These fats and oils actually go a long way in increasing your body fat. This can actually make you get heart related diseases. It can also lead to obesity and so on. This is the reason why you should avoid excess fats and oils. Some people have actually died as a result of heart related diseases such as high blood pressure and so on. It is important that you avoid taking foods containing saturated fats in them.

After comparing my diet to Kelley Watson’s diet I believe that even though my diet was not healthy Kelly Watson’s diet was a lot worse than mine. The reason I state this is because she hardly consumed any of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients that a person’s diet should consume. In my opinion, I think that my diet would have to be the healthier one because in my diet there were vegetables, minerals and a small amount of nutrients that the body must have in a daily live. My recommended DRI for fiber is 38g a day and on day one I consumed 20g of fiber, day two I had consumed 22g, and on day three I had taken in 22g again. I had fallen short on my daily fiber intake over the three days of my diet study. To increase my fiber I could eat some carrots for a snack in the afternoon or have an apple or orange with my breakfast in the mornings. I could also have some pinto beans with dinner to increase my fiber or I could eat oatmeal for breakfast and increase my fiber intake even more by putting chopped fruit in the oatmeal.

A lot of the popular trend diet and nutrition programs boast about severely limiting entire categories ' of macronutrients if not completely eliminating them. If you don 't know, your body relies on macronutrients (Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats) for energy and they 're imperative to growth, brain function, metabolism, and a number of other body functions.
My protein DRI was to stay within 55-193g of which I consumed 72 g still within the recommend range for my individual parameters. Proteins are essential for growth, tissue repair, and enzyme protection (Cespedes, 2012). This project was eye-opening as I realized the need to manage and balance what I eat with my physical activity to offset my consumption intakes.

As most know, maintaining a fairly healthy diet is important to the human body. When an individual consumes a balanced diet, it comes with many advantages opposed to disadvantages. Most believe that only a decent number of vitamins and minerals are what consist of a balanced diet, however, eating enough macronutrients is important too. Macronutrients are those that are needed most by the body, which includes proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates (Berning). Ultimately, when a person eats the proper quantity and quality of food each day it provides a great amount of benefits along with providing a healthy weight. When eating healthy, which a diet may include whole grains rather than refined grains, limited fatty meats, low-fat dairy products, vegetables, and fruit – it boosts your energy level tremendously (Healthy). Similarly, makes an individual in a better mood and helps prevents particular diseases caused by poor eating habits. These diseases may include type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and even depression (Healthy). I conducted a minor experiment, which required me to keep a food log. Based on the food log, it informed me of where I lacked in terms of macronutrients, micronutrients, and more. Throughout this experiment I made a few minor changes to my diet, however, these changes could make a difference to my health.
Nutrition is an important issue in my life for many reasons. The most important being my major, dental hygiene. I’ve taken a couple nutrition courses already. I also simply care for the fact that what we eat is associated with our health and how long we may live. Before I went to the website I didn’t expect to see many healthy benefits to eating McDonalds so I guess I was prepared. It said that McDonald’s food is linked to serious diseases because of the high fat and low fiber content. I know from my nutrition classes in the past that a low fiber diet is linked obesity, diabetes, arteriosclerosis, colon cancer, and many more things. The purpose of a nutritional assessment is to analyze what one has been consuming, as well as the dietary nutrients contained in the food. For the past seven days, I have kept a dietary record documenting the different foods, drinks and medications that I have consumed. In this paper I will discuss body mass index or BMI, the analyzation of the foods consumed, the reason behind the quantity of the foods eaten, the strengths and weaknesses in my food intake, my physical and emotional feelings, medical conditions, cultural influence, diet plan, and goals along with implementation strategies to reach the goal.
Malnutrition caused by the deprivation of certain essential nutrients can be life threatening. There are two types of poor nutrition related to deprivation of nutrients. Malnutrition is characterized by not eating enough calories or consuming enough energy for the body to work properly. The importance of proper nutrition shows as early as the formation of an embryo during fetal development. Without the consumption of essential vitamins and minerals by the mother a fetus will be unable to develop properly, if at all. Also, the mother will be more likely to have complications with her own health during the pregnancy if malnutrition occurs.
