In the 1970’s many major events happened. Some including the first Earth day, Disney World opening, the Beatles breaking up, and so many more things. Michael Jackson, also, started going solo around this time period. Microsoft and Apple came out during the mid-1970’s. Many things that have changed history.
Apple was founded on April 1, 1976. It was founded in Cupertino, California. The founders are Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. In the fall of 1976, Steve Wozniak started working on a new computer. This computer was to be called Apple II. Unfortunately, Apple started to lack in funds, but they knew they were on to something. In November 1976, Mike Markkula gave the young men advice. When they first opened, in Albuquerque,their first office was in the Albuquerque strip mall with MITS. One major problem Microsoft had when it first opened was hobbyists pirating software. This was a dramatic position to Gates. People were easily stealing all the hard work he put into this company. He gave a speech on this specific topic. “ He was advocating a shift in culture from the friendly sharing of free software among hobbyists to that of an embryonic branch of the packaged-software industry.”(Computer)Then when Microsoft was growing, they moved from Albuquerque to Bellevue, Washington on January 1, 1979.
Then, Microsoft had a chance of meeting with a businessmen, who worked in Japan. The businessmen helped Gates get into the Japanese market. He negotiated a deal with, Kazuhiko Nishi. Nishi also negotiated a deal with a Japanese technology company to build a PC using Microsoft software. This PC was released in September 1979 in Japan, the U.K. and the United States. After the PC was released, they made one million dollars.

In 1980, Jackson won his very first Grammy Award. He got his Grammy for Best R&B Male Vocal Performance. In 1982 and 1983 Jackson released his second solo album, Thriller. It topped the charts for 37 weeks. Seven of the songs on the album went straight to the top, also. There was also a very cool video for the song “Thriller”, which has Michael transform into a werewolf. He, also, shows everyone his signature dance move, the moonwalk. In 1984, Jackson builds a home in Central California, with an amusement park. His land was 2,700 acres. He liked to call his new home and park Neverland.
