Could the killing of an unborn disabled child be considered acceptable in today’s society? Selective infanticide is a very controversial topic that many have argued about over past years. In her article “Unspeakable Conversations” disabilities activist and lawyer Harriet McBryde Johnson demonstrates her viewpoint on this issue. She writes this article as a story, with herself being the narrator. It follows her journey as she feuds with Peter Singer, a Princeton University professor, who has an opposing perspective regarding the killing of unborn disabled children. With this in mind, Johnson reveals her point of view using the strategy of a Rogerian argument and the rhetorical elements of
Ike and Felix give Fadi a rough time at school just because he is muslim. Ike and Felix bully him mentally and physically. They snuck up on him at school and started pushing him around after hearing about 9/11. They started calling him Osama Bin Laden and a terrorist. They tried to fight him but luckily the principle comes just in time. They even threaten him and he is too scared to tell anyone, in fear of making matters worse but not telling anyone is making matters worse. Things kept getting worse when Fadi went back to school one evening to retrieve some film, Ike and Felix ambushed him. Fadi tries to run but Ike was too fast and tackled him onto the rough asphalt. Fadi sprawled on the ground, scraping his hands and knees as he went down. Ike keeps him pinned down and says “Got you, you little terrorist.” Felix comes and rips off his backpack while Ike holds him down. Felix searches through it. After unzipping the bag Ike violently shook it, dumping out its contents and then his camera given by his dad flys out. The camera sailed through the air and hit the black asphalt with a crunch. Broken parts flew everywhere and a huge crack appeared in the lens. Sudden rage surged through him. He grabs Ike and flips him to the ground and he started punching him. Felix pulled him off but Fadi bit him on the shin and drove his head into Felix’s stomach. They both
The Johnny gasped and turned white as a ghost then red with rage. While all of the other boys were looking at the Ponyboy who was drowning, Johnny pulled a knife out of his back pocket, I gasped I knew what he was going to do seconds before he did it. “Wait!” I screamed, but the boy didn’t even acknowledge me. I turned around, I couldn’t watch. This reminded me too much of Yaqui beating me up, but this was different, these boys fought unlike we did. The way we fought it wasn’t killing each other or anything like that, but it was almost worse. Being humiliated in front of the whole school. Both Ponyboy and I got hurt though mine was both mentally and physically. The only other thing that I could see that connected our two lives was that we both fought back. Well actually Johnny fought for Ponyboy, but it’s pretty much the same, in the end the bullies both got what they deserved. No, that’s not true, nobody (even Yaqui Delgado) deserves to die. By the time I turned back around the boys were driving away in their car and the boy who had been killed was slumped on the ground not moving. The other boy; Johnny was helping to pull his friend; Ponyboy out of the water

It was very strange to me that Mr. Wilson didn’t have a lock code on his cell phone. Without a doubt if he would have had a code to get into his phone it would have eliminated Tyler from going through and seeing his pictures. In addition to the Tyler seeing the pictures in the phone, it surprised me to see the student’s reactions to Mr. Wilson relationship with the same sex. I would have assumed after Mr. Wilson spoke to the issue that the students would have been more accepting.
