This is my relation and reflection on to of the text I have read.First I want to answer the question what could happen if we ignore the past? Also the question Why is important to know beliefs and traditions? So when you read this I will be answering all of those questions in my writing. things we might do can affect our past, and destroy our thoughts religion also the things we need to understand the past world. Also in the text (Freedom Walkers) we judged people by their skin tone and we have to look back to have that never happen again. We just think of ourselves and what we do now and do not appreciate people who fought for what we don’t pay no attention to like when the said there were protest in the text(Freedom Walkers).just like (Jo Ann …show more content…
Things that I think I would think is the text have me think that if we see the past we can fix the future. Also we can have seen those mistakes and never make them again and watch out for the future. Then when we think of mistakes we made like the great depression or like world war 1 and 2 we can fix it.Lastly the future has things we might come upon that happened in the past and we can look back and see what happened. That is how if we look at our past that it can help out future. This how I learned from the three text how to fix my future. Also I wanted to show you how it helps and it is good to look at the past. Then when you even need to be happy look at the things you have done in your lifetime and share it with somebody. Finally when it comes to the way you have the past and future don’t always dwell in your past. That is how this essay shows how the past helps the future. It is important to know what happens in the past and to celebrate what we have, and to acknowledge it. If we make the same mistakes again and again, people would be battling for everything. Almost no one would treat each other nicely. The traditions we do show us to remember what was important to others before us. Traditions let us know what was good to do in the past. Legends and stories help us remember the past and let us know who was important before, and where these stories came from.
Memories are important, they are a personal record of our past experiences, and could be called the history book for our life. In the poem "The Heroes You Had as a Girl", author Bronwen Wallace tells the story of a woman who meets her high school hero later in her life, reflects on her memories of him, and ultimately decides not to talk to him. The effect that this topic has on everyone is the knowledge that we can be captivated and let our memories control us, and by knowing that our memories hold that much power, it may make it more mentally efficient to make accurate, and personal decisions in a fraction of the time. The topic and overall meaning that this idea holds convey a message that resonates with the idea that memories are in fact the central hub of our decision making. People remembering memories can affect their perspective on their lives to such an extent, that they prefer to immerse their mind in their past memories rather than the current reality.
He focuses on the struggle of human beings to achieve their goals by both transcending and re-creating the past. Yet humans prove themselves unable to move beyond the past.
We have to do with the past only as we can make it useful to the present and the future- Frederick Douglass.
This line in the book describes the final characteristic of mans’ attitude - fear. The Time Machine is saying that mankind, even when

This follows with a lot of the other things we learned, because up until this point almost everybody had to follow rules no matter what, the people did not get to say if they wanted to do something or not. And as we learn about different societies, we also learn about the different religions that they had. Each society is different; the Indus Valley was the only place that had Buddhism. It is important to know the different religions and see how they evolve as we see more societies pop
Do events of the past affect an individual’s life? How important are memories of the past for people of the future? Does the past, even relate to the future at all? To figure out the answers to these questions, one has to understand the impact that past events can do to one’s future. Events in the past are essential to an individual 's development and can change their perspective of life. As a matter of fact, you can see these questions being answered in Classical Literature, Modern Literature, Current Events and even Visual Rhetoric.
The past, the present and the future all have one similarity: time. The past can either be one’s burden or blessing. The present takes into account how one’s past affects the choices they make that will inevitably affect the future. The future is the product of the past and the present along with the sense and image of the future. These three timely qualities are present in the quote, “We are all serving a life-sentence in the dungeon of self”, by Cyril Connolly. The “life-sentence” is caused by the past, the “serving” is the present, and the “self” is the future of who someone is. Along with the quote, the past, present, and future are thoroughly established The Crucible by Arthur Miller as well through a sin, a choice, and a name. I agree
The quote in the book Three Times Lucky, “We can’t change the past, Solider. We can only be grateful for a new day, and move on”(Turnage, 225). This quote means a lot to me in life. The past already happened and we can’t go back in time to change it, but what we can do is be glad that there’s new day coming to us and not make the same mistakes as we did in the past. We learn from our past, so in the future we can become a better person than what we were in the former years. Also we can’t be living in the past forever, so we have to be thankful that there’s a destiny in front of us and move on. This quote inspires me this year in English class is I can’t change what I did or did not learn in my previous years in English class, but I can use
History shows the mistakes human beings have made over the different time periods. But, because of the many mistakes, history will not repeats its error. In the fictional selections, Of mice and men, Fences, Things they carried and Night, the authors use fiction to fill in the gaps that history cannot capture. These fictional stories have showed the different time periods were history has committed mistakes. The authors creates the selections to develop the theme of learn from your mistakes and do not repeat them.
To start off with, some of the paragraphs in the text talk about how mistakes are key to discovery, and some of them (like the Lost Cities, Lost Treasure) paragraph, talks about how mistakes are just key to disaster and that about mistakes and if they are good and can change everything in some cases. But sometimes they can lead to a whole other way to change our lives forever just by making one little mistake.
Otherwise we never reach to what we want. In addition, cultural shift also changes the world in preparation for the final stage of the earths’ evolution to become one divine being. Simply said, our understanding of religion and its accompanying ideas are constantly changing. The way we looked at topics and issues a few hundred years ago is much different than we do now. Therefore we must keep in mind the importance of cultural shift in order to understand religious issues.
People should live for today, not yesterday or tomorrow. According to Buddhist wisdoms, “We will try not to lose ourselves in dispersion or be carried away by regrets about the past, worries about the future, or cravings, anger, or jealousy in the present” (Fourteen Mindfulness, 7th training). With this awareness in mind, it will allow people to refresh their feeling about the challenge they had in the past. Additionally, it will be able to help people to live happily and peacefully.
Oral recitation isn’t necessarily the best method to preserve religious text since errors may arise and alter the original meaning of a certain concept or idea. Although individuals with these stories and traditions may be able to preserve them through oral recitation, the generations after them may not be as effective. Furthermore, the interpretation could be different without having written text as one word could derail the original intent of a story and/or tradition. Nevertheless, these stories (myths) and traditions could be preserved through song and dance. Additionally, oral language changes as a result of the inclusion of other more complex languages. As a result, it becomes incredibly difficult to expand one’s religion as other languages are created. Therefore, the comprehension of religions lacks cultural development without written language since it was only exclusively known to a small group of people.
