Taking control of procrastination is something I constantly find myself fighting with. Some helpful tips that I just finish reading include breaking large obstacles into smaller ones. Breaking a large task into smaller assignments seems a lot easier than tackling a large one head on. Another helpful tip is finding a quite place that does not distract you from your studies, while taking one or two breaks in between. One other helpful tip that I find myself doing from time to time is reminding me of the consequences of not completing the task at hand. Take this Team Assignment for example. By not completing this assignment, my fellow team will not receive a passing grade. By identifying good behaviors it will help you to fight procrastination.

Before entering class, I deemed myself a competent writer. However, I quickly discovered that my writing involved mediocre writing precepts. In contrast to the principles of scholarly discourse, my writing held the tenets of conversational writing and did not meet academic standards. Furthermore, much of my poor writing involved deep-rooted habits that were humbling and challenging. Passive voice, unneeded words, long sentences, were a few of the obstacles that impeded my journey toward effective writing. However, using peer reviews and an editing checklist I slowly began improving my skills as a competent writer. I also found that reading concerning writing provided supplementary methods in improving my skills as a scholarly writer.

I had been able to generate ideas by finding input that is inspiring throughout the course in my writing. This helped tremendously to keep me going without running out of what to write, which I have encountered numerous times before. Furthermore, creativity enhancement this semester helped fill my brain with meaningful ideas. Moving a little toward curiosity to make me explore deeper to answer questions for audience has not been easy. However, I have come to realize that sometimes ideas are right in front of me. Thus, I have grown more confident and prolific as I work on attentive generating idea habit.

What I learned this week from reading is to look at my writing situation and focus on the key elements (like purpose of your writing and the audience). I also have a habit of overthinking what to write and it sometimes takes me longer with writing which results in errors. I am learning to just write and go back and proofread my writing. If I have second doubts about my writing I will ask someone else to review it. When writing you has to discover your purpose and what you would like to accomplish in writing. Also know who your audience is; when writing a paper a person must know the audience that they are writing for.

Procrastination is one of my biggest downfalls however I can fix this by practicing better time management skills. Throughout the college process I can foresee this as being an ongoing challenge because i'll know that I have enough time to get an assignment done but depending on the assignment i'll wait two days or a day before to complete it,and it's not on purpose it's simply because i'm not managing my time

In correspondence with your eagerness to break your bad habit, you must remember to not rush the process. Trying to put too much of your time and energy into solving the problem may prove effective at first; however, you will soon notice yourself becoming overwhelmed with the pressure to change immediately. By breaking down the process into steps and conquering each factor contributing to procrastination piece by piece, you will find yourself reaching success more often than taking on the task as a whole

Since my initial writing assignments, it is apparent that my writing has dramatically improved. Initially, virtually all of my writing was largely descriptive. However, irrespective of how the writing was descriptively exciting, my essays lacked a coherent structure and organization. They were like a shapeless cake without layers. They lacked the right coherency that enables a reader to understand a piece of writing in a proper order.

This semester I believe my writing has improved and expanded immensely this semester, which I am very grateful for. In late 2015, I was tasked with writing a press release for Girls Inc. and I struggled organizing and structuring a press release. At first, our first press release assignment was a challenge. I was having trouble getting into the swing of things. However, when I wrote the press release for this final project, it was a breeze writing and the organization of the piece came naturally. I think this is because of all of our practice writing this semester. My understanding of press releases, their purpose, and the planning behind press releases has deepened and I think this will benefit me in my career.

As an author, I have developed and created many written work systems and styles. Already, my written work styles and abilities were coarse and grungy. My first paper was disgracefully punctuated, had a powerless body structure, and intertwined sentences. Over this semester, my written work aptitudes have enhanced significantly. I have figured out how to sort out and develop a paper formally. This has fortified my capacities as an essayist, which reflects in my written work.

Writing papers has not been my strong suit in school. Writing papers has bad days, as well as good days for me. One day I can write a five page paper in one sitting, another, I struggle to write a sentence within half an hour. Writing, as well as using the writing process, is a very daunting task, in which I hope to excell in throughout the course of this year. Although I have struggled with writing in the past, I believe that I can turn this around by utilizing the writing process, as well as reducing the mistakes that have been made in the past.

In the beginning, writing was fun and new. It was something interesting, something that I had never done before and something that would crack open my head and allow all of the creative juices to flow. However, the more I learned about writing the less it appealed to me. Letters and sentences were simple and easy to get a point across, then they had to be punctuated correctly or you failed, words needed to be elaborate and contorted in ways I had never understood otherwise you failed and if the story wasn’t long enough you failed. Writing is something that should be enjoyed by all, not something that is forced on to us. The education system does a pretty good way of ruining that.

It is very hard to pick just one part of what I was engaged in. This by far was a good course and I feel that I have learned a great deal from it. To be honest, I was worried about as my writing skills were not that great. I have seen my writing improve as well as my spelling. My spelling was horrible, but it too has improved. You gave us the freedom to write about what interested us, which I think, made it easier for us. When writing about something that you enjoy, it made it more enjoyable and not a daunting task. I know that I still have a long ways to come in my writing, but I do feel that I have come along ways and our district attorneys have even told me that my reports look better and tell the story in a more fluent manner. I

When I signed up for this class (at the last minute, I should add, after dropping out of an economics class), I had no idea what to expect from a college-level creative writing course. I was excited to write creatively as a part of a group of like-minded people, but I wondered about the academic aspect of the class: what exactly would I learn about writing itself, and how would I learn it? Looking back now, I realize that through my interactions with the readings we did, my critique of others work, and the feedback I received on my own pieces, I have expanded my depth of knowledge on what is required to create great writing, and, perhaps most importantly, I have learned that great writing can take a variety of forms.

Procrastination brings out the best and the worst in people. In my case leaving tasks and assignments forces my puny brain to excrete all the useful information it has retained. My procrastination has pushed me to new heights and on rare occasions, caused me to fail miserably.
