“What are you going to be for Halloween?” my friend Alexa asked as we walked down the hallway carrying our boatload of text books for science class. “Ugh, I don’t see why we have to use text books when we have all this technology. We could be using techbooks or something.” “I’m with ya” I said pulling my textbooks closer to me. “I’m going to be a skeleton bride” I replied to her first question. “I can’t believe Halloween is tonight!” I commented excitedly. “Hey wait up!” my friend Mallory yelled as she came running over. “It stinks that I have social studies, not science,” BRIIIIINNNNNGGGGG! In science class we were doing an experiment with explosive chemicals, well explosive if you put them in the cup in the wrong order, that is. I was …show more content…
“Thank you.” Alexa said sweetly. “Your mom should be here shortly, ah, there she is” she said as my mom walked down the hall. My mom looked very nice. She had a long orange skirt with a black tank top with an orange shrug over it. “You look very nice tonight Mrs. Friedman.” “Thank you Alexa, and you look very nice tonight yourselves girls” my mom said. As we walked out side something weird happened. We all heard a big ROAR! We looked over to see a dark figure rising from the ground, and the mall being infested by robots. “I have a feeling this is not going to be a normal Halloween.” I said as Mallory caught up with us and we all stared off watching what was happening, knowing we had to do something… “C’mon,” I said running towards the disaster, “We have to do something,” I finished in between breaths. They caught up with me looking at me in disbelief. “Why are we doing this?” Alexa said glaring at me. “I mean, it’s not our problem…” I cut her short.” We want to help people have a good Halloween, right????” I asked her inquiringly. Once at the mall we, short of breath, went inside to a terrifying sight. Everything was being taken over by robots! People were cowering in corners holding shopping bags. Workers in shops were hiding behind desks, and robots were holding clubs form the club
‘Halloween (monsters)’ is a poem written and performed by four girls of the 2013 DC Youth Slam Team, a youth program of the social justice & activism non-profit, Split This Rock. ‘Halloween’ is about the views of women and how some aspects of society tend to objectify women because of their discomfort of an empowering woman. It is based on the societal issues of inequality, objectification, empowerment, and acceptance. The theme of ‘overcoming challenges’ is first presented in this text when the girls say “Society is trying to squeeze the fantasy out of us. Turn our feminine fatal so this year l think I'll be MONSTER”. Another part that links to this is when they say “Finessing curves into eye candy instead of masterpiece 'American' beauty turned apple pie cutie”.
As I walked into the Petaluma Health Center it dawns on me that it was Halloween. Edwin and I were not informed that everyone would be dressing up for the day. We ran into Amy and were told that we would have an office for the day. This was a pleasant surprise because we have been working in the break area the last couple of weeks. The quiet of this office allowed Edwin and I to work on parts of our presentation. Our main goal for the day was to meet up with Gabb a member of Vet Connect.
Jenna felt her stomach begin to growl and she thought of the dinner her father had prepared for them before he’d left for work. Spaghetti and meatballs with cheesy garlic bread, her absolute favorite. The very thought of it was now making Jenna 's mouth water as she licked her lips in hunger. She silently wished that she would have eaten earlier with her father back when he had just finished cooking it. That was right before he had kissed her on the cheek, told her he loved her, and headed off to work the night shift as a paramedic at Saint Christopher 's Hospital. But, she was too excited about Halloween to eat just then, the anticipation of trick-or-treating being such a short time away filling her every thought with joy. She was a
On a dark and creepy day on Halloween night some kids were going trick or treating but not all of them. Except the three Jameson kids who decided to stay home this year. The oldest boy’s name is Tommy, the middle child is a girl and her name is Sara lastly the youngest boy’s name is Tyrone. Before the permission from their mom, she has warned them about the missing kids who didn't decide to participate in Halloween last year who went off to do whatever they wanted and were missing so she is hopeful that they are not planning on going anywhere this halloween. An hour passed by and they realized that it was only 11:00 and Halloween wasn’t over yet. On the other hand, they were not even receiving candy so Tommy has come up with an idea that instead of staying in the house empty handed; he has something else in mind. Maybe we can sneak out the house and go to the haunted mansion by the gloomy corn field. Sarah did not agree, but it will be better than staying in the house. Tyrone agrees with anything but he just wants a piece of candy before the night is over.
“ Hey John, Lilly, and Susan your costumes look great. Are you ready for some trick or treating”, Donald ask.
“Why did you just stop once you got around the corner! You knew I was coming!” I shrieked with a sudden burst of rage from the pain.
Welcome, to Worlds Of Fun on Halloween night. Worlds Of Fun is an amusement theme park in Kansas City. On Halloween they turn the tables from fun to horrifying. Their goal is to scare you greatly into submission so that we can't continue but, we continue anyways because of the thrills and the explosion of adrenaline it brings us. The amusement park in my eyes is one of the most horrifying in the world.
“We make sure that the costumes are bright and colourful and that the kids have fun. Our older kids will dress up as spirits and vampires, so that will be exciting to see.”
It was a fine Halloween evening. My parents were at a Halloween party and left my nine year old sister, Scarlett, and I home alone. We sat down on the couch to watch a movie. “ What do you want to watch? “ I asked my sister.
As we screwed around, waiting for the light to fade before we hit the streets in search of candy. We reminisced about how we ravaged my neighborhood in past halloweens, leaving no stone unturned in search of that sweet sugary goodness. We were excited as we had never been given this much range before, as my parents would usually give a us a curfew, with his parents not caring if we stayed out till dawn. I had never experienced so much freedom being the sheltered child I was causing myself to internally scream of excitement.
Halloween! A spooky time to celebrate and make great memories. You get candy, or you hang out, or you go somewhere… Anyways, Halloween is a great time! But sometimes Halloween can go a little wrong.
A week went by, and now it was the day before Halloween, the day we decided we would go to Swank Farms. Luke’s mom came to our houses and picked us up, and then we left for Swank Farms. It was a bit of a drive to Hollister, but we got there eventually. When we got there, Luke’s mom
Ghosts, goblins, witches and werewolves all come to life on the most awaited holiday of the year for children: Halloween. Simply stated, I love Halloween. The candy, costumes, and terror do not drive my love for the holiday as much as the tradition my family and I established. Trick or treating with my family not only included arriving home with more candy than I should consume in a year but also devouring a happy meal from McDonald’s. I cherish this tradition because of its bonding nature, and I clearly remember the night we began this tradition.
When I arrived at the park, Emma ran towards me and whispered “Sarah, thank heavens you’re here, I thought you wouldn't come after all”. I hugged her. “No, I wouldn’t leave you here alone”, I said, only half joking. We both giggled and slowly headed towards the party.
Those were my thoughts as I approached the massive wood doors of my towering school building. Full-grown trees swayed around me, their leaves gently tumbling towards the frost-covered ground. Bricks of red stood in front of me as I hopped up each stone step, observing the exuberant emotions of people standing nearby. Inside were walls decorated with Halloween paintings made from the young kindergartens, and primaries. Students dressed in their newly bought costumes paraded around speaking and laughing with each other, all giddy about this afternoon’s exciting events such as trick-or-treating and attending Halloween parties. I don’t do such things, for reading under the covers of my bed is much more thrilling.
