“If Donald Trump's plans were ever implemented, the country would sink into a prolonged recession," said former GOP nominee Mitt Romney (Cary). By saying this Romney is trying to convey his strong belief on Trump’s ineligibility to be the president of the United States. The debate on this political issue has been going on since the presidential campaign started last year. While it is true that he won the presidential election, many Americans are still questioning if he’s the right person for their country or not. They have been considering both his personal and professional life. From his relationships to his success. Some say that his ties with other countries can be very beneficial, while others disagree due to his lack of political experience. …show more content…
As O’Connor and Marans revealed, the Justice Department sued his company twice for racial discrimination against black people that were looking to rent apartments in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island (O'Connor and Marans). This clearly suggests that President Trump has had a history of doing several racist things. He broke the 14th amendment which granted equal rights to African Americans. And could a president that himself breaks the constitution, enforce it? Would African Americans be respected under his presidency when he has been discriminating them his entire life? Or would it go back to what it was like in the 1900’s and earlier? Not only does he segregate African Americans but also other people with a different ethnic background as O’Connor and Marans acknowledged it in their article, Here Are 13 Examples of Donald Trump Being Racist “Trump’s retaliation against the parents of a Muslim U.S. Army officer who died while serving in the Iraq War was a clear low point in a campaign full of hateful rhetoric” (O'Connor and Marans). What they are trying to say here is that President Trump has a very low opinion of every person that is not white. In other words, he has the same opinion as the people who enforced segregation in the United States for decades. Ultimately, what is at stake here is equality across the nation. With Trump’s current opinion about people with colored skin, United States could become a segregated country …show more content…
That he has great negotiating skills, which would help America get its way with other countries. However, these reasons that claim that his business skills are enough are overlooking the fact that Trump has a long list of business troubles as stated in the article “Donald Trump’s Many Business Failures, Explained”. This article also stated that lost contracts, bankruptcies, deceptions and indifference to bankers are only a few of the troubles in Trump’s business life. Also, his net worth isn’t accurate either, as he himself admitted that he based his net worths off his “own feelings” which often ended up being wrong (Eichenwald). And as a man who doesn’t have any political experience nor a good or honest history it’s almost impossible to say that he knows how to get things done and could help America
Throughout Donald's life success was not easy for him or his businesses. The Trump organization revealed that it was 5$ billion in debt in 1990, with as much as 1$ billion spent by Donald Personally. With all the casinos, hotels, and cars Trump had to create a bailout system that would allow him to take out two to three mortgages on most of properties. Unsurprisingly Donald Trump filed for bankruptcy four times. Although he was in the hole, he was able to get himself out and with that I think that he wouldn't have been able to make any crucial business decisions without the help of many bankers and lawyers but also the use of a free enterprise system.
Donald Trump before he became the 45th president, his famous campaign motto “Make America Great Again” caught the attention of many Americans, but mostly by white Americans. Trump’s tactics made him a very clever man throughout the election, he had many techniques on how to gain the American vote. Throughout his campaign, he was attentive of the men around him. For example, Trump knew exactly what to say to get the attention of the American people. He already had in mind who he was going to pick in position for foreign policy, national security, and defense (“Donald Trump is the ultimate Machiavellian prince”). With this intention, he brought comfort to Americans, yet the people he was going to pick for these positions all have a common trait, which was all of them are specialist in the Middle East and Russia. Not only, was Trump attentive of America, yet he kept in mind how it was going to affect
Trump may be known for his wealth but many aspects has shown that he is definitely bad in business. As president, being good in business is one of the key aspects to succeed, because you have to handle the whole nation’s financial matters. Trump boasted that he earned his own money, but he isn’t like Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg, who are self-made billionaires who were innovators in their fields. Instead, Trump’s wealth is inherited from his father. Almost all his best-known successes are deducible to family ties or money given to him by his
Donald Trump is a very successful business man that is just trying his hand in politics this election. He was born in Queens, New York on the fourteenth of June in 1946 and later graduated business school at the Warton School of Finance. Other than the acting chairman and president of his own organization, Trump has become a successful author of over 15 bestselling books including “The Art of the Deal.” He is also an Emmy nominee for his show “The Apprentice” which coined the phrase “you’re fired!”(“About Donald J. Trump”). Though he may not have much governing experience, he sure has gotten a lot
President Donald Trump has only been in office for a few months, but a great many people find his plutocratic ways of this country unsustainable. One of those people is Joseph Epstein. Epstein writes in the article “Trump and the Plutocrats Hubris” about how he feels that it is wrong of Tump to think he will be a great president, just because he is a great businessman. In the piece, the author takes a subjective view on the matter and uses rhetorical devices such as diction and hyperboles to try and persuade the reader to think as he does.
Election night was a night of uncertainty. On November 8, 2016, half of America was left in complete shock when several mainstream media outlets reported Donald Trump as the new president-elect. Everyone wanted to know what the future of America would be. Numerous celebrities took to social media to encourage individuals to protest for what is right. Not only did African-Americans protest but so did whites and many other minorities. We fear that he will be very reckless with foreign leaders, enslave black people again, and also continue his rash comments via Twitter. Like many others in my community, I believe that anyone who thinks he is unfit to be president should continue to
The election of the president is something that each of us should take part in, because that is how we decide the future of our county. Everybody knows that this election period is very close in The United of States America and people all around the world are talking about the candidates, discussing their past and promises about the improvements in the economics and other aspects of everyday life of the American citizens. So in today’s article we are going to discuss one candidate for President, a person from the Republican Party, whose name is Donald Trump.
Remember 2012 when Mitt Romney ran for president? We all thought that it was the end of the world and that Romney would be the final downfall of America. Now it’s 2016 and there’s a new “Mitt Romney,” but this time it’s totally different. Donald Trump is someone who people either glorify or are terrified at the thought of this man “making America great again.” Most people think that Donald Trump is “brutally honest” or is extremely humourous. The people who think that Trump is funny are not looking at what he could do. The people who agree with Trump’s views are not looking at how it could affect so many people looking up to America which is perceived as a chance for change and hope. Maybe I’m being bias because I am the child of an Mexican
e is extremely successful and sophisticated, his presidential talks were able to resonant with American and that made him win the campaign. However, many people were furious about the fact that Trump was able to deceive everyone and won the campaign because they knew Trump was always wearing a mask whenever he appeared on public and they knew how selfish, greedy and arrogant he was in private. Trump believed that wealth is the only standard to measure a person’s value, he was dismissive of people who were poor. In many of his interviews, he mentioned he was extremely rich, but he always used tricks to avoid paying his employees and many of his employees had sued him for not paying them. When people brought it up during the presidential debate,
Will Donald Trump fulfill America’s request and actually “make America great again”? When friends of mine who are Trump supporters inform me that they support him, I don’t understand the reasons why they picture him as our future president of the united states. Donald Trump has never been an elected official. He has never been elected into an office of any kind. He’s never had to broker political compromise or gave any political speeches prior to him running for president. With no experience in politics at all, why would people think he’d make a good president? Sure, Donald Trump is a barefaced self-promoter and experienced businessman. But people don’t realize all of the mistakes he has made as a businessman. Washington, D.C., is not a type of Wall Street or anything for him to lose money or make some reckless decisions that would put our country into a deeper hole that we are already into, and also getting multiple things done within the nation’s capital takes more than a huge personality and a strong will. If Donald Trump is elected to be our president, he’ll have to quickly learn how to deal with his Democratic associates in the House of Representatives and Senate. He’ll also have to get used to the pace of government because there are moments when things can accelerate pretty quickly and also where things can move extremely slow at times. He’ll also have to get used to giving speeches on topics
Donald J. Trump will be the next president of the United States. Continuously throughout the election process, pundits and commoners alike dismissed even the slightest possibility of a Trump victory for a host of reasons. The most glaring of which was that he had no political experience, followed closely by the fact that he consistently spewed hateful rhetoric directed at nearly every demographic imaginable, save for white men. Nevertheless, as the election drew closer, the number of his supporters grew and became increasingly loyal. Indeed, his faction was so loyal that he even boasted, "I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn 't lose voters" (Diamond). It seemed as if no matter how many sexist, racist, xenophobic, etcetera, remarks he made, that his supporters weren 't merely indifferent; they were rejoicing at his "honesty." Furthermore, many of Trump 's Draconian policies, although hard to pin down, given that he was always wavering, were often at the expense of women, Muslims, and other minorities (Timm). Meanwhile, those opposed to Trump, regardless of who they endorsed, were astounded as to how, in such a diverse country, a man who disrespected so many people could garner so much support. From another perspective, many were bewildered that there were so many Americans who somehow still believed that not every human deserves equal rights. Rather than articulate their viewpoints eloquently, many Trump supporters standoffishly claimed
Trump: the Art of the Deal is both a biography and business handbook from the world’s most prominent businessman, now President of the United States, Donald J. Trump. Donald Trump, in partnership with Mark Schwartz has written this book in a simplistic, but informative manner that allows a straightforward understanding of Trump’s business principles and experiences to be conveyed to the reader. Trump demonstrates this simplicity in Chapter 2: “I like thinking big. I always have. To me it’s very simple: if you’re going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big. Most people think small, because most people are afraid of success, afraid of decisions, afraid of winning. And that gives people like me a great advantage” (46).
Donald John Trump is not short on controversy and criticism when it comes to his outspoken persona and views on certain issues. Hence the reasons why I chose to write about Donald Trump. However, to give credit Trump had success of developing businesses such as real estate. A spotlight has been hovering over him for the majority of his years because of his status among society. With his notoriety in his show “The Apprentice”, he became not only a businessman, but also a celebrity through television. Trump indeed has influences in the entertainment, business and political world which makes him a solid candidate for the 2016 presidential run. His charisma and his ambitious, yet controversial personality is what drove me to choose to write about him.
“Donald Trump being a good president” Donald Trump is the right president for the huge role even though the role is huge his job is the perfect role for him some reasons of this are he has been running a business now for many years and he does it well another reason is he is committed to his job and the third reason is He is a successful business man he has been running a business for many years so is that not just the same as running a country an example of Donald Trump’s being a good business man is when he “‘Mr. Trump has underperformed the real estate market by approximately $13.2 billion, or 57%,’ since 1976, says John Griffin, a finance professor at the University of Texas, who compared Trump’s stated net worth with four decades of
Trump is a successful business man. That let a lot of people in America to vote for him, during his candidacy Trump work to increase their popularity. When Donald Trump decided to nominate himself to be president he become a joke of TV shows and the majority of the American society, because he did not have any experience
