Have you ever been to the beach? I have been to the beach once, and honestly, I wasn’t that impressed. Before I went, I looked up pictures of the beach I was going to, and it had clear, bright blue water, with perfect white sand. Plus, I was expecting to find lots of fine things, like seashells, sand dollars, and sea glass. When I first receiver the beach, I stepped out of the car, having my hopes way too high. The sand was white and fluffy at first, however, as you walked closer to the water, it became hard and the color of mud. The water looked like lake water. Honestly, I felt like I was at the lake, other than I couldn’t see land on the other side looking out on the water. It grew better, too. The only thing close to seashells was little mussels that we would dig into the sand. There wasn’t any sand dollars, or anything fantastic like that. Although I had some misconceptions, I still had a blast at the beach. I mean, I could have been a little slap happy, as it was my first time there, yet I’m pretty sure that I would’ve had a pleasant time anyways. I went with my dad, 3 of my aunts, and 9 of my cousins. We went to the Port Aransas Beach in Texas. We pulled up in two vans, one being gray and one being black, and we hauled out of them. We were all super excited. The kids rushed to see the water, however, were instantly stopped by the adults. We grabbed the boogie boards, towels, and lathered up with sunscreen. It seemed like forever before we could actually go out to
The rest of the trip was very entertaining and I enjoyed the beach even more. The difference between the Pacific Coast and the Gulf Shore was completely different, but in a curious way. It expanded my horizons of the world we live in and what natural beauty it contains. It also taught me that having patience can give better results. Even though we had a long drive to get to our rental house, it was
"So there you have it…" Arnold took deep breath as he finally finished his story. He leaned back against his chair and waiting for Gerald reaction.
It’s midday in June and the sun is at its peak, bathing the entire Yucatan peninsula in its warm yellow glow. The waves lap the shore of the resorts rhythmically, and the squawking tourists flock to the sandy beaches, hoping to eat up every last bit of the glorious sunlight. I pull out my phone and look on Google Maps; Michael and I make up a tiny pinpoint on the 26-mile coast, slowly working its way up towards the tip of the island, Zona Hotelera. We’ve been walking for almost 20 minutes, passing resort after resort and countless numbers of tourists, motivated by no more than boredom and possibly a hint of curiosity. I’m not quite sure what we’re looking for on the beach, hell, I’m not even sure why I’m in Cancun in the first place! What exactly was I looking for by coming here? Perhaps the fiasco that I called my senior year combined with my desperation to leave it all behind led me to embark on this international trip. I scan the open horizon and search as if I could find answers there. Yet I’m met with nothing more than a blinding reflection of the sun off the water. It’s hard to look away, with the mesmerizing rays of sunlight dancing off the tranquil ocean waves. It was hard to look away on that other day too.
One sunny day in South Carolina, my family and I spent the day at a beach called Isle of Palms. We all decided to go since it was our only free day from my dance competition. We woke up extra early, just so we could spend the entire day there. By about 12:30 in the afternoon, we were all tanning and one of my dance friends showed up. she was really excited to get in the water, so I went in with her.
When we arrived at the beach it was the same as it had always been, boiling hot and lots of old faded beach stores as far as the eye could see. When we finally found a parking space my friends and I stepped down onto the crunchy asphalt of the parking lot and made
One vacation option to consider is Daytona Beach, FL. It could be a vacation for the family or just for adults. According to the Daytona Beach official website, it says that some of the best things to do are “ visiting the World Racing Center, visitors can also visit the Original American Beach, and last but not least visitors could visit one if the many water parks. Walking on the hot sand and spending time by the water with family and friends. The first time i went to the beach was one to remember.I went with my mom, my dad,my brother Preston, and Kiki my cousin.
My family and I were in the US Virgin Islands. A lot of our family was with us: grandparents, aunts and uncles, and cousins. One particular day, we drove to a beach called Salt Pond Bay. We spent the morning having fun in the sand and snorkeling. Then, after a long hike up a trail, we ate lunch and set out our rafts into the ocean.
Have you ever been to one of these places if you want to find out what they are go ahead and read on or in my friends words Journey(don't.. stop.. readin..)
Our designated driver is on the floor. With a mouthful of sharp beach sand in his mouth, he stays down and screams “Darn!” Disoriented and dehydrated I look to the top and I see my partners in crime, yelling at the top of their lungs from the roof of sun beaten lifeguard tower, “Throw some beer in his mouth!” With smile football stadiums wide I look down at my bare skin. Covered only by boxers, soaked by the oceans bitter cold waters, there I was; tears running down my cheeks freezing like a nude fool. I had found what I was always looking for, and it turned out what I was looking for I had the entire time.
The skyline resembled mountains of rainbow sherbet. For a moment, I imagined scooping the orange, raspberry, and lemon-lime mixture with an oversized spoon. Just by looking at the sky, I felt as if I could almost taste these flavors in my mouth, which gave me a strange satisfaction. A gust of warm air abruptly interrupted my daydream to welcome me to Cocoa Beach properly. These engulfing winds danced all around me before hugging my body completely and knocking me off-balance. All around me, I could see multiple different scenes: couples lying next to each other exchanging loving gazes, children building sand castles and running about screaming, friends playing volleyball, and parents atop the boardwalk enjoying alcoholic beverages as well
This photograph was taken on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2015. It was taken during sunset and as the tide had gone out, revealing a wider coastline. The world-famous beach is manmade and since 1951, over 80,000 cubic meters of sand has been imported to replace sand lost through erosion from heavy rainfall, sea swells, wind and tropical storms.
In February during spring break, my Dad, nicknamed Moose, arranges a trip to stay on Seagull Lake. This is not like your ordinary trip; this is winter camping in the Boundary Waters, which requires hard work, the willingness to help out at all times, and a lot of preparation. This trip consists of cross country skiing, pulling 300 lbs on a sled across a long frozen lake, sleeping in tents in weather that is 20 degrees below zero, and portaging 2 miles to get the chance to fish on a secret fishing lake. The people that go on this 5 day trip every year are Moose, my second cousin Paul Gerten and his dog, my uncle Danny, their friend Sterling Black, and I, although Danny had knee issues for a while which didn’t allow him to come this trip. The year was 2016, and Sterling decided to bring his nephew named Birkley, whose mother had just passed away. Also, Moose brought along his work friend Brett Strand from Lifetime Fitness.
The intense salty taste of the ocean lingers on your lips and the poignant smell invades your nose. I believe there is no smell anyplace else on earth that can establish a place as profoundly as the salty air of the ocean, nowhere where the air holds as much fragrance and warmth, nowhere quite like here. Each wave becomes a curling finger, brushing every stone with a gentle caress, creeping up the beach, reaching out to your feet, tickling them, turning them to ice cubes. The placid metronomic
It was the middle of summer and we were at the beach, as people are in the summer. We all have our swimsuits on and where all cooling off, except for Kaileigh who refused to go in past her knees. Hana and Kylin were splashing each other mercilessly and I was just wading in the water, spectating this all out water war. After a few more attacks, I notice someone step onto the sand, Aiden, my long time crush. I stare at him for slightly too long and he looks at me with his alluring, ice blue eyes. Feeling a blush creep onto my cheeks, I turn back to the water variation of World War 1 and it seems the two have come to a truce. I hear a fair amount of noise behind me, I turn to see Aiden and his friends preparing to to get in the water. All five of the fit boys remove their sandals, hats and finally shirts. Aiden yells some inaudible phrase to his friends and speeds towards the water. “He's grown his hair out since I last saw him ” I think to myself as I get lost in the beautiful scene of him running to the water, a sweet smile on his face and his hair trailing behind him slightly. I enjoy this until Kaileigh gets up from her spot on the sand and gets in the water to shake my shoulder.
