In the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Romeo, a Montague, and Juliet, a Capulet, meet each other and fall deeply in love. From the moment they fell in love they wanted to be together forever and because of the many issues around them, Romeo Juliet always found them helpless. Family, friends and feuds impacted Romeo and Juliet's decision and let to their suicides. Although family, friend and feuds impacted Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet, Lady Capulet and the Nurse impacted Romeo and Juliet's decisions and led to them committing their suicides. The decisions that Lord Capulet made impacted Romeo and Juliet's decisions and led to their suicides. Lord Capulet arranging his daughter marriage led to Romeo and Juliet's into committing their suicides. In the beginning of the play, Paris, the prince cousin wanted to marry Juliet. Lord Capulet told him that he dad to woo her and that if he did he can marry her. But then Lord Capulet changed his mind. “ Monday, ha ha! Well, …show more content…
When Lord Capulet arranged the marriage, Juliet's mother basically left her all alone in the cold. “Ay, sir, but she will none, she gives you thanks.I would the fool were married to her grave.”(3.5.144-145). Juliet told her mother that she didn’t want to marry Paris that she would rather die. Lady Capulet took it upon herself to tell Capulet that Juliet didn’t want to get married and that led to a huge arguement. “Talk not to me, for I’ll not speak a word. Do as thou wilt, for I have done with thee”(3.5.214-215). Juliet tells her mother that if she doesn't get her out of the marriage she will kill herself and her mother tells her that she doesn't care because she had to do it to. In result of that response Juliet turned to the Friar looking for a way to get out of the marriage which requires her to fake her
Everyone has their different opinions on who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet is about two people that fall in love from two different families who are in a feud with each other. Lord Capulet is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because when Romeo was at the Capulet part he didn’t let Tybalt do anything to make Romeo leave. Reason two is he is the one that planned for Juliet to get married to Paris without her consent. The third reason is because after Juliet says okay to marrying Paris (going along with the Friar’s plan), Lord Capulet tries moving the wedding day up to Wednesday instead of Thursday.
When telling the tragic, but beloved story of Romeo and Juliet from one of William Shakespeare’s many plays there are several characters in the story that could possibly be held responsible for the star-crossed lovers deaths. Three of those many characters should stand out more than others to blame for the beloved main characters deaths. These three characters are the Feud, Lady Capulet, and Fate. The Feud is one choice to blame because it it the cause of many other conflicts that take place in the story. While Lady Capulet does not cause as many conflicts as the Feud she does present one main problem to Juliet by pressuring her to get married to Paris as soon as possible. Lastly Fate is used many times in the play to explain why Romeo and
Lord Capulet and Paris have some similar opinions of Juliet's marriage and so do Romeo and Friar which also influenced the end of the story negatively. Capulet thinks that Juliet should be married to Paris and Paris agrees with him. “But woo her, gentle Paris, get her heart” (1.2.16) and Paris says “Younger than she are happy mothers made” (1.2.12). This means that Capulet is encouraging Paris to get Juliet’s heart and Paris influences him by telling him younger woman than her are married and happy mothers. This determines that the two of them want Juliet to get married to Paris because Capulet tells
The play, Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is about a tragedy of two star crossed lovers who want nothing more than to be together forever. “…Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” (2.2.35-36) Romeo, a Montague, who is young and passionate, meets Juliet at a Capulet party. When they meet, it’s love at first sight. Juliet, a Capulet, is a beautiful young lady tired of being controlled by her father, Lord Capulet. The two families are in a never ending feud that comes between Romeo and Juliet’s love. In the course of four and a half days, Romeo and Juliet plan their marriage with the help of Priest Friar Laurence and Juliet’s Nurse. After the couple is married,
Some may say Capulet wouldn’t have been the only one to protest Romeo and Juliet’s marriage, but he had the final say in Juliet’s life. Lord Capulet, “Send for the county.; Go tell him of this. I’ll have this knot knit up tomorrow morning.”(IV. ii. 21-22) If Lord Capulet never moved up the wedding, there would have been more time for the news to travel to Romeo. Many people argue that he was doing it for right reasons, that his decision was for the better of the family and he did it unintentionally, but it was still his fault for forcing this marriage so suddenly on Juliet. It is Lord Capulets fault because he is too protective over Juliet. Some people may say Juliet could have just stood up to her father and tell him straight forward how she wanted to marry Romeo and not Paris, however, he was just so overbearing and possessive, she was too nervous to come forward and say it. Lord Capulet. “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch! I tell thee to a church Thursday or never after look at me in the face.” (III. v. 180-183) By Lord Capulet being so strict with Juliet, moving up the wedding, and being too protective, Juliet was forced to make up an incredibly dangerous plan, leading to the young couple committing suicide.
At first, Lord Capulet wants Juliet to decide if she wants Paris. Then later, Capulet wants cheer Juliet up, after her cousin Tybalt dies. He decides to arrange a marriage between her and Paris. Juliet is actually more upset over her husband, Romeo, for being banished. Later, Lady Capulet breaks the news to Juliet about her marriage to Paris and Juliet is very unhappy. Lady Capulet tells Lord Capulet about her reaction and he gets very angry. Capulet gets into a big argument with Juliet. He threatens Juliet that she will marry Paris or die on the streets ( Act III, Scene V, Lines 160 - 195). Juliet’s parents and even her servant, who helped marry Romeo, really want her to marry Paris. Juliet, becoming desperate to stop her marriage, goes to Friar Lawrence and they make up a risky plan. This plan ultimately leads to her and Romeo’s
“History is history. What is done is done” said Sister Souljah. The play “ Romeo and Juliet “ by William Shakespeare is about two teen from rival families that fall in love with each other but find out they can not be together; which ends in a tragic ending. Lord Capulet is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death for three reasons. He doesn't let his daughter explain herself and is controlling over her. First, he practically wants Juliet to give up her life to someone she doesn't even like. Second, when Juliet states that she doesn't want to marry Paris, his response is very harsh. Third, he moves the wedding up, which causes Juliet to panic and go to Friar Lawrence for help.
The person to blame is Lord Capulet for the deaths of young Romeo and Juliet. There are lots of reasons on way he is to blame. One of the reasons is that he let Romeo stay at Capulet party.Tybalt told Lord Capulet to kick Romeo out of the party because he can’t tolerate Romeo. But Lord Capulet said Romeo is staying and he is a nice gentlemen and he should tolerate Romeo. If Lord Capulet kicked Romeo out of the party Romeo would have never met Juliet. If Lord Capulet handed the invititaion letter to someone who could read the clown would have never ran into Romeo and Mercutio. It is also Lord Capulets fault for never talking to Juliet.Lord Capulet should have did some work on his servent to see if any of them could read so he could gave the invitation list to who ever could read.
Blame. It’s a common word used in the everyday English language, but it can have powerful impact. Blame can save one life and end another, so why use it so flippantly? In William Shakespeare’s Tradgedy, Romeo and Juliet, blame is an all too familiar topic that takes all the characters in the play by storm. So, who can be blamed for Romeo and Juliet’s death? Several characters? One character? Or was it fate? In the prolouge, it even describes Romeo and Juliet as ‘star-crossed lovers.’ Implying that, even from birth, they were doomed to die because of each-other. However, can a idea that only 52% of Americans today believe in, play a role in such a situation? Some say no and some say
Lord Capulet is forcing Juliet to get married and doesn’t take into consideration that Juliet doesn’t desire to get married. Lord Capulet conversed to Paris, “ . . . Thursday tell her, she shall be married to this noble earl” (Shakespeare 198). Lord Capulet is indubitable for wanting Juliet ot get married, and arranges the wedding, as she is unaware of this. He plans the wedding thinking it will assist her from her grief of Tybalt dying, but he doesn’t know that for certain, and is planning something that will greatly affect her future, without her consent. Furthermore, this quote shows that when Juliet gave an ixnay on why she did not aspire to marry Paris, Capulet belabored her until she was on the ground crying asking for the nurses aid. Lord Capulet explains to Juliet, “But fettle your fine joints ‘gainst Thursday next, go with Paris to Saint Peters Church or I will drag thee on a hurdle*” (Shakespeare 214). This proves Capulet wants nothing more for his daughter than to get married to Paris, and it shows the extent he will go to, to receive his wish. Overall, Lord and Lady Capulet want Juliet to get married to Paris more than she wants to. This shows they don’t mind if she’s happy or not, as long as they get what they want. This goes deeper into the accusation that Juliet’s parents are at fault for the adolescents
In the tragic story of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare two teenagers met, fell in love, and eventually committed suicide from the pressure around them. Juliet's family, the Capulet's and Romeos family, the Montague's have a strong rivalry between each other. In my opinion, the Capulet's are to blame for Juliet's and Romeos death. The Capulet's are at fault because they played a major role in the ongoing rivalry with the Montague's, they were pressuring Juliet into marrying Count Paris, and had Romeo banished from Verona.
There is one question we've once asked or thought to ourselves. Who is to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, Romeo had found true love with Juliet. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet, which both are from different families are in a feud. They got married until Prince Escalus banished Romeo from Verona. and a Juliet´s father forced Juliet to marry a man she does not love but Romeo. She had an option not to marry the man and bring back Romeo pretending herself was dead. Next, the option occurred it backfired, which led Romeo and Juliet to commit suicide for each others death.
Six people died in less than a week… this is how. These six deaths could have easily been prevented. In Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, Lord Capulet and Friar Lawrence should be punished and Nurse should also be punished for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. First, Lord Capulet should be punished.
The Capulets as one are to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet. The reason Romeo and Juliet killed themselves is because the Capulets pushed Juliet to get married to a man she didn't love. “An you be not, hang, beg, starve, die in the streets, for, by my soul, I’ll ne’er acknowledge thee.” (3.5. 221)This evidence shares that Lord Capulet is the reason this tragic event happened to Romeo and Juliet. This means that Lord Capulet will disown his only child if she didn’t go through with the marriage plans she made for her, without her consent. The Capulets are the reason that Juliet wanted to die with Romeo. Paris was dead, romeo was dead, Juliet didn’t have anything left. “But fettle your fine joints ‘gainst Thursday next to go with Paris to
Lord and Lady Capulet are responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s death. Lord Capulet does not want Juliet living in his house if she isn’t married to Paris. For example (3.5.216) “Graze where you will, you shall not house with me…”Lord Capulet told Juliet if she wasn’t married to Paris she will not stay in his home and Lord Capulet will disown her. She is threatened to lose her own home and family just because of not marrying Paris. This leads to her killing herself because if she can’t be with the one she loves and still live at home she thinks why live at all.Lord Capulet moved up the wedding which doesn’t work well with Friar Laurence’s plan. For instance (3.4.33) “Well go get you gone. A Thursday be it then.”This quote is saying that Lord Capulet
