Everyone has heard or been told, “high school is what you make of it.” High school is in fact what you make of it, but it is also the time of great change in everybody. Entering grade nine you still feel like a kid, your post-secondary and career choices are far from top priority. However, by grade twelve we become more mature and grow into young adults. Personally looking back to my grade nine self and comparing her to my grade twelve self of today, I am able to see changes in my character, my athletics and my goals. There are many aspects within my personal character in which have changed since entering grade nine. One of these aspects is my time management skills. When I first started out in grade nine, I used to rush home and rush …show more content…
Over four years, I have made, as well as, lost friends. We all need to grow and mature and sometimes others just do not want to follow that path with you and you end up growing apart. Further changes can be seen in my athletics. Although this may seem a mute point to mention, my sports are part of my life and today are part of my career choice. Therefore, my sports have obviously impacted me. In grade nine, I was curling seven days a week on multiple teams and different leagues. I joined the school team and ended the season winning Female MVP. In grade nine I was aiming towards going to Provincials for curling while in grade twelve I now aim towards placing higher than bronze in the 2010 Summer Games for archery. I do not have much time for school sports with my archery outside of school taking off and I rarely get time to go shoot some rocks. Archery is my main focus in sports right now. Along with my goals in sports changing, my goals in post-secondary matters as well as career choices have changed. Today I am looking at applying to either Canadore College or Brock University, where four years ago all I knew was that I wanted to attend college and move out. Now I realize staying home would save me a lot of money. As well, I am more open to looking at both university and college courses, like Brock, as their program I wish to take is said to be excellent. In grade nine I was jobless and did not truly
The first reason how I’ve changed since I have came to Middle School is I have become more focused on work. When I was at Elementary School I did not want to do work at all, but when I have came to Middle School I actually do my work now. I get my worked turned in on time, and I don’t get in trouble if I don’t get my worked in on time.
If I look back on my life it is very different than it used to be. Middle School is 3 years of countless phases. One day you are a Mets fan another day you are a Yankees fan. One day all your friends play on Playstation and then they all buy an Xbox because it is the next cool thing to do. You just do not know what will be “in” next. When this is all over you can recap the good and the bad. We all have our good and bad times. but now all of us will be going to different schools next year. The crossroad has come for us what happens now cannot be changed. The next chapter in the book of my life has come and the introduction has been written.
High school, for many, is commonly termed as “the greatest four years of your life.” It is stopping for coffee with your friends while listening to your favorite songs on the way to school in the morning. It is staring at the clock waiting for the bell to ring to finally go to your favorite class of the day. It is staying after a long day of class for meetings, clubs, or sports, or it is spending Friday nights with your best friends performing under the football field lights. High school can be many different experiences for different people, but most importantly, for me, it was learning essential values of life while shaping me into the person that I am today.
When people tell you that high school would be the best time of your life, you don’t really understand the magnitude of what they’re saying until your time is coming to an end. A lot of people say that you “find yourself” in college. I, however, had the advantage of finding myself in high school. These past six years have been awesome, and I really mean it. I know it might not seem believable for a high school student to enjoy school, but I’m not lying about this stuff. I felt this way even before there was a scholarship to apply for. My mom taught me from a young age to enjoy going to school, and as much stress as it might have caused me over the years, I still loved every second of it. It’s easy to focus on the undesirable parts like sleep
How I changed in middle schools is am more responsible. Another way I changed is I am smarter. The way i act is way better.
When I was fourteen years old, I realized that I was very different from my twin sister Annsley. When Annsley and I were in the eighth grade there was a form that we received to encourage students to join the band. I had no desire to join the band, I wanted to play soccer while Annsley on the contrary, could not wait to sign up. She even had a countdown for the first football game because she could not wait to march with her now, new band friends.
Have I changed since the beginning of Jr. High? I believe I have, I feel that it was a positive change. I have become more open about myself, I really don't care about what others think of me, and have learned to love myself before I love others.
Middle school is kinda weird, especially if it's your first year. Your meeting new teachers, students so it will be awkward at first, but then you get to know everyone in your class. I was a different kid before I Entered middle school, I was really immature, quite short
I was terrified of starting middle school. I had attended the same elementary school for seven years, change scared me. I’ve now realized how important change is, and to not fear it.
In my early years I was often found in tears, For no one would offer to play Or even bother to stay, I soon would not care for I found someone Who had gone through enough. We often were found in the art supplies
I don’t think I have changed that much I’m still the old me and it’s going to stay like that probably for another year. I like myself how I am I make people laugh! That’s what I love and what I also love is that I love to help people out. If it’s something to do with problems I will help them on whatever. What something changed were the knowing people last year in eighth grade I will talk to more than hundred a day and a hug like hundred people, now that I changed because I met new people. Know I have to meet people from another school and like tell them hi. I’m really outgoing if someone tells me “hey go say hi” and I will go I’m not afraid of anything. I came out like
Middle school is a big turning point in most students’ maturity, I believe. Especially 8th Grade, as you are finally leaving the Middle School building, and going on to High School with the mindset that you are almost an adult. Along the way, you learn to cope with many things, whether they be accomplishments or losses. In this entry, I am going to discuss what I did, as well as some thoughts on leaving 8th Grade.
Many of us have had friendships that have not ended as well as we thought it would. Not all friendships end with happily ever afters or endless conversations over the phone. Most friendships that started when you were 5 do not last until naptime. People grow apart, change, and have
Once a child graduates from elementary school and goes on to high school, he or she is already molded into the person he or she will be for the rest of his or her life. Sure all kids become more mature within those four years, but their values are still the same, and in some cases even stronger. In most circumstances, a child will use what they learned in the past to make decisions inhe future. High school, however, is important for other reasons as well. High school is the very last step before a student can enter the realm of higher education. Therefore, high school is essentially what prepares a student to go on to bigger and better things. High school is where
Knowing my limited athletic talents, I began to explore other aspects of sports. In my junior year, I decided to become the Statistician for the Soccer team. By the end of the season, I earned my first varsity letter for soccer. When fencing season began, I was called up to the varsity squad as my skills improved. By the end of the season, I received my second varsity letter for fencing. At the end of the year, I realized there was a difference between both letters. The soccer letter represented me recognizing my personal flaws and adjusting my interests to succeed in the end. The fencing letter represented me working on my determination and ability to learn the skills needed to reach my goal.
