Islam was a very popular religious belief that had followers from all around, but we ask why
it spread so quickly over a short period of time. There were different factors that had allowed Islamic
beliefs to cover such a large area so quickly.
The Islam religion started with a man named Muhammad. A tough childhood, losing his
parents at an early age and working as a merchant most of his life . He retreated to a cave in a near
mountain. He said it was there that he received his first revelation from God at age 40. Three years after
the revelation he began preaching publicly. He had gained few followers early on and was met with
hostility from Meccan tribes. After 8 years he had gained up to 10,000 followers who

They also had flourishing markets that had all types of trade opportunities. This specific part of
economic growth directly could show why it spread so quickly because if the Islamic towns and cities
were growing due to increase in food supply, than so would the religion. More people would lead to
more followers. Also banks could tie into allowing more people more opportunities in the Islamic
cities, they gave entrepreneurs money to start their businesses. Allowing a reason for more people to
move in and follow the religion. Another part of the Islamic economic growth would be the paper
industry. After a military battle with a Chinese army, they captured people skilled in paper production
and learned from them. By the 10th century mills that produced the paper could be found in Persia,
Mesopotamia, Arabia, Egypt and Spain. These mills allowed for the creation of books. Such as the
Quran, or guide for a follower of the Islam religion.
The Quran had served as the cornerstone of the Islamic society. They spread the message of
allah and provided the teachings of the religion. The Quran stated that religion was easy, just to follow
the 5 Pillars of Islam. You must believe that Muhammad is the only prophet of god and to support
Allah. You must pray 5 times a day. Fast and pray during the month of Ramadan. It wasn 't required but
if the opportunity was given to make a pilgrimage and lastly
Hello! I'm Veronica, a Muslim soldier. I'm here to explain why Islam spread so quickly. In document A, it is stated that Mecca was a good place for trade and these traders went to many places for their dealings. While they were doing this, they also brought their religion and beliefs, and spread it upon the people they met. In document B, some of Islam's beliefs are stated. Many people seem to enjoy these beliefs, therefore converting to the Islam religion. In document C, traders took routes through Medina, Isahan, Merv, Bukhara, Kabul, Damascus, Constantinople, Cairo, Aswan, Caliruan, Tangler, Cordoba, Toledo, Saragossa, and Tours. These are all places where the brought and expressed their religious beliefs.
In the beginning, Muhammad started to preach his teachings, called Islam, in a populous trade center known as Mecca. Though, at first, his preachings were resisted as the people worried that idol worship and pilgrimages, or journeys to a sacred place, would end. This, in fact, proved to be true as with enough support, Muhammad ordered that the idols be destroyed and that a shrine dedicated to Allah be built instead, making Mecca the birthplace and foundation of Islam. However, within 100 years of Muhammad’s death in 632 CE, Islam had spread to multiple other countries including Europe, North Africa, and Asia. The question is, how did Islam spread so rapidly over the course of 100 years? Briefly put, Islam spread rapidly due to trade routes, military campaigns, and non-Muslim converts.
Lastly, Islam spread quickly through military campaigns which is depicted in “The Spread of Islam (map)” (Doc. C) This map shows how the people that were conquered by the Muslims chose to convert to Islam
I’m sure everyone knew about how islam one of the most popular religions, but most people never realized how quickly it spread. Islam is a religion that was created in the time 610 C.E. by a judge named Muhammad who lived in Mecca. He went to pray at mt. Hira as he usually does, but then an archangel appeared. The angel then grabbed Muhammad and shared information about Allah or God and and called the religion Islam. This brings you to the question, how did Islam spread so quickly. I believe the main ways Islam spread so quickly was because of the protection they give you in the empire, conquering land, and through trade.
Islam also spread because people like their government. They had people who were called caliphs who did a great job. They also sang Hymns which the people loved and they signed up.
Islam spread so quickly because they had strict religious rules, trade, the military and mercy to muslims and other races.
Migration and trade both played a crucial role in the spread of Islam. In Anatolia and India, Muslims invaded and, although the Islamic population was the minority in India due to a lack of trade, it quickly became the majority in Anatolia, resulting in that area becoming the
The rise of the Islamic religion and the growth of Islam’s territory happened rather quickly. During the life of their prophet and Islam’s originator, Muhammad, and interestly it even increased after his death, but how? Islam spread so fast after it was originated because of three things: trade, military conquest, and the appeal of its government.
The first reason Islam spread so quickly was because of Mecca’s central location and importance in trade. Its is shown in Document A that Mecca was easily reached from other locations such as Medina, Muscat, and Aden. There were also sea routes to eastern Africa, India, and even Spain. As a trade center, Mecca sees hundreds, even thousands, of traders annually, and when people trade goods they also trade ideas. Because Mecca was such a bustling trade center, as time went on Islam was spread by traders far and wide.
One’s mission as a Muslim is to proselytize and strive to get people to convert to Islam. This allowed more people to join the Muslim community, thus expanding it in population. The belief of the Muslims was not friendly to people who were once Muslim and converted to a different religion. Islam teaches that people who leave the religion are to be killed. Killing apostates scared people and persuaded them to stay in the Muslim community. Lastly, Islam was an attractive religion because it did not have any priests or positions of authority. Under the eyes of Allah, the low cannot be distinguished from the high nor the master from the slave. (Document 3) This attracted many poor people and slaves to Islam because they were given a chance to be equal in
Islam’s massive growth in size can be credited to the constant battles and war with surrounding areas. The Muslims were determined to share
It was very different from other religions, and some things really caught people’s attention. The values of the Qur’an were absolutely fair to all people, which was something to like about the religion. In the Qur’an, it shows that all lives matter because it says saving one life is equal to saving the whole human race. It is an undeniable fact that the Qur'an is a living book that has influenced millions of people through its beauty and style. The Qur’an is a great source of Islamic faith. Many early Muslims had a great deal of faith. Due to the complete honesty and the influence of the appealing personality of Muhammad, the faith of his supporters were unusually strong. It was based on their first-hand acquaintance with his exemplary life. After hearing about ‘The Origins of the Islamic State’, the Hims adopted the religion. Since the religion was adopted, it spread all over
The prophet Muhammad founded the religion known as Islam during the postclassical period. He claimed to hear voices while meditating alone and believed this voice to be that of a higher being. He declared himself the last prophet and formed the Islamic religion on the belief that at the end of time, on Judgment Day, everyone would be resurrected and either have eternal punishment in hellfire or eternal joy in paradise. Islam grew in popularity around the world when Muslim merchants spread across the Indian Ocean in search of commercial opportunity. It gained a huge following in Africa, India and China and significantly affected the attitudes, beliefs and customs of the people that lived there.
Why did Islam spread so quickly? I believe it definitely did, spread very rapidly. There are all kinds of reasons as to why this may have happened. There are not many wrong answers to this question. I believe that the following are the three main reasons as to why it spread so quickly. The first main reason I believe that helped the rapid spread of Islam was due to it’s very loyal followers. They had some of the most loyal and serious followers of any religion. The followers of Islam at that time were very committed and ready to spread their religion more and more. The ideas and teaching of Islam may have been why the followers were so loyal, which brings me to my next point. The next reason I believe Islam spread so quickly was because of the ideas of Islam. These ideas talked about things like
Islam is a major world religion. Its origin can be traced back to 610 CE in Arabia. The basis of this religion is the revelations to the prophet Mohammad. Dissatisfied with his life, he traveled to deserts, hills, and the wilderness surrounding Mecca, where he lived, to meditate and reflect. He became a new man through his revelations, which many of his followers believe Allah transmitted to him through his angel Gabriel. Islam was originally an Arab religion, but many different beliefs and practices were added to it, making it extremely popular and aiding in its rapid spread. This new religion spread to many different areas surrounding Arabia, both under Mohammad and after his death. The Muslim Empire grew to encompass Spain and
