all the normal everyday activities with their peers and has an undesirable influence on the development of their fine or gross motor skills also their development can be affected in many ways, not just physically due to the issue, but educationally due to missed education from having to attend hospital appointments .also with the child not being able to join in this could also lead to the child feeling emotionally left out and secluded. Socially this could affect the child 's speech and language communication with others.Overall this could slow down the child 's intellectual development. I.e. Children with Downs Syndrome have a tendency to have lower muscle tone and most children with this disability stereotypically reach developmental milestones for instance sitting up, crawling, and walking later than other children who donâ€TMt have a disability.
Historically children and young people were only researched by philosophers through theory, The move towards experimental stidies has been a gradual process that has given research a diverse approach today. ch 1 p16. The reasons for such changes has been hinged on how society has viewed children and young people throughout history, depending on time and culture, from as early as the middle ages there has been theories surrounding children and their role in society, from being seen as ‘adults in waiting’ ch1 p16, through to the acknowledgement of children as individuals with agency today. This shifting image of children and childhood has influenced how research has been carried out and accepted by professionals. Harts model of participation demonstrates the different levels of participation from no participation, where children are studied as objects through to child initiated and directed research that is used in rights based approach. Ch1 p 26
The word says, “Train up a child in the way they should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”
The time period from infancy to adolescence is vital for instilling values and beliefs within a child. In this time period children learn a vast amount of information, and what they learn shapes who they become as an adult. Also, children’s cultural routines are constructed which is when children use language to manipulate adult models to address their specific concerns, and take information from adults to create routines. Consequently through these cultural routines children use the patterns of behavior that they see from the people around them, especially their family, to decide how to interact with others. As a result, not only does every interaction affect the development of the self, but major life events that occur within a childhood can greatly influence what a child thinks and believes to be true.
Before children were sent to Canada they received some education as well as some training. Only the children who were in good physical health as well as demonstrated a good personal character were chosen to go to Canada. Children gave consent to be sent they had the option to say ‘no’ to the trip, however with promises of a better life and the ability to help develop the new country, the trip seemed like an adventure to many. Children did not understand what they were agreeing to. They were usually more than willing to set sail across the ocean. Children were generally given new outfits, a pair of shoes, a trunk, bible and a book of rules to start their voyage.
The development of children and young people is significantly affected by speech, language, and communication needs. These needs have a profound and long-term impact that varies depending on the severity of the problem, the kind of support the child receives, the confidence of the person, and the demands of his/her environment. Actually, children and young children with speech, language, and communication needs are at risk of constant communication problems that contributes to cognitive, social, behavioral, psychiatric, and academic difficulties. However, not each child or young person with these needs or difficulties requires direct speech and language therapy ("Speech, Language, and Communication Needs", n.d.). As a result, it's important to develop and establish various strategies and targets that can support the speech, language, and communication of these people.
While writing a paper one thing that is said to grab a reader’s attention and interest is to ask a question. Teachers seem to do the same thing at the beginning of each year to grab their student’s attention. Typically, a fun exercise or game is used with the intent of using critical thinking, reflecting, and communicating. Questions such as, ‘Who do you want to be like when you grow up?’ typically go more into depth each year. From a child’s first day of school, they begin to create a version of themselves as adults. Most kids respond with names of people they know, ranging from family relatives to fictional characters from a television show or storybook. The answer is always going to be someone who has done something to make them stand out to each individual child. Almost any child is going to answer originating from someone who has made a significant impact on the child’s life in a positive way making them want to follow in this persons path and do the same. The answer is not something that can be taught in a classroom, however. It must be learned through a natural process we have the ability to identify with from birth.
Many things have changed about family throughout the ages. Family structure and each member’s roles have changed in very significant ways. Families nowadays change and blend much more often and the environment a family creates is very important for its children.
