The concept of critical thinking in my eyes basically means thinking outside the box! In other words, means to think about the topic or situation in another way then what the specific reason should be. I think we all think outside the box and we think that a certain situation should be done another way. For example, I work in the claims department for life insurance and I code a lot of different reasons for cause of death. When I look at a death certificate there are multiple reasons to why the insured has passed away from but I need to be specific on the cause of death. I have to think outside the box about the main reason why the insured passed away from what illness and then start coding it from the different causes they have had listed
Critical thinking occurs when a person thinks about a subject or problem to where the development of the quality of ones very own psychological process of actively and skillfully applying, analyzing, and gauging information to come up with an answer or decision. A few important skills that is learned through critical thinking is learning how to discipline oneself in thinking, understanding the world as well as learning themselves. While using Critical thinking in your academic career path while other benefiting from your answer or idea.

Critical thinking is the process of rationally analyzing and attempting to solve a problem accurately without guessing. The first step in critical thinking is to understand the problem thoroughly which will allow you to restate the problem in different ways to learn about it and other related issues and where to look for possible solutions.
Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skilfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing and/or evaluating information gathered from or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. (Foundation for Critical Thinking, 2011) Critical thinking consists of elements such as reasoning and intellectual standards that enable logical analysis to take place thus leading to impartial conclusions. It is through applying intellectual standards to reasoning however that critical thinking can take place.
Critical thinking’s meaning to me is a very well-disciplined thinking process of an individual who skillfully, analyzing and evaluating. A process from information gathered from information given to an individual. It also is coming from communication, observations and past experiences that the individual has experienced from the past. Critical thinking allows you to think and ask yourself the right questions so that you can reach the best conclusion.
Critical thinking is all about asking questions that help you access meaning or significant of claims and arguments. Building these skills and applying them in your life makes it easy for you to assess evidence, evaluate arguments and adopt your thinking. Consequently, you will stay switched on and engage in different situations. Critical thinking evolves stepping back from the situation to make you see all the angles before making judgments or taking decisions.
The group can now ask questions regarding any part of the dream that was not explained clearly. When responding to the questions the dreamer should not try to explain anything that was not in the dream. At this time no associations or meanings should be considered or offered. The group should respect the fact that images in dreams are sometimes illogical, puzzling or make no sense to them. Critical-thinking abilities in reading instruction allow individuals to analyze, evaluate, and personally and creatively react to information presented in a text passage based on their own prior knowledge and past experiences (Blair, 2013, pg. 96). A student with critical thinking will be able to hypothesize, summarize, judge, look for assumptions, and imagined (Blair, 2013). However, critical thinking doesn’t develop by itself. If the students ae no instructed to think critically, they simply will not do so (Blair, 2013, pg. 96).
For me critical thinking is a very important topic, it is actually being covered in my English course also. Without critical thinking we would limit ourselves. In our text book it states that “Critical thinking, or the ability to think clearly, rationally, and independently, is one of the foundations of scientific reasoning.” Without this a lot of what we know in the world would not be possible because nobody would be thinking outside the box. Critical thinking is the reason a lot of our technology exists, there were people willing to take chances and think indecently to solve issues, or find new ways to do things more efficiently. It is clearly one of the most important traits for a person to have.
One example is on how to lower the tone of my voice in the middle of a discussion when the recipients do not listen to explanations. How to help irate clients understand the dilemma in such a way situations should be avoided to be escalated into a higher authority. She had taught me how to resolve concerns in an orderly manner. Furthermore, she told me not to take problems personally.

Critical thinking is a skill that must be nurtured and honed; it is easy to skip steps in the process thereby leading to inefficiencies in design or product.
