How Did Martin Luther King I Have A Dream Figurative Language

In the speech of martin luther king’s “I have a dream” he starts to talk about what is wrong with this nation and how we should start to change the way we think about black people, and that they are just the same and as intelligent as white people. Dr.Martin luther king was very passionate and attached to this speech he also used a lot of figurative language to get his point across and not have any confusion. This allowed him to get straight to the point, when he went up to stand in front of all those people you could tell he was ready to say what needed to be said and the people wanted to hear. In the beginning of the speech he points out that 100 years ago our fathers fought for our freedom and the right to be seen as a whole person not just ⅙ of a person but as a whole. The vocab he uses is very high he does this because white people thought that black people were not intelligent and could not use that kind of vocab. He starts to talk about his children and how he doesn't want them to have the same experience as he did. He just wants them to have a life of freedom and not be discriminated against, you can see this when he says “ I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by their skin color but by the content of their character” you can also see this in the same paragraph when he says “little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers” all he wants is for everyone to get along.
