Health Promotion This is the process of allowing people to have more control over their health as this will help improve their health and well-being. It focuses on individual behaviour towards a wide range of social and interventions. Health promotion is how health is shown for example to challenge obesity change 4 life is used so people can have a guidance on how to make their lifestyle healthier. It also shows that health promotion is aimed at individuals whose health is at risk from any diseases from lifestyle factors, which lets individuals take control over their health. By being able to have control over their health it shows individuals what may have happened if nothing was done of it

P2 – Explain the potential effects of five different life factors, on the development of an individual

The government White Paper (2006) focuses on the need for individualised care and calls for service to be tailored around the needs of the individual and not the service provider. It aims to place the individual in control of their life and promote independence, by providing a more flexible service, with a view to a reaching and fulfilling a healthy old age. In addition, violence, stress and abuse which pose a threat to an individual’s overall well being, must be identified and addressed. This essay provides a written account of the holistic assessment used when admitting a patient onto a respiratory ward. A brief outline is also included of the processes involved together with the resources used for collating information. Using the Roper, Logan and Tierney activities of daily living (ADL’s), eating and drinking, has been identified as one goal of nursing care. Personally, I believe that Quality Healthcare is something that can be measured and improved with time in order to provide better service and quality to our patients. Examples of good Quality Healthcare are: ensuring that medical professionals are licensed and knowledgeable in their profession and are staying up to date with developing diseases, treatments, and last but certainly not least, pharmaceutical alternatives.
