Not only this, but it also helps you mentally. Studies show that the higher your education is the more you are mentally stable and feel good about yourself coming to a point where you would want to achieve physically stability and comfortness, (livescience.com). Graduates from post secondary often live healthier and happier lives, about 44% more college graduates are healthier than non- graduates. College grads are more likely to live seven more years, less likely to smoke, exercise, and see a doctor regularly, (Professor Philip Trostel). This all affects lifestyle in many different ways.

Completion of a college degree does matter. Adult-students who complete their college degree have greater self-esteem, have open-minded views, have greater critical thinking, have more direction toward learning, and have a greater interest to learn new interests. The economic pay-off of a college education does give instant gratification it’s more of a long term gratification.

Furthering your education in this world is important. Going to college is very beneficial to society because it helps the country run smoother. But others tend to feel like college is not isn’t worth the time of day. Front my points of view, the benefits of attending college are manifold. According to the U.S Census bureau, a “Bachelor’s Degree holder earns twice as much in a lifetime as a high school graduate”. Even better, there are more job options available to choose from, instead of having limited places in the workforce to work for owing to the fact that we never attended college. Although, not everybody may have the opportunity to attend college at some point, but when opportunity strikes, it can’t be thrown away. Moreover, it is important to further our education, to increase our earnings potential, to increase our knowledge and have a better future.

A large part of college is personal growth (Source X) Coincidentally personal growth also plays a large role in perceived quality of life. Taking this into consideration makes college into more than a machine designed to increase an individual’s level of monetary success. While some may claim those who work in fulfilling jobs that do not require degrees feel more content, (Source X) it is impossible to ignore the way in which colleges, “help students discover what they love to do…” (Source X) HIgher education can ultimately lead to a better emotional quality of life, and this cannot be discounted when weight the value of furthering one’s education.
