Lazan used her life experiences with logos because she has a reason; she tells people her story so we do not have to repeat that period of time. Lazan has credibility and character from her experiences in those concentrations camps, she was taken to a concentration at the age of 9; her family was torn apart. If you think about having your family apart like Lazan’s was you would get really sad and even have anger that people torn families up just because they were different than everyone else. Angelou said that you have remember the people that helped you no matter what your religion or race is. She has that credibility because when someone helped her she made sure that they were not forgotten that their work was useful in her becoming

Rhetoric is the study of how writers and speakers use words to influence an audience. Pathos, Logos, and Ethos are examples of rhetorical devices, where the rhetorician would appeal to an audience to prove a point. She is a strong, confident, inspirational woman and I am more than honored to be doing my senior paper on her.
Rhetorical strategies are techniques writers use for a particular effect. In previous classes, you might have been introduced to them as “literary devices” – others will be completely new to you. When thinking of language choices that we make when writing or speaking, think of it like this -- everyone draws from a “toolbox” of rhetorical strategies as they express ideas and evoke responses in their readers. The more “tricks” of language that you know, the more effectively you can say what you want in the most effective way.

The rhetorical triangle has been used for many centuries in writings, and speeches. The triangle is composed of three parts, and all three parts influence each other in communicating the information being delivered. The first part of the triangle is the Logos (logic) which provides facts, statistics, evidence from studies, and historical precedent. The second part of the triangle is the emotion known as the Pathos. On the pathos, the person delivering the communication appeals to the reader’s superiority with personalized issues, and associates with admirable people. The third part of the rhetorical triangle deals with ethics referred to as the Ethos. The ethos establishes credibility, trustworthiness, educational background, and challenges conventional wisdom. Many people have used the rhetorical triangle throughout history to convey information, one person to use the triangle effectively was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On a “Letter from Birmingham Jail”, King used the three parts of the triangle to explain to the clergymen the motives for protesting.

In the article “You See In Their Eyes The Fear’, Erik Erazo decision was to stop "encouraging" (Sanchez) students to apply for DACA. Which I strongly disagree because it sounds like he's hopeless and believes that there is no future for them outside of the United States. Through the media, we are able to change the minds of the president to prevent the repeal of the DACA program. The 800,000 DACA recipients are at risk to lose their education and career. Claudio Sanchez says to Trump's administration to prevent him from revoking the DACA program. Before, revoking the program it was placing thousands of life at risk. Those affected by the program, the nation propose protests and published articles on the media about people's stories and experience.

Using rhetorical strategies is a very difficult writing style to achieve, it requires patience, organization and the strategic use of different words. Rhetorical strategies such as ethos, logos, and pathos are very simple to define, but using these strategies in writing, is a very complex skill that I struggled with prior to taking English 1301. After creating a Prize presentation about different rhetorical strategies, writing a rhetorical analysis essay with the aid of Purdue Owl, became more understandable. Prize presentations made it easier to understand difficult materials because my professor made other students and I represent each topic with an image and explanation.
