I work in a synergistic manner, thus I am able to effectively communicate with all members of the school community, while ensuring professionalism is of upmost priority. In addition, I am a doctoral candidate, working on obtaining a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, San Bernardino. I am an esteemed resource to any educational organization, as I demonstrate expertise in the following areas: special education policies and law, positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBiS), applied behavior analysis (ABA), composing and conducting professional developments, restorative justice practices, curriculum design, research and data analysis, program evaluation, executing collaborative Individualized Education Programs, and Behavior Intervention Plans. In conclusion, I support the notion of proactive interventions and provisions, as they create effective pathways to a higher quality of life for students with disabilities, therefore supporting each student, their families, the surrounding community, and district needs are my
“School made us ‘literate’ but did not teach us to read for pleasure.” -Ambeth R. Ocampo
At this point in my life I find myself in an interesting predicament regarding my attitudes toward reading and writing; more so towards reading. Years ago I used to love reading books for pleasure but nowadays I find myself reading things that little to no effort to digest. This includes the very basic posts on facebook expressing one’s opinion on something or articles and threads on reddit discussing topics I find intriguing. Perhaps it’s the severe senioritis that has overcome me as I enter my last semester at Chapman University. As I’ve gotten lazier I can see it start to reflect in my everyday life. Deep down I still love to read but I rarely find myself getting truly invested into the action unless it relates to something I am very
Writing has always been my most difficult part of English. Reading, on the other hand, is something I could do all day; however, with writing, I grimace just thinking about it. It was not that I did not have anything to say, because I actually have quite a bit to say. I just could never figure out how to phrase what I had to say in just right way on the page. My mom taught me to read and write at a young age. After that, I would devour any book that I could get my hands on. However, I have had trouble with writing since it became more than just my alphabet and numbers.
I palpated the presumptuous malignant lump in my right upper abdominal area over, and over again. At the time I was ten years-old and thought that maybe I was delirious at one in the morning. The lump would not disappear. I palpated so often that the skin became tender with a single touch. I was terrified of a simple little lump in my body. A little lump that was capable of making an even larger impact on my life. It may seem rare that a ten year-old was constantly assessing their entire body for lumps, but it was a ritual for me every night before bed. At ten years-old I was fascinated with the quickly developing disease called cancer. Books and movies involving cancer fascinated me and was often my favorite to witness.
As I am trying to beat the clock, seconds turned into minutes and minutes turned into hours, and nonetheless did I knew, it was already eleven post meridiem. My eyes are desperately yearning for sleep, but my brain is forcing myself to continue, because it knows there is more books assignments and quizzes for AP Psychology, AP Art History, AP Chemistry, AP Calculus, AP Language and Composition, and Academic Decathlon just waiting on my desk. Desperately typing the last few words on my essay and simultaneously reading the last few pages of my history book, I finally succeed with a mere two minutes before James Harden appear on the Late Late Show, and I finally go to sleep. Nonetheless did I know, this was only the beginning, the real race is
I’m Afghan, and me and my siblings are first generation born in America. I do not pass as white, and neither do any of my family members. We have dark hair, olive toned skin, and are all very hairy. Every single one of us. Knowing I look different than my peers has contributed to a feeling of otherness whenever I’m around my friends who do look traditionally white. It’s an uneasy feeling that is hard to push away and always lingers. However, I haven't always felt like this. When I was in kindergarden I was a big fan of skirts. I wore them all the time. One time, i was sitting down when we had some free time and I remember looking at my bare legs. At the time, It took me a moment to realize my legs looked very different from the
I have had the opportunity to work with students in both the sub-separate and general education classroom to enhance students learning through their least restrictive environment. The working and teaching experience has allowed me to carry out the dedication that the Special Education program has for the students with disabilities in the current school system. I have been able to help students achieve educational success through providing a safe-learning environment for all students and helping students assessing curriculum and reach their full potential by promoting and supporting students diverse learning

Story telling is a uniquely human attribute. It is an imaginative process between the composer and responder that invites us, as the audience to engage vicariously with the experience of others. Stories or narratives have been shared in all culture as a mean of education, entertainment and also to notify the audience of the values and belief systems of our culture. On 23Nov16 at 1026 hrs. I, Deputy Halbasch, received a voicemail from Dewayne regarding the incident.
After a competitive brawl of a game with grass stains on my knees, jersey, and socks; with sweat drenching my hair and clothes, as if I just took a shower, I began to walk over to a table set up amongst the fans. They wait anxiously for my team to walk over after our big win. Each one of my teammates including myself are set at a table close to the bleachers, which set adjacent from the players bench across the pitch. I set down by my new set of teammates, as we got ready to sign posters for children with aspirations to play at collegiate level soccer one day, for parents and grand parents who couldn?t be more honored to be witnessing their little girls hard work finally paying off. It was recent that I experienced this
My morning interview with a resource room teacher provided me with a wealth of vital information that will assist me in my future career. As I sat at length and spoke with Mrs. Provost, asking her questions that revealed the inner workings of her job and the various facets that accompany it, the same thought kept entering my mind “someday this going to be me”, and I could not be happier. While Mrs. Provost willingly and patiently answered each question I realized the obligation of educating in the department of special education is challenging at times. The commitment is tremendous, but when a student with any form of social or academic disability thrives under the direction of a special education teacher’s leadership, the end result can be
I was born in Bogota, Colombia. During my childhood schooling years I attended Gimnasio de Los Cerros in Bogota. Attending secondary schooling in Colombia prepared me well for my academic pursuits in the United States. Through my studies, my fondness of mathematics continued to grow. On my pursuit of scholastic success mathematical equations found its persuasive way to speak to me. It is for this reason I have chosen for my career to follow the pathway in relation to mathematics. But even more so, what would ultimately lay down the roots of my personal character was the death of my father at the age of three. As years passed by I came to understand I was now “the man of the house”. I do not reflect back at death of my father as being something

Children have a tendency to bring out the very best in people. I can say I have been fortunate to have four little blessings of my own. I consider each of them as a blessing and each day I am reminded of how much they mean to me. My children have brought out the best in me--parts that I never knew existed. As children grow, so do parents. I have evolved into a better person with the courage to overcome all obstacles because of the love that I have for my children.
