Homelessness In America

Imagine how much more empowered the worker and lower income individuals would be if they didn't have or need to fear losing everything even if they’re getting fired. The United States has a lot of money probably trillion's or more dollars, which I believe is usually spent on war or sending troops to other country's for war when they are many citizens and people in the America losing their job. I know that there are a lot of people who probably quite there job, but those are the people I'm talking about I’m talking about the ones who get lay-end off, The United States I believe has a lot of money and a lot of people wanting help special form their government most of them can’t prove for their self so they need others to help, there isn’t really a reason why we could not solve poverty and homelessness, or even care for the many mentally ill who being on the streets either because they can’t keep their jobs or because they can’t provide for themselves.

Do you think there is to little homeless shelters? People died on the streets for being to hot or too cold. Americans starve to death because living on the streets. There should be more homeless shelters in America to get people off the streets forever to help people who need it to make America a better place.

While health care in America is slowly improving, are we leaving people behind? Imagine waking up day and night with an infection that has no possibility of healing. Homeless individuals face this reality on a daily basis. For decades, America has been fighting to decrease and eventually eliminate homelessness. However, with the decline in employment opportunities and an increase in living cost, living the “American Dream” is now becoming a nightmare. Due to the rough culture of homelessness, individuals affected by homelessness cannot access medication as easily compared to the average middle-class citizen. Even with the advancement of the world’s richest country, there are still a large percentage of homeless individuals without essential necessities.

In January 2015 there were 564,708 homeless in the US. They were all sleeping in the streets, emergency shelter or transitional housing. This paper is about why and what we should and could do to help the homeless.

Unfortunately, many individuals are without homes or living in overloaded shelters. While this is an increasing problem in America, many neglect the existence of it. For the past four years in the month of November, I have spent numerous nights in a cardboard box to raise awareness for this problem. To begin, I first gather donations from locals who support me spending fifteen hours in a box in the harshening autumn weather. Then, on behalf of my local transitional living center, I donate the money I raise to them, which in return gives them enough money to keep the shelter open for at least eleven additional months.

Families live, die and are born on the streets of vast cities of United States. Less attention are shown to those who are homeless, people focus more on bigger issues when this is a major problem that has occurred for years. Statistics shows that 1.6 million youth run away from home each year between the ages of 12 and 17. There are 7.125 billion people in the world. 3.25 million of those people live in the United States and 564,708 of those people are homeless. They live on the streets and disturb the peace by asking for food or money as people rush through the city. A simple solution to the homeless problem in America is to make them live in landfills.
