Throughout the course of time, politicians have used the media to promote their platform. Now, in this modern age, Twitter has proved to be a dominant platform for presidential candidates. But who are these two rival politicians, how do they campaign, and who outperforms the other?
The two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton is the democratic nominee, she is the former Secretary of State under the Obama Administration. Donald Trump is the republican nominee. a successful american businessman. Both actively campaign for their position in the white house. While they both use Twitter, neither campaign exactly as the other.

One example from Hillary’s twitter, which Hillary retweeted, “I’ve released 9 years of tax returns. RT if you agree it’s time for Donald Trump to release his!” (@Ted Cruz), Hillary forces the issue, pushing Trump to release his tax returns while planting seeds of distrust against Trump. Another tweet appealing to emotion, “Trump on Alicia, 1996: ‘Miss Piggy.’ This morning: ‘She gained a massive amount of weight...it was a real problem.’” (@HillaryClinton). I believe Hillary is more adept at establishing credibility, with her use of retweeting thoughts, but Trump’s pathos is certainly stronger than Hillary’s. Both flounder in the face of Logos, although given the medium, Logos is rather difficult to use. Trump does promote himself using twitter, through Hashtags for topics, but Hillary succeeds at using twitter to it’s fullest as she also retweets. With this in mind, I would give the name of better rhetorician to Hillary.
